I needed a reasonable sized kettle to take on my camping trips. Size not a problem as not backpacking and will be static, so the primary issue was size and I wanted a whistling one as it's easy to get distracted when out in the wilderness of England (Yes, I know, it's called irony) so this would remind me to turn it off. Also it won't be sitting on firewood or coal but on a camping stove which is good as the botto, just like the side of the kettle is made of thin metal and I don't think it would do too well.Tested it a home also to get rid of the new kettle smell and thisis my conclusion:1. Does the job well enough. Once water gets boiling properly you do get a nice whistle.Someone said it was more a gurgling but that' sjust when it starts. Its loud enough and proper whistle when the boil is good.2. Handle does get hot on the kitchen stove. Don't know why really as no direct flame.3. Already mentioned bottom and side very thin, so a bit of care needed.4. Outer side has signs of burning after only a couple of uses on kitchen stove where flames have overlapped the bottom.5. Water boiled in reasonable time. Can't complain about that. Does what it says on the tin....6. Really hold less than 2 usable liters. the 2.5 advertised refers to the fact that you can fill it to the brim but that is pointless as at leat 1.2 a liter is above the spout. No idea why manufacturers try and con us that way. Luckily I was aware of the fact.7. Make sure you don't boil dry. It will definitely melt very quickly (See mention about thinness). That's it. Some wins, some losses, but for less that £7 I really can't complain and am happy that it will do what I bought it far.

The low-pitched moan, rather than a whistle, realty defines character and soul. I have called her Mary. Just like a woman, it is her imperfections that I find most attractive. For this reason I am more than satisfied. If there is a power cut in the middle of Winter. Because anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, at the most inconvenient time. My central heating is runs off a Comby boiler. When my electricity is spitefully cut off by greedy energy companies, prohibited from ripping us off even more, using the lie that they can't afford to invest in the infrastructure.... Regardless of the fact that they hyped their prices after Ed Millidand opened his gob about freezing energy prices.I have no gas. I am however, now prepared. With my butane gas cooker, what a champion little solution to becoming a victim of energy company malicious greed. I love it. Yes. it's a camping thing I know. But in the event of deliberate power cuts in mid Winter to grind us all into submission. With a plentiful stash of butane gas canisters, I can now have hot drinks for a few weeks until matters are resolved. If you are after a crisis management solution, then this little kettle together with one of those portable butane gas stoves (Not forgetting the butane gas heater and a plentiful stash of food) is just the ticket. Paranoid? Who? Me? When (Not if) the energy companies carry out their industrial action, under the guise of their financial doom, don't come knocking on my door for a hot cuppa.

I love this kettle. This blue one is my second. I made some mistakes with the first one so here is what I learned.: firstly, don't have the flame too high or you will discolour the sides of your kettle. Secondly, don't leave it on the hob when you are cooking other food. The surface of the kettle is not scratch proof and if you have to scrub it you will damage the surface. The only reason I got rid of my first one was that it looked so shabby. My new kettle is being treated with more care and so far is just as good as new. I looked at many reviews for many different kettles and even kettles that were much ,much more expensive had the same problems. This kettle comes in a range of beautiful colours ,is light weight and sturdy with a fold down handle so whether you want it for home or camping it is great. Also , just in case you didn't know...don't fill a hob kettle to the top it needs an air space. Someone else can explain the science .

Received the package promptly! Arrived within couple days of ordering. I love my little tea kettle! It's such a lovely shade of green and is quite sturdy. The handle is nice and sturdy as well and it has the cutest whistle ever! Definitely loud enough to hear! It also heats up quite quickly and my tea is ready in no time! You do have to be careful to fill it up only to the spout, which is a bit of a shame but I still manage to get at least 4 huge mugs, which is more than enough for me. It's so easy to clean as well. It would have been perfect if it had a built in tea strainer for loose leaf tea but it's a quick fix anyway, so not a big deal at all! Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the quality of the product.Definitely get value for money!

