There is little to be said about Lego that has not already been said in spades - but I'll give it a go.I gave this set to my grandchildren - twins - boy and girl. And it is interesting to see how they use it. Both have been brought up with no difference in toys and indeed it has always been a delight to me to find my granddaughter has zero interest in dolls but knows all about dinosaurs and trucks.But, recently I have noted that differences are showing. Without a doubt my granddaughter is more emotional and 'soft' compared to my grandson. He see's something vaguely scary advertised on the TV and wants to watch it (no chance) whilst my granddaughter immediately wants nothing to do with it.

When it comes to Lego, anyone who's read any of my previous reviews of the toy will know that I'm generally a fan. If you want something from the range that'll probably take you fully back to childhood though then look no further - these are about as typical as you get. I unboxed the 450 odd pieces including 14 pairs of eyes to check it out.As you'd expect, the construction pieces offered here are a wide range of colours, including many of the newer hues and generally complimentary tones. As for playability, instructions are provided for some basic animals, a shop and some vehicles and the like though is really down to the user - something that'll definitely prompt creativity.

As a Lego fan already, having built many of the creator and city sets, this starter set was a refreshing change and a lot of fun to play with..As usual, Lego provide very easy to follow instructions on how to create some great little models This set was a little different to some other starter type sets I've had, in that there was larger selection of brick colours and types. It also included a selection of eyes to add to the models, which was great. Actually, i spent a fair bit of time trying to work out what sets the different bricks had originated from.In addition to the models, there were still plenty of components left over to make up your own models or add to other sets.

This is a very well thought out and flexible Lego set, with multiple building kits for making sharks, submarines, a rabbit and a pumpkin. I made a couple of these kits with my 5 year old grandson and he followed the instructions well and progressed carefully through each page.Having had some fun making a few kits with the different sets of eyes included, in the end we decided to add the set to the grandchildren's master box of Lego for general use. The colourful sets of bricks, including pink, purple and blue variations, definitely add some interesting options to the usual Lego colours.I have had the dubious honour of using non-Lego branding but familiar looking plastic building bricks,

We got this for my 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter to add to their Lego collection and they love it. The main thing with this set is you can create all sorts of different animals and creatures with the included guide book. You get a lot of different eyes and different standard lego parts and when added to their existing lego they really have come up with some interesting creatures. As ever the quality of what you get is up there with the best quality toys you could get and will outlast the child/adult who plays with it. Would of been nice to include a little storage box as there are so many pieces but I suppose that would put the price up.

These classic packs give you the bits you need for a varied collection of shapes, colours and sizes.This kit comes with a handful of instructions for small models - a shopfront, some animals - and is perfect for any child who finds Lego kits often veer a lot towards vehicles. The main draw is that it comes with many curves and slopes, and many eyes, so kids can start creating all kinds of animals and monsters, which again is a nice change from the usual vehicles.450 bricks at this price is excellent, and a great addition to your collection.

Lego has been around for so long that you forget that they actually make starter sets.This LEGO Classic Bricks and Eyes construction set is a brilliant 'starter pack' especially for younger childrenThe eyes really do have it as the saying goes.You get a wonderful selection of eyes and bricks to make a fabulous never-ending set of creatures and creations.I especially liked the inclusion of the lego separator which makes things a lot easier for younger and the not so young

Please see photos uploaded.This is a good mix of colours and small pieces. There are a few wheels and a packet of eyes to make some quirky models.The included model instructions are cute and achievable! Our four and seven year olds have been able to independently follow and complete some lovely models.As always, larger bricks are few and far between in this Lego set.Overall, a fun and useful set that adds to our collection nicely. Great!

The set is good fun with a number of fun characters and toys with some wheels. There are a lot of eyes so you can add these to your other Lego. The instructions are easy to follow and my 6 and 9 year olds enjoyed making them. It seems a little overpriced for what you get, but if you want eyes then this is a great option. The helicopter and submarine are favourites.

We bought this for our five year old and he loves it. The instructions are easy to follow and he can build most of the models by himself. His only criticism is that there are not enough wheels, to build vehicles when he is creating his own designs. However there are lots of eyes which we also like. (lego did not come with eyes when mummy and daddy were little!)

This is a brilliant set! It comes with instructions as usual, our 5 year old isn't capable if following them on his own but with daddy's help he can make quite a few different models. His favourites are the piranha and the pumpkin! Despite the name suggesting it is simply "bricks and eyes" it's actually so much more! Love it!

A good variety of pieces. Comes with a book to make some things. My daughter however gets stuck into making these and is finding it tricky to deviate and use her imagination to make her own things. I’m sure this will come later at some point!

Got this for an 8yr old and 4yr old to play with to assist with some rainy days. We poured out on to the rug and we spent an hour or so building our own models. Great selection of bricks and easy way to spend some quality time together.

soon as i recieved, gave to my son in law and grandson who is 3. they started building away had fun together making things, i just sat back and watched them have fun.
