We are big fans of Lego and Lego Friends in my home (well just my two children and me as sadly my husband just thinks of the sets as more teeny tiny pieces that he will eventually find under the couch or his bare feet at some point...) and so my children have been playing with this set and our other sets for the last few weeks very happily i.e. Lego bliss. There have been a few searches for the ball which has a habit of disappearing but the majority of the pieces for the set haven't done that many disappearing acts around the house yet and have always eventually been found. The set comes with an Andrea figure and a Martina figure. They both have summer bikini tops, skirts and sandals on.The set has two booklets with easy to follow instructions, five build bags and also comes with a sticker sheet. The set has five main parts to it as follows:Main Pool, Diving Board, Showers and Slides - measures approx 29cm long by 26cm wide by 19cm highHeart Jacuzzi and Day Bed Area - measures approx 13cm long by 5cm wide by 7cm highJuice Bar - measures approx 5cm long by 5cm wide by 9.5cm highLifeguard Tower - measures 4.5cm long by 5cm wide by 7cm highToilet Block - measures 6.5cm long by 4.5cm wide by 7.5cm highMain Pool Area:-The main pool area is absolutely fantastic with partial see through walls around the pool, large double shower area behind the pool, bar area with pool seating, lilo and swimming ring, ball, speakers, multi-level slide with plunge pool at the top and ladder, diving board with stairs and even a Lego aquarium! My one slight minor niggle is that if you don't have the Friends with their arms raised a bit, sometimes they stick on the blue curve of the slide but this is really a very minor niggle and my children have not been bothered by this when playing with the set. I love the new design slide and the realistic plunge pool at the top after the first yellow slide which makes the set much more like a water park pool than the older version and the blue slide is actually made up from three slide parts. The built in aquarium is a secret favourite of mine although my children haven't paid it much attention as it is sealed off from accessing it once it is built. The double showers behind the pool have even been paid the usual wonderful attention to detail that Lego does and have hot and cold taps and drainage bits on the floor. The diving board does have a spring to it with a little spring Lego part underneath it so that when being played with the figures can really be bounced into the pool.Heart Jacuzzi and Day Bed Area:-The Jacuzzi is in the shape of a heart after the name of the town Heartlake City and has little seats inside, a ladder for the Friends to get in and out and little bubble effects inside. The day bed has a lovely curtained shade canopy with little side table and stickers are applied to give the pattern on the seats.Juice Bar:-The juice bar is one of the simpler build pieces. It has a domed roof, pineapple stand and even a mini blender. The juice bar can be stood alone or propped up against the bar area of the pool to make it a pool bar (it doesn't attach to the pool).Lifeguard Tower:-This is also a simple piece to build and has a ladder to the lifeguards seat, safety ring and little lifeguard sign.Toilet Block:-This is a unisex toilet with swing doors and an outside cupboard. There are three stickers to apply inside the toilet and it has a toilet and sink inside.Building:-My children are both under the recommended minimum age for the set (6 years old) however they both helped me to build the set and my younger daughter is a bit of a Lego Ninja for her age and had no problems with a lot of the main building parts with my help, therefore I would say that this is a reasonably easy build. The set did take us around 3 hours to build but we do take our time when doing so.We actually own the older set

There is a tiny bit of me that is not too keen on the lego friends series. I'm not sure why everything has to be pinkified or pitched at a shopping, mansions & cute fluffy animals level for it to be appealing to young girls. That being said, I recognise that actually, this is the kind of thing that appeals to a particular segment of young girls, and if lego are able to engage that segment, and are able to get them playing with what is essentially a construction and engineering toy in an imaginative way, then who am I to complain really. Thus, this review will be based only the value of this kit, and the reaction it got from the small people I gave it to play with, and not my dislike of the strange realistic lego people in it and my nostalgic wish that they could still have little yellow faces...This is quite a complex large kit (in lego friends terms) so younger children may require extra support, particularly with putting on the fiddly stickers. Once made its a lovely kit, with pool, slides, jacuzzi, toilets, and smoothie bar - all of which can easily be encorporated into other lego friends (or just lego city etc) kits to make a bigger lego world. My neices particularly enjoyed playing with this kit,and it has now joined the ever growing box of lego which they can get out to play with when they come to visit. Of course, the best bit will be when the kit has lost its appeal as a feature, is dismantled and then recycled into something which will, I am very sure, be completely baffling and strange to me, but which they will get hours of enjoyment from.Keep on doing what you do, lego!

Having spent a lot of her time (and my money) on Lego friends, my nine-year-old daughter has been playing with this set pretty much every day for the last three weeks' playing with it every day. From an adult's point of view I find the whole Lego friends just a little one-dimensional because the child follows a series of detail diagrams (56 pages in this instance) to produce exactly what the designer intended. I have to say it requires a lot of concentration from one's child and should something go wrong where the child has moved on unsupervised it can take quite a lot of parental detective work to get the project back on course. My experience here is to always be around and set targets such as the number of pages my daughter can progress through and then stop so I can check. We probably spent three or four hours over a week getting this together and (as I mentioned at the start) my daughter just loves it. I am particularly pleased that the set includes Andrea and Martina (mini-doll figures) making it easier for my daughter to 'get in the zone'.Anything not to like? Well apart from the one-dimensional nature of the set, then no, no there isn't and given the enjoyment my daughters (my other daughter is aged six) get with the finished project then there isn't much to criticise (but you do need plenty of space because when it's built it's staying that way!

