Love this product. Grew up with LEGO star wars sets as a kid, but could never afford this one. Now that I'm older i decided to buy what I had always wanted as a kid. Totally worth it, building it was a blast into nostalgia. The set is quite large as well, with about 10 different parts to the ship...each part taking 30 min - 1 hour depending on your speed. So you can get a couple fun sessions out of it or just go all out and take a day to build it.The finished product is surprisingly large and looks very impressive. I finished it just a few days ago and already almost want to take it apart to rebuild it again.I wouldn't recommend for young children, but mature kids could easily have a blast with this.

LEGO's ulimate collector series sets are well worth the money for adults or older children. The design and mechanics that go into these large sets make them fun to build and the finished product is definitely display worthy. Judging by past Star Wars UCS on eBay, you will probably get your money back if you choose to sell it and who knows you just might make some. I purchased this as a Christmas present for my son and he loved it. It was a great addition to his Star Wars Lego collection. My son already built it after a few weeks and loved it. He thought it to be excellent and a lot of fun. Thank you so much. I will definitely order more LEGO online in future. It was very fun to build and has very detailed instructions.

This is the first Lego I've owned/used since I was about 12 and now I'm in my early 40s. Let me tell you, you don't lose it, one you learn to stick one piece to another, that's something you keep for life. I had such a blast making this model, a few false starts here and there, but that was cool. I just really enjoyed myself and it reminded me of a simpler life I suppose, I built it over several very content evenings, a nice beer helped matters, an inquisitive cat meant I nearly lost most of a turbo blaster as he was intent on swiping pieces off the table while I was attending the call of nature... maybe the beer wasn't a great idea after all.ladies, if you are thinking of buying this for the man in your life then do not hesitate,

I've been a Star Wars nut as long as I can remember, and I caught the Lego bug a few months ago. About 15 years ago, I purchased a similar X-wing, and you dang near had to be an engineer to build it. The S-foil mechanism was a series of gears and shafts, and if you didn't get it just right, the S-foils would not work right. Needless to say it left a bad taste in my mouth.This set was a nice surprise. The numbered bags made assembly a lot easier; everything was set up in components. A lot better than searching random bags for just one brick. The S-foil mechanism was simplified; a worm gear and a few planetary gears, and the instructions were pretty much foolproof. It took me about four days to finish it,

I still cannot believe I found this particular model on Amazon at MSRP, when every other retailer is asking for ridiculously inflated prices. I've always wanted an X-wing model, since I first watched the original Star Wars movie, but was never able to find a faithful replica until now. The model itself is what you would expect from Lego, especially being from the "Ultimate Collector Series".I love building things and this model is by far, one of the easier projects I've undertaken, but there is still a degree of difficulty involved and requires plenty of attention to detail. The finished model is the most rewarding part of the build, if you're a fan of the Star Wars franchise.

I got 4 StarWars Legos at the same time (Death Star, Imperial Shuttle, Millennium Falcon and this one) and I can almost say this is one of my favourites. Since its a collectors edition, it's meant for display, but could also be played with.. there are too many great details and accuracy. I would totally recommend this for a Lego StarWars fan.The assembling was by far the easiest since the bags are numbered and there is only one bag per # (except #4 that has 2 bags). This means you don't need too much room for building it since you go little by little.Too bad it doesn't come with any figures (I guess it is because its not for a Lego figure scale)

Another "must have" Lego set. Again item arrived in pristine condition where there were no creases, bends or tears in the Lego box. I keep the original Lego packaging so it matters that the packaging arrives without damage. Ok now on to the good stuff. The 10240 Red Five X-wing is amazing. It's my favorite X-wing after the Collector's series. It is a build that requires quite a few hours but the directions are clear and the detail of the images in the directions are easy to see. Very pleased with this set and it is now displayed next to the Lego Tie Fighter.

This set was my 5th Ultimate Collector Series lego set. Went together in about 4.5 hours. I paid more than it's worth, but it is a collectors edition and it is no longer in production. Mine had the pages in book 1 out of order and some were upside down, I just pulled the staples out, rearranged the pages correctly, then put the staples back, easy peasy. I'm an experienced lego builder, so I had no trouble. This set was simple enough a child under 10 could build it unsupervised (as long as book 1 is corrected) they may just take a few days to complete it.

I don't normally purchase LEGO's anymore, but this X-Wing had to be an exception. It's beautiful! The only downfall is it has some stickers but they seem to work better than other LEGO stickers because they are not peeling of falling off. Maybe I just took more care in putting these on. The X-Wing has always been one of my favorite Star Wars vehicles, how could it not? If you collect Star Wars LEGO, this is an item to deeply consider.

I bought for my nephew. Very fond of children and. Great damage during shipping the product box inconvenience, but the well-packed with helpful gift. Like to see the finished yesterday is more than good. I'd like to have one for my son a gift. However, the cost is formidable because of my situation seems unlikely. In fact, a gift to his nephew spent a great cost. Nephew will love seeing just happy to be happy.

It was very fun to build and has very detailed instructions. The only problem I had with it is when you put it on the display stand, it tends to leanback quite a bit. I had to stick a pen cap into the stand to get it to display the way it wanted it to. I would recommend this to anyone who is a Star Wars fan and anyone who enjoys to build legos.

So glad they remade this model. I use to have the old 7000 version which I handed down to my nephew (wish i had it back with the $$ theyre worth!, lol) This is a sturdier, easier model to build and makes a great addition to my others.Check out the star destroyer and b-wing. they are all amazing and look great when set up on stands.

My wife and I love Lego and we really enjoy working on building Lego sets together. Yes, this was expensive, but it's RED 5!!! Once together and on display we were so glad we spent the money. As with all the Lego kits we have bought over the years, the directions were perfect, all parts were there and it looks amazing!!!

After returning the first order, I ordered it again, from a different seller this time. The second time was the charm in this case! This was probably the most excited I e been for a completed build out of all my Lego Star Wars Collector's Series pieces. Perhaps it was the waiting, but it is a beautiful piece!
