My SwissTool is nearly a decade old, and several of the blades were sticking (trying to open just one would usually result in at least one other blade coming out as well). A good wash in warm water, the first stage of Victorinox's maintenance routine, if anything made the problem worse. However, just the tiniest suggestion of this oil on the joints has made it like new. In fact, I wouldn't even like to say that the blades come out and go back in even more smoothly than when I bought it. A few strokes of the Victorinox knife sharpener and it's ready for another decade. I absolutely could not fault the result. The quibble over the price is probably fair comment, and I wouldn't like to swear that a drop or two of 3-in-1 or similar wouldn't have had the same effect, but you know what Swiss engineers can be like; your Victorinox is probably rigged to explode within seconds of touching a non-brand oil. Given that my SwissTool is now as good as new again, you could argue that I've saved nearly £100 on buying a new one, and I used such an insignificant amount of oil doing so that I'll never have to buy another bottle of this oil. Your call.

This stuff is a must have for me now, i use my swiss army knife every day so it gets a lot of use so i need to keep the joints lubricated if i dont want that awful grinding feeling when opening the tools! This stuff lasts a long time as you only need a tiny drop, i bought mine over 6 months ago and have used it on all of my knives (i have a lot of victorinox knives) and i clean my main one every weekend then re oil it and i am still not even quater of the way through this, so yes it may be expensive but the price is well worth the quality!

The oil goes a long way, so do not worry about how small the bottle is. It does not take much. I re-oiled my entire Victorinox Swisschamp knife and the bottle barely looks like any is missing. This oil is great. The fact that it meets NSF H1 requirements means it is a food grade lubricant and is safe to use on items that may come into contact with food(like food processing equipment). Bottom line, highly recommended! You wont regret it over another lubricant(and trust me, I have tried several).

OK one person said because it is a highly engineered oil it has a premium price which is true, BUT even so it shouldn't be this expensive, the product it's self is extremely high quality but it shouldn't have a high price for 5ml. So just for this I deducted a star, but if used responsibly and when needed it should last a while, one drop is all you need on each pivot. If victorinox decides to make it a 10ml or even a 15ml for the same price then that would make it five stars. Hope this helps.

I marked this down one star because the size is SO SMALL. C'mon Victorinox you can do better, at least give us 2 ounces! I will say this lubricant is fantastic functionally. I used it on an Opinel pocket knife and it work wonders. I would buy again but I will hold out until I see a larger size if possible. The shape and functionality of the container works great by allowing you to be very precise on the point of application so you don't make a mess of things.

Lot of people moaning about the cost & how small it is!Clearly says how big the bottle is.…just don't buy it if you don't like the price. The oil itself is great, washed my classic SD that was alittle grubby after years in the pockets, dried it & oiled & its like new!You could use 3in1 oil or WD40 but none of these are food grade lubricants…this is so no problem using it on knives etc that you might prep food with.

This is quite a viscous oil so it works perfectly for multi tools, mechanisms on pens and other such applications. The bottle is small but a tiny drop of oil goes a very long way and tends to stay put so it's actually excellent value for money. If you have a sticky tool on your Leatherman or the mechanism on your titanium machined pen feels rough this is the perfect solution. Very highly recommended.

Ok it's a bit small, but a little goes a long way, and I prefer using the official oil on my Swiss Army Knives. Mainly this is because it's food-safe, and sometimes I cut fruit so it's worth it. Basically I'm pleased but dropping a star since they could give a bit more oil for the money, c'mon guys.

This oil is very expensive for the amount you get, but literally one drop on each pivot will make your Swiss Army knife feel like new. Even my 25 year old Swiss Champ feels like new again thanks to this. Much better than 3 in one or the like! Worked great on my leatherman too!

Worked as advertised. The tools on my Swiss knife were barely openable, but this product did the trick. From the reviews I thought the bottle would be smaller, but it's size was what I expected. Plus, I used a decent amount and barely made a dent.

Bit pricey, but don't spoil the ship for halfpence worth of tar. This oil will have a unique viscosity to it,for the Swiss Army knives. It is small but I goes a long way.If you have one these lovely knivets it is worth getting the best for the job.

I've had my Swiss Army knife forever and recently found that some of it's elements were very difficult to open – scissors, small blade, cork screw. This oil did exactly what it advertised; now everything is moving freely, opening with ease.

This is old stock, since 2018 Victorinox no longer make 5ml, it’s now 10ml product reference 4.3302. £5 plus delivery direct from Victorinox at time of writing. I managed to buy some from Amazon, same stuff, twice as much of it!

Genuine swiss army knife oil that comes on the knives when new , makes all the difference after you clean your knives would have given it a five star but was a little pricey at the time of writing .

Very smooth operation with a tiny amount. Worth the money. Its food approved oil. Meaning it can be used on machinery that prepares food! So fear not when you cut that Swiss Cheese!