At 589 pieces this is a medium size set and another one of the 'Friends' range. My daughters are keen lego fans and when they are all out for it their bedroom is essentially a lego town. Great fun but walking in there is like a minefield. Although the only damage is an unusually angled and so sharp piece of lego jabbed into the foot. This 'summer pool' is a nice addition. The slide being a particularly approved of feature. Building it did require my assistance for some of the more tricky elements but generally this was constructed by my 7 year old on her own. It is a nice set but I'd like to see the slide, 'slide' a bit better and the number of accessory pieces is, when added to the other ones,is quite excessive. In many ways these little additional touches are what make lego charming - but when I was a boy we hardly had any of these. It was just a box of bricks. I still do wonder if the linear nature of these sets is entirely good - I wonder what children would do with a box of plain bricks now. But when all laid out together there is no doubt that I'd imagine building a lego village or town and it was, in comparison never as impressive as I wanted it to be. Indeed when I used some of my lego and built a house and put it next to these newer sets, it looked positively lame! Still, I liked it.

This is lovely and quite big Lego Friends set. Before Lego used to have list of all of the parts and amount of pieces on the back of the box, it’s not the case with this set therefore I’m not sure how many pieces it does contain but it is one of the biggest size boxes, at least from the Lego Friends series. It includes two figurines: Andrea and Martina. We had previously over 10 boxes of Lego, from which 7 or 8 were Lego Friends and my girls still were able to find many pieces they don’t have in their collection yet, including: ball, newspaper, pineapple, watermelon slice, shower and restroom signs, safety ring, sunglasses, star hair clip, coins and smoothie maker /blender.Mentioned shower and restroom signs along with other signs from the set are in reality plain tiles with separate stickers to be added. The stickers are of good quality and easy to re-position in case kids are finding it a bit tricky. The Heartlake Summer Pool set seems to be really good idea, everyone loves swimming pools and smoothies (!) Both of my girls: 6 and 11 enjoyed putting it together and now they are building city around it.

I have LEGO that goes back to when I was a child and we've added to that over the years as our children grew up and then with our grandson. So I would suggest that it is the sort of toy that is ageless in terms of it's appeal. Whilst this appears to be aimed more at the girls end of the LEGO market, it has just been subsumed into the accumulated LEGO that our grandson occasionally plays with if he's going through an engineering/building phase. This does form part of an overall group of LEGO sets around 'LEGO Friends'. There are numerous different elements to the playset that are listed in the product description: e.g. pool, hot tub, restroom, etc.As always with LEGO you can mix and adapt them with other LEGO sets/pieces you have to create your own world using your own imagination and can have great fun doing it. This playset is really cheerful in the way it's coloured and evokes memories of the beach and holidays. Great fun and engaging.

Oh my goodness, my daughter loves this set so much! We have the old Heartlake City Pool, but this new updated set is much bigger - the slide is bigger (it's kind of an extended two-piece slide with a balcony in the middle), the aquarium is really cute, and the moving diving board is so much fun! The pool accessories are really fun (love the floating ring!), and there's also a jacuzzi, bar, toilet and shower! It didn't take all that long to construct, maybe 90 minutes, but my daughter has been having fun playing with the set. She now wants to build the old set as well so that the two pools together will form a waterpark. Great fun!

I really like this lego set and the instructions are clear and well presented very creative kids toy for children however, it is a very small amount of lego for 40 pounds so if you looking for a large amount of lego it is not for you. The details are very nice and everything is as presented on the pictures. It takes a good amount of time to make, but there are some very small details which may not be ideal to make for a small toddler. You may also need a separate box to keep the lego if you are not making it all at once. Everything is very good for my daughters though, and I cannot find any criticisms of the set.

Lego Friends at it's best - this kit is such a great build. The aquarium part is so detailed and well thought out. It's amazing - can't recommend it enough - all ages - seriously (well if you're young at heart with a wonderful imagination and you can basically say 'I love it so who cares if I'm not 5 years old' HA! Have fun, enjoy life, enjoy the little things - who cares what anyone says - it will make you happy for an hour or two for sure ;)

I bought this as a well done gift for my 6 year old Daughter for her end of year school report. She was so excited from the moment she saw the box and wanted to get stuck in to building it straight away! Everything is so beautifully detailed and intricate. She spent several hours totally engrossed, and there’s plenty more for her to build. This is a fabulous gift that will rock any little girl or boys world for sure!!! Buy it!!

AMAZING!! My shy 5 yrs old's first big lego! She loves playing with it. Im amazed by the quality too, where lego has all grown since my childhood! Can strongly recommend!I am.planning to get a base board for it, or if you have a big table, thats good too. Scared small bits would get lost easily on carpet (saying that, my daughter is quite good so far not loosing even the tiniest bits).

The lego friends set is expensive but you do get your money's worth. It's a big set and quite complicated so bear in mind the bottom of the 6+ age group is probably based on play rather than make...little ones may need help with some parts. Overall it is a good set and recommend for fans of lego friends.

Good points: delivery was quick as always. It was brand new. Bought as a birthday present for 7 year old daughterBad points: my daughter won't let me play with it as it's "hers" and now we don't speak anymore. One day she'll crack though, as she's only 7. And I'm much older and better than her.

An excellent Lego set built by my 4 year old. The reason for giving it 4 stars is that the bottom plate is made up of 6 pieces and comes apart a bit too easily for my liking. Makes moving around a bit of a problem. Other than that the detail and variety of models is really amazing.

I was a bit sceptical of the price, I thought it would be too good to be true and I’d have a heartbroken little girl. However, it was all there and in perfect condition! Downfall: kids loose focus and spend hours crouched on the floor trying to build it
