Owners of the SwissCard Lite keep harping on that it does not contain a 'real' knife; except I disagree. Although Victorinox state the detectable blade is a 'letter opener' instead of a 'knife', to me it's still a blade because it is razor sharp, therefore it must be a blade. Also this neat little blade is the same size as found on the smaller SAKs, such as the Victorinox Signature Lite, except it's little broader and a fraction of a millimeter thinner. I'm amazed that the SwissCard takes up no more space in my wallet than 4 standard credit cards. It is a marvel how Victorinox packed so many useful little tools into a card, make them detachable and highly versatile. The stainless steel used in its '4-in-1'square is actually a bit softer, but was deliberately made to be so the tool bits won't break under pressure - the same with the flat bladed screwdriver found on the larger models. This makes the SwissCard Lite incredibly versatile. The magnifying glass is 5x magnificationThe LED contained in the card and its switch combining a battery compartment is an engineering feat. It is amazing because every single one of its 13 tools work, including the pressurized ballpoint pen that even works upside-down! And work so well as to receive the Red Dot Award.Tip: if you are travelling by plane, take out the card's blade or the whole card may be confiscated by airport security. Make a point of showing the security officer will be appreciated.I love how the scissors close up when slid back into the card. They appear to be exactly the same scissors found on the larger SAKs and the whole card easily fits any slim bi-fold wallet. Interesting that Victorinox even make a genuine leather wallet for this card, and that it is excellent value when bought from Amazon, because elsewhere it's much more expensive. The Victorinox Swiss Card Lite deserves 10 Stars.

Until Victorinox take their head out of the sand, this is their only product with a removable knife. Because I wasn't going to Japan without some sort of emergency stuff (very strict knife laws), this little thing worked fine. While the tools can be a bit more fiddly, if you have to leave the trusty SAK at home because you're worried about carrying around a blade, this is a good bladeless alternative, and unlike the handful of other multitools, is OBVIOUSLY bladeless, no worries about anyone confiscating it because it looks like a Swiss Army Knife and they don't have time to check every attachment to prove that you're right. While I still wouldn't take it on the actual plane,it was a comforting thing to have in the wallet when I was out and about, and saw (and will probably continue to see) a good bit of use.

I lost my last one of these and as I hate to be without this amazing tool I had to replace it as soon as possible. The gadgets are so useful especially the pen, knife, tweezers, the light on this version, etc...... It takes up very little room in a handbag or glove compartment and weighs very little so there's no excuse not to carry one everywhere for those unexpected moments. Makes a brilliant present for the person who has everything. But remember it won't go through airport security, you'll need to pack it in hold luggage or it'll get confiscated. They're not exactly cheap but are well worth the money.

I always keep a Swiss army compact pen knife in my pocket so much so I always have 2 or 3 in the drawer when I lose one, this card has been in my wallet/s for last 5yrs or soHave not used it much- the pen quite a lot and the scissorsYesterday the blade saved me, I was going round our flock of sheep only to find a ewe hp getting strangled by baling twine atttched to a fence on a steep bank when I got close she slipped down the bank with twisted twine round her neckWent for my knife - not there- 10 seconds I remembered the card/knife. =. one happy to be breathing ewe!

They've added one or two new items since I last bought one of these. Most welcome was the little flashlight (or torch for those of you playing at home). Haven't used the multi-head screwdriver (yes!) so I cannot say if it will actually cave in under pressure... but it will certain turn a screw that's reasonably willing to be turned. Mag glass good too, but they could have made it a bit more powerful, and a shade larger. As before, the things I'll use most will be the blade, the scissors and the pen; all of which are the same as in the last model. Good stocking-filler.

Excellent product, I have had mine for 10 years. The plastic over the scissors is a bit thin and has cracked just below the battery slot; the battery is still good, but mine has a red LED installed, which is not as good as the white one. Do remember if Airport security try to confiscate it, you only have to give them the knife and scissors for it to be ok for you to keep the rest of it. Then replace tHe knife a scissors from a Victorinox shop or on-line afterwards. It does work as I did this and it is a lot cheaper than having to buy a new one.

Exactly as I expected. High quality tools. You could probably shave with the knife (I haven't tried) as it is razor sharp. The leverage on the scissors depends on the strength of your thumb, but strong and sharp enough to comfortably cut through 5 sheets of paper. I didn't think the square quatro screwdriver could possibly work due to lack of leverage potential, but it surprised me how well it did! I Didn't expect to be able to find a use for the steel rod, but I did, and the light is small but powerful for close up work.

I've already written a review and can't find it to update...I have a complaint. I keep this fantastic piece of kit in my little wallet side pocket. Unfortunately the light button keeps being inadvertently activated and the battery is permanently dead. This is kinda a bummer when you NEED the light....and it's dead. I've given up feeding mine new batteries now; they were just illuminating my lack of funds and pocket insides. Needs a lock on the light switch please.

This is an updated version of the original Swiss Card released around 15 years ago. It retains the credit-card dimensions of the original, albeit a slightly thick credit card, but now also comes with a white LED light and a clever multiple head screwdriver and a magnifying glass. The card, now in translucent plastic (hence the `Jelly' reference), is very lightweight and represents ingenious design. The letter opener is also a pretty effective small, sharp, knife.

This is one of those gadgets... you don't realise how very useful it is until you've got one!The Swiss card lite is the same width as most credit/debit/store cards, slightly shorter than these, and about the same thickness as 4 cards piled on top of each other. It seems to fit reasonably well (if a little snugly) into card slots in e.g. wallets, purses, personal organisers. If you aren't happy with the fit Victorinox do make a dedicated leather storage pouch

At several points in every person's life, they're going to run into a situation in which they need one of the tools contained within this card yet don't have access to one. This really has been incredibly useful within the somewhat short period of time that I've had this. The build quality, as you'd expect from Victorinox, is excellent. Reasonable price, very handy, easy to stash in your car, wallet, purse, bag.

This was a gift for my wife and she was thrilled with it. She has been thinking of buying one ever since her small knife was confiscated at Singapore airport, (we'd been told at Heathrow that it wouldn't be a problem). Lesson learned, won't carry it in hand luggage! It has a good number of tools. including scissors and a pen, plus a mag glass for the small print and a very useful ballpoint pen. Recommended.

This is a fantastic piece of gear, comes with a lot of helpful tools, used all for a variety of situations. Super lightweight and out of the way, you'll only realize it's there when you need it. Lost mine after a few years as it got picked up by a metal detector at the Olympics as I forgot I was carrying it, so it got taken away. Definitely ordering another as Amazon is the cheapest I can find them

This is the most useful item in my handbag! I've had one for years and have lost count of the number of times one of its items has saved the day for me. It's light and small to carry and I've just bought another for my daughter. There are various genuine Victorinox versions (not all have that four-star shaped screwdriver). Don't be tempted to buy a copy that is of inferior quality.

I lost my first one of these (purple) after several years of useful service. My Swiss Army knife has most of the same features but just isn't flat. Now my new red one with screw drivers and a light has arrived. I am pleased that the light is white rather than red. I wonder how I will change the little battery when the time comes? And I am pleased I only had to pay £9.99!
