This box of bricks doesn't pretend to be something it's not. It's pretty clear that it's a small collection of bricks to be noodled around with to create fun and fanciful items. What you see is what you get, and to be honest, what you get is pretty entertaining.I bought this for use in my classroom, as a motivator and a tool to use while problem solving. I spent time myself, when frustrated with work and needing a break, building a bizarre little pink house, and I was thoroughly entertained. Is this set spare on pieces? Yes. But what's included is listed directly on the box, so there's no room for disappointment. Is the box cardboard? Yeah, but that's very apparent from photographs.I don't think the lower cardboard portion of the box will last very long, but I know the bricks inside will last forever. Even though it's a small set of bricks, the possibilities are endless, and the best part about these kinds of collections is that you can always add more pieces. It's a great addition to any classroom, any toy room, and the desk of anyone who needs an occasional stress reliever.

The box set arrived yesterday and for the price i'd say it is excellent value.I bought this along with another, larger set for my 5 year old son to use for free play. The set comes in a card box with a plastic lid. The colours are vibrant and fun with lots of interesting shapes. I think the eyes are a great little addition. The instructions are good, for each stage you only need to find up to 3 different types of brick (though mostly it's 1 or 2) and are really good for young kids who know how to recognise numbers 1-6. The booklet has instructions for the sheep, the pencil, the house and the plane. Instructions for the car, the cow and the lighthouse are online.Personally I think it would have been better to include the lighthouse in the instructions booklet but despite this it's still a great set.The set allows you to build some lovely little mini models and also allows for some creative play. I will be keeping this in mind for the next time I need to buy a kids party gift (or maybe certain adults I know!).

I first started building Lego sets in February of this year. I mainly stuck with the sets, but recently created a city park. It consists of several different small bagged sets, the Pizza truck and I also used the fun in the park set. I placed it all on a 5" X 10" green baseplate and put a white picket fence around the outside border along with street lights. To top it all off there is a decorative fountain in the middle of the park surrounded by a walk way. I have read several people complain about the cardboard box this set is in but the small set fits inside the medium box very well and then you only need one box.I hope to continue building a lot of things with my 2 sets of classic Legos.

Bought this bucket for my youngest grandson, age four. There are not a lot of bricks inside when the packets are emptied they equate to about 20% of the bucket space. However, there is a very good mix and selection of various types of bricks etc to build several complete projects, though likely not all at once. My grandson built (well, his mum did!) the helicopter and played endlessly with it. For the money a very good buy, I would recommend based on the good selection and choice of things to build from it's contents.

I like this parts set! There is a nice color variety which I really needed in my part collection. I've already used some of them for MOCs! I also appreciate some of the specialized pieces like the wheels, the door and window, the flowers, etc. I would also like to mention the nice hard-cardboard box with the plastic lid that this set comes in. I use it to store extra parts. So even the box has some value here! This is a great cheap way to get nice a variety of pieces and a good storage box!

We wanted to introduce our 4 year old to Lego that would spark his imagination rather than need him to follow a big set of instructions. This did exactly that. They are now much more interested in Lego than they have been in Duplo. The box it comes in is great, but being cardboard it may need replacing at some point (although 3 months later on it is still in good condition so may last longer than I originally thought.

Bought this for our little one for xmas and she loves it! Hours of fun. Have added to the collection since this purchase and we now enjoy making, houses, castles, animals, aeroplanes. Great fun on a rainy day and no doubt will be plenty of those in the winter!!! Only thing I would recommend is they should come with maybe a person in rather than having to buy these seperately all the time.

I liked the idea of keeping the tub to separate/store lego in... FYI the lid is plastic, the tub is cardboard! This is my reason for a star less. The bright Lego content is cool for encouraging imaginative creations, there's a small guide included to get going.Best part: there is a handy tool in this set to help kids get bricks unstuck... it helps grown ups too.

Why didn't LEGO put ALL of the ideas in the manual!? It seems like you HAVE to go on a computer in order to get the rest of the ideas from a classic set. Plus, if your internet is NOT working, and you want to get ALL the ideas, it would be so irritating! So, it's extremely POINTLESS to have some of the ideas online instead of having ALL the ideas in the manual.

Although I have over 30,000-40,000 LEGO elements in my collection, I found this set to be a great expansion to the pieces I have already. The set has great diversity in the kinds of pieces that are included. It would be an awesome set for beginners or for experts. Awesome idea LEGO, and keep 'em comin'!

My son had great fun building this set, although not all instructions were available in the box and I had to download some off the internet. Would have been better to have them all printed. I was also a little disappointed at the cardboard box as was expecting plastic but still does the job

Bought as a extension set for my grandson, great for travel not to big or to small comes in a handy size box. It is a small size set but in my opinion still offers great value. Ideas booklet has a nice range of mini lego builds that is not to over complicated for five/six year olds.

I bought this for my son. He's never really liked the sets that come with the bricks to make just what's on the box. This set and the other Lego Classic boxes allow him to use his imagination or make lots of different models. Just like the old days!

We got this as a birthday gift for my son and it was his first lego experience. He enjoyed it thoroughly. The book and instructions are super easy to follow for any novice buildier. It was real fun for him and also great as fine motor skill activity.

I thought this box was just a mixture of bricks not planned builds. I was wrong. Saying that it can be used for that. Big box gives the impression there will be more pieces and the box is cardboard. Still good for the money though.
