Rise of Skywalker is not my favourite Star Wars movie, but I like quite a few of the toys and Lego sets based on the movie. And I suspect we will not see more sets from this movie soon. So I’m glad we got this cool and distinctive Poe Dameron orange X-Wing fighter. This set is simply a very good, about 36 cm in length, Lego version with excellent wing mechanics. The built was not very demanding for my young resistance engineer, it took him less than 2 hours that he spread over a few building sessions. I did not really have to assist aside from the sticker handling, but there were only a few included. The completed 761-piece model stands outs nicely with its orange colours among our growing Star Wars Lego collection, though it lacks a bit in sturdiness - I have to put parts back in place quite frequently after play sessions. The X-wing has a few play functions which is nice, though they are hardly surprising.; the cockpit opens, the landing gear retraces, R2 units can be placed in the back and the wings can be put in attack position. The fighter also has several of these annoying spring loaded missiles, that we always lose and that add very little to the play value if you ask me (they are actually quite distracting as they always shoot when you don’t want them and always in a direction where they are hard to find again). Also in this model the missile launchers are somewhat inconveniently placed. On the other hand I quite like the included cockpit ladder for the pilot, a nice item to add to your resistance base.In terms of figures the set is okay. The most interesting figures are of course Jannah, that can only be found in this set. And the single Knight of Ren that completes our bunch of 5 Knights in brick form - although I wonder what the relevance was of adding him to a set with Poe and Jannah. We already have countless of Poe and R2 figures but I can understand why they had to be included in this set. The combination of the figures and the iconic value of the fighter provides good value. I paid £75 for it, which I think was an appropriate price.

Although there are only 6 bags of pieces, the 123 page/218 step catalogue of instructions makes building the X-Wing Fighter seem a little daunting. It follows the same idea as any other Lego instruction manual though with step by step graphic images showing you what pieces you need and how they go together so a whole page can be taken up by just putting 3 pieces together and I like that they always start with some of the characters so you’ve instantly got something to play with. I also liked that it showed the right and wrong ways for some so you know you’ve got it right before moving on. Once built it feels very sturdy because there are so many pieces piled on top of other pieces. It’s not a stationary toy either – this one will shoot missiles, you can lift up the front landing gear for a more realistic flyer, pushing the lever at the back opens the wings – some elastic bands there and they can retract by unlocking it at the bottom. There are only 3 stickers to be applied but additional details in the cockpit already applied to the pieces. I also like that there are some left over pieces at the end (so don’t worry if you have any!). Priced at £97.99 (currently £87.44 in the sale), it’s expensive for the number of pieces.

Poe Dameron is a crucial character in the Star Wars universe - he is the most prolific of all the new Star Wars characters. First seen piloting an X-wing fighter for the Resistance in the Force Awakens he has subsequently appeared in The Last Jedi and now The Rise of Skywalker. So it feels inevitable that Lego would produce this X-wing starfighter inspired by the film. This is quite an expensive Lego model but I reckon it's a fair price when you experience all the special details that make this model so special. While it's aimed at a 9+ audience, in our family's case the builder - my son - is an adult fan of Lego and we enjoyed the process of building it.It now joins our vintage yellow Naboo Fighter taking pride of place on the bookshelf in our living room. Let's ignore the fact that you'd never see these two craft together in the real world. In summary - it comes in a fairly wide but thin box and there are few things more exciting than getting one of the latest Lego Star Wars starfighters, carefully opening the box, following the instructions and assembling this beautiful X-wing.

This is the first Lego set I have built in 20 years, and I must say that it was an incredibly nostalgic experience. The instructions were easy enough to understand for a beginner, and overall it took me around 4 hours to complete (finished while watching A New Hope & Empire- I would highly recommend a Lego build & movie marathon for a satisfying Saturday night!). The only thing I'm not a huge fan of are the elastic bands on the wings. I find that mine have a lot of tension, which makes the mechanism difficult to use, but this is not a deal-breaker for me. Not everyone is a fan of the orange colouring, but I certainly am. It is absolutely stunning! I would also like to say I am not the target market for this set,but if any other 30 year old ladies are wavering on getting into Lego (and Lego Star Wars in particular), just do it. I had a blast making this X-Wing and I will not be hesitating to expand my collection.

