The very first bit that was put into the extension (the standard one that comes with the Surge) got stuck and will not budge.I've tried using the pliers of the Surge to remove it - won't budge.Seems to be a common problem with the extension.NOT happy.****EDIT***So I managed to solve the problem with a squirt of WD40 and a strong grip with the pliers. The spring inside needed wearing in - now it has done (after replacing/removing the bit a few times) it's fine. So, my initial 1 star review I've altered to a 4.Remember, if at first it seems your stuck, a little WD40 sprayed into the bit hole will probably help.

The reach of the bits on my Charge TTi isn't the best so this seemed like a good idea. It's a well made piece of kit although rather pricey even as £11.99.The bits fit well into the tool itself but the bits, being a "flattened" hex shape could be tighter - add the fact that the larger hex bits (and some others) are flattened too and you have two areas where you aren't getting full leverage - works fine but feels a bit like you're using a flat head screwdriver to do a hex bit's job. But it's a necessary part of the design and keeps in compact. For the smaller hex bits and screwdrivers/torx bits it works fine.

As with all Leatherman products, this is a well-built and engineered piece of kit. However it is, for all intents and purposes, a piece of metal with a fitting on one end to attach to the Leatherman and with a fitting on the other to accept bits and therefore a little pricey (in my opinion!). What is ingenious about the bit holder is that will also fit 'standard' (i.e. non-Leatherman, hexagonal) bits from any bit kit, ...something to think about before you buy the bit kit (if you're planning on using your Leatherman at home, where you probably already have a drill bit screwdriver set!).

I have the Skeletool, I have the extra bits, I have the nylon pouch. Now I have the extender and I am absolutely delighted. It is well engineered from a single piece of metal. It fis in the pouches side elasticsted pocket. It fits well in the Skeletool, firmly, no wobble, and the bits fit in the end like normal, you just slip them in. The fitment of the bits is very snug and requires a little brute force to remove. I intend to be buried with my Skeletool just in case the Ancient Egyptians were right, as it is in life, this would be invaluable in the afterlife.

Bought to go with my Charge TTI. Extends the screwdriver bit well out from the main body of the tool, making it more useful. Still small enough to be a practical size to carry with the Leatherman. There is a small amount of movement of the bit when inserted, but not a problem. The other end locates very firmly in place. The textured surface gives good grip (enough to use on its own for a screw not needing too much force). A bit pricey for what it actually is, but it adds much more practicality to an already great multi tool.

It extends the reach of your leatherman making it much more like a screwdriver. Where it locates in the leatherman is in the flat hole where your existing screw bit goes, but interestingly it extends to a hexagonal end. The brilliant design of the screw bits means they fit in this hex in the same way they fitted into their original hole in the leatherman.Even better is that the hex ending means you can now attach any number of after market "bits".Has really extended the usefulness of my favourite toy.

This allows you to use normal hex screw driver bits as well as the Leatherman flat bits. It even fits nicely in the leather sheath that comes with the Leatherman Surge. If you don't need to be carrying the Leatherman bit kits with you, then use this bit extender with a nice set of normal bits - Lidl usually have reasonable quality and modestly priced bit kits in from time to time.

I bought this thingy for a trip into Africa. The Surge that I bought it for is a truly great piece of equipment but this simple piece of metal takes its usefulness to another level. It fits neatly into the Surge's leather holder. Yes, "how did I live without it?" is a bit of an overstatement but I'd never have guessed how useful this thing would be.

I bought this item for my Skeletool CX - it turns the Leatherman into a full length (and full strength) screw driver. The bit driver also fits hexagonal bits and the flat Leatherman bits - making it very useful. Bits clip into the driver extension so that they do not fall out. This is very solid piece of kit - well made.

brilliant, withstands a huge ammount of torque. Leatherman products are just worth every cent.fits in one of the sides of the nylon sheath (albeit not very securely)enables you to use any of the leatherman bits (flat) or the regular Hex bits that you might have elsewhere (no need to carry a handle around)A++

Excellent product and works just as it should, giving more reach for the bit kit tips on my Leatherman Wave. This is about the best price ive seen this Leatherman Bit Extension for. Great service from the seller as it came well packaged and was posted very promptly.

An expensive but very useful addition to my surge quality is good as expected from Leatherman but I do find leathermans and own bits jam in position and need to be pulled out with pliers, it doesn't happen every time but often enough to be annoying.

Well it does what it's designed to do but..... I have found that sometimes when I need an extender it needs to be thin and long, this is too fat to get into some places. So it's expensive really but will be ok for some jobs but others it's useless.

This is an idela bit of kit if you use your Leatherman for as much as I do (a lot). It wont replace all your tools in your tool box but with this and the extra bit's you can buy it makes the Leatherman even more useful. Can't fault it.

a very effective tool. A bit expensive. I had a gift voucher to use so it wasn't too painful. This adaptor lets you use Leatherman flat-style bits AND proper hex driver bits. This is a great feature that makes the purchase worthwhile.
