This is my first experience with a KitchenCraft product. The kettle was well packaged. Included in the box is the kettle itself and a simple set of instructions/care information. The kettle is quite light in weight but feels sturdy. It is well designed and I was pleased with the overall stainless steel finish. The grey colour is aesthetically pleasing/Water is added to the top by removing the top lid, and it can hold up to 1.4L of water. I found the top lid was a little stiff to remove and insert, but I think this must be to ensure a proper boil. The large handle is ergonomic and comfortable to hold, even when the kettle is completely filled. The handle is has a rubber texture, which provides good grip.To boil water after filling, you simply need to place the kettle on a stove. The base of the kettle has a large surface area and is made from stainless steel. Once water has boiled, the whistle will blow and let off a small amount of steam. I really liked this feature. The whistle is not too loud to deafen you, but sufficiently audible to be heard. This has really brightened up my mornings! I have not yet noticed any deterioration in the stainless steel base after boiling water.Conclusively, this is a very well made kettle that has a vintage feel. I normally boil water in a pan, and this has provided to be a worthwhile alternate to that. The item descriptions states that this can be used for camping, and I am really looking forward to taking this with me. As I mentioned, it is quite light in weight, so ideal to travel with. I would definitely recommend this kettle. 5/5

This is a really nice looking kettle. The soft grey body is very smooth and shiny, while the rubberised handle and whistle look modern and retro at the same time. It would look good in any kitchen, and the sound of the whistle is wonderfully nostalgic. But would you ever use it? We all use electric kettles because you can see how much water's in them and they boil really fast. This kettle also needs a bit of care because you have to open the hot spout with a cloth before pouring out the water (it pours nicely by the way and the sprung spout closes with a nice old-fashioned clunk). The main handle gets a bit warm too so you might need a cloth for that, and for taking off the tight-fitting lid to refill it.And of course, it takes rather longer to boil than an electric kettle. But does any of that matter? Probably not if you really want the nostalgia of a whistling kettle. Or if you want a kettle for decoration in your kitchen or to have as a backup for when the electric one inevitably gives up the ghost. Or you want one for your boat or caravan. The kettle comes in a very attractive retro-style box.

This is just the thing for a retro styled kitchen, pretty in pleasing shades ours is (grey), and every bit as practical as it looks. Filling-up is via the removable lid on the top, so it’s a two-handed affair. So far, so traditional. The black fittings are plastic, bit of acid-etched finish to give them a tactile non-slip quality, and a matt finish. It looks very heavy, but is actually not heavy at all. It just looks like those heavy old kettles. It works fine on a gas hob. Not tried it on an induction hob, but we can see no reason why it would not perform just as well.Downsides are almost none. It’s not huge, so perhaps not great for a group brew-up, but plenty big enough for a family wanting to make a pot of tea.It comes very nicely packed in a colourful box, so would make a pleasing gift. For someone setting up home, it would be an ideal starter for a kitchen. So, for a vintage look without a wild price tag, this kettle is well worth a look.

The colour of the kettle in a pastel grey colour and the overall aesthetic look of the kettle is rather pleasing with a retro look. The only down side to the design is the clip at the bottom end of the handle connecting it to the kettle looks as though there is a fault with the way it is connected, but causes no issues with the use of the kettle.I intend to use the kettle on a gas camping hob, but the kettle is suitable for all types of cooking tops. Upon testing it took around 10mins to boil on a ceramic hob, There was a very slight leak of steam coming from the seal on the lid, but other than that seemed fine.It whistled correctly to let you know it was at the correct temperature and the hinged whistle cap flipped back with ease to allow you to pour.

This vintage inspired stove top kettle would look great in any kitchen. I love the rubber grip handle and easy to lift spout cover....reduces the risk of accidental burns!!It is grey in colour, holds 1.4 litres and works on any stove top. The advert says it is perfect for camping as well but we haven't tried it out as we don't go camping!!The kettle whistles loud enough to be heard in another room so you won't miss it when ready!!A lovely combination of functionality and design.

Lovely old time kettle with a whistle when done. Arrives in a nice box and is attractive to look at with its soft handle. This version is stainless steel - there are others which are cheaper. In use it's a simple affair. It boils a max of 1.4 litres. So why buy an old fashioned kettle whern an electric one can be had for the same or less? For me it just feels and sounds nice to have a kettle on the stove as it is to have a toast under the grill. It somewhow tastes better.

A rather splendid kettle for those times when the electricity goes off but you still have gas, or when you've gone camping. Coolish touch handle (unlike my old enamel one) and an attached lid and whistle (much more muted than I remember) so won't lose the whistle. Not a big capacity, and takes longer than an electric kettle. This would be brilliant for an aga or a wood burning stove.

A good retrostyle stove top 'whistling kettle'. This one is slightly smaller and not quite as high quality others I have seen such as from K-Mix or Russell Hobbs,There is a lot of plastic but the main part of the kettle is enamelled steel. The whistle works well and it works on all hobs, including induction.Recommended and good value

This kettle is the biz. It's lightweight and although it appears petite it fills a pot full!! The water also seems to stay hot for longer in it and I've been able make a 2nd cuppa with the same boil and it's still perfectly warm. The whistle is just wonderful. I love it and wouldn't go back to an electric kettle!

We absolutely love our kettle but there is one little issue. There's a metal disc which should ideally sit snugly inside the spout lid.Unfortunately, almost every time we use it, it comes out. We have to leave it for a while before we can reattach it as it's very hot (for obvious reasons).Otherwise, love it!

Brought to replace my Dads old kettle - he is over the moon with it - lovely LOUD whistle an Dad being hard of hearing is a big plus - lovely size just enough for two and gentle grey colour - very nice - sturdy too and the handle not heating up is another big bonus

espite some negative reviews I previously read I decided to order this item and found it great. Ideal size for a couple or a small family. Easy to fill and clean. Handle doesn't get too hot and surface hasn't come off at all.

If you want a traditional style whistling kettle, you can't go too far wrong here. It's got that traditional style, is pretty solid and is an excellent price. Not only that, but you can use on induction hobs. Win!

This little kettle is the perfect size for 2 or 3 people. It looks good and the cream colour goes really well with my kitchen. It boils really quickly on my induction hob, and has a nice whistle.