First thing that will catch anyone's eye is the price point. At £75, this LEGO X-Wing kit is not cheap, but you need to look beyond what seems a big outlay for 5 minutes of fun, and realise that this is a project. This is a project which requires the assembly of 761 pieces! It's going to require many hours of concentration, and working through the incredibly detailed step by step 120+ page build manual. But at the end of this journey, you will have a real sense of satisfaction knowing that you brought something to life (adjustable wings, landing gear, shooting functions!) from bags of blocks. So what you get in the end is something that offers far greater value for money than it would initially seem.In a digital world, it's nice to have something which still allows you to get lost in good old fashioned analogue fun.

Once again, LEGO has produced an awesome kit for Star Wars fans. Obviously 9+ is a guide, but for any dedicated Star Wars film buffs with time on their hands, this is a must-have set which brings a sense of achievement by the end. Issued in January 2020, it missed the Christmas market, but this item is selling like hot cakes. I always thought LEGO was expensive, but at around £79, this represents great value for money - -it cost us more to see Star Wars at the cinema. As I write this review, my husband and son (13) are sitting at the same table, bonding over the instruction manual - no mobile devices in sight. It's like a return to traditional values.

The model looked excellent from the pictures so was keen to purchase it and was not disappointed. The build, although straight forward was a pleasure to complete. I loved the contrasting orange and white colours of the the fighter, along with the selection of mini figures supplied. The moving features on the fighter are great and the fighter looks even more impressive, wh3n the wings are set in the open position. I also was pleased to see there was only 3 small decals for the fighter. Only small feedback, would have been to have a slighter bigger stand, although the model was not unstable. A definite purchase recommendation.

On the face of it, this looks quite expensive, but it's quite an intricate model and takes time to construct. The instructions are very good, and this will occupy a young Star Wars fan for a rainy afternoon and leave them with a handsome piece to adrmire. It looks great when finished, and the variable wing geometry is a nice touch. When first opened, this looks like quite a daunting project, but the quality of the instructions make it a relatively simple step-by-step process.Highly recommended.

I had so much fun building this x-wing. The new packaging looks amazing. In the box u will find six numberd bags, a manual and a little square of stickers (don't worry there's only 3 stickers). The booklet takes you through the six bags, listing the pieces you will need for each step and every step is shown with pictures. The end result is as expected from lego. Looks good, they have coverd every detail. Feels comfortable in hand, good quality, nice weight too it. Great for saving the galaxy.

Lego put out a nice X-wing version here! You can knock it out of the park by adding, moving a few Lego's. I took off the lower darts too and added some white bushings, tiled the engines and finished out underneath same about as top. Really think a nice scaled new Lego for the wing gun tips is way over due. It doesn't take much to keep them from spinning. Anything added here is to big currently, the flower tipped bars do suffice though.

An extremely detailed, sturdy and functional set as always from Lego. As an adult this took me a good couple of hours to assemble so as a child I would imagine it would take alot longer. It's a large set with 6 bags of lego inside but all clearly laid out how to assemble. Some bits are a little fiddle and some people may find they need some help with these parts.Great product and a great addition to any star wars fan collection.

Me and my 8 year old son really enjoyed building this set. It took us 2-3 hours altogether, it was a relatively easy build. The minifigures are very detailed with accessories that match the film closely. The features of the completed build are great, the only downside is that we find the wings don’t stay open as they should without a bit of manual intervention. This is the only reason that I dropped a star on quality.

I really like the color they use for this X Wing. Goes pretty well together. The attention to detail is good and I like how minimal stickers is used. I also like how I can lock the S Foils in the attack position which makes it pretty good for play and on display. The only thing is I wish the price could be a bit cheaper but overall I am happy with my purchase. Highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of the X Wing.

My grandma bought this for me a few days ago and I had a lot of fun putting it together. It might take less time to build the set than it took me, I was watching the movies while doing it so I'm sure I was distracted. My only criticisms are that the lever to open/close the wings can sometimes get stuck, and the build is wobbly when resting with the wings open. I'd still definitely recommend this set.

PROS:- very good and interesting build and building process- great to display- the x-wing feature works great- decent character selection- vibrant colours, very different to most SW lego sets- just an overall great x-wing if you find a saleCONS:- look for a sale, high price for no more than 800 pieces- lacks one or two minifigures for the price- bad spring loaded shooter location