Power cuts are a pain recently and the only alternative to an electric kettle I had was a saucepan... which is dangerous and not advisable. The answer? An old fashioned hob kettle. It has a good whistle, loud enough to hear from another room but not loud enough to deafen the neighbours, and although the handle swivels down for easier storage it is very secure in its upright position, no swinging kettles here thankfully. It looks small, but holds three large mugs worth of tea and some left over for washing up too.I would also suggest it as a backup for when your electric kettle inevitably goes to the great warehouse in the sky and stops working. We have had three electric kettle in 8 years so this might be more useful than you think

Bought to go on top of my wood burner, this is the perfect size. I note that some reviews complain about the capacity - it contains enough to make me a pot of tea so it is sufficient for my needs. The whistle dropped out on the 2nd use, but I just pushed it back in and it whistles quite happily - although it has to boil for a while before the whistle starts.I purchased a £60 Le Creuset kettle for my kitchen at the same time and that had to go back due to 2 large chips in the enamel. This little baby cost me £6.93 and seems to be of a much better standard. And the handle even folds down, so I can use it in my campervan as well. Perfect.

Love this kettle! Delivered promptly and well packaged. The colour is a beautiful apple green. The whistle is attached and has a lever to lift it up to pour. The handle folds down to the side, making it much easier when filling the kettle. Having used this kettle right out of the box, the parts that need handling when hot don't get too hot to handle and you can pour boiling water into a cup without burning your hands! I am disabled and find this kettle easier to lift and use than I do an electric kettle, not to mention that gas is cheaper for me to use than electric so it is cost effective too!

This is a brilliant kettle besides looking lovely, it is easy to use - handle , spout, and lid are designed really well and are comfortable and light to use. Easy to fill, pours well, heats up really fast so should save energy. I use mine on an induction hob but note to other induction users it only works on the smallest ring - when you do the magnet test for it only the rim on the base is magnetic, but its works. Thoroughly recommend this looked at other induction hob kettles and they were all far more expensive and no where near as nice to handle.

This funky blue colour kettle arrived this morning. Well packed and in goo delivery time of three days or so. Weekend as well. The spout is easy to open and the lid is easy to remove. Nice quality product in all. Large enough for quite a bit of water. What else can i say ? A kettle is a kettle. However, You could half fill. Allow the water to cool for two minuites then chuck in your tea bags. An instant tea pot as well for large quantity of tea.!!! Brill. Good service from the supplier. Would use again.Well pleased. By the way .Do you do tea pots ?

Does exactly what it's meant to and looks really cool :)My last whistling kettle spilt everywhere whenever you poured it, this one is much better, didn't spill a drop.I read one of the reviews that said it discoloured after a lot of use. I have used this many times for 4 days straight and not had any problems with discolouration so far. I have only used it on a single ring camping gas stove so not sure if this made a difference.Oh and the handle folds down so you can squeeze it easily into the boot, if like me you take half the house camping :)

I have used hob kettles for many years. My last one lasted for eight years or more, when I came to replace it I was horrified by the prices some were asking for - it was going to be cheaper to buy an electric kettle than replace my hob one, which lets be honest is only a glorified pan!Eventually I found this, for a reasonable price. It arrived and went straight into business, I am very pleased with it, it sings like a canary every time there is a brew on the way!

This kettle was being advertised by a number of retailers, chose this one because they were one of the cheapest. However ordered quite late in the day, on a Sunday and was leaving on a camping trip on the Wednesday so was a little worried as I only chose standard service. Pleased and surprised to say it turned up on the Tuesday which I thought was brlliant! The kettle was fab, a very cool retro look and great to use. Would highly recommend both retailer & product!

A brilliant little kettle which is just fine for camping and boating. Light weight with a folding handle taking little space when required. I can assure you that this item noes not work on an induction hob, I tried it even though it states on the box that it does work on Induction hobs. The bottom is not flush therefore stands above the hobs surface by a few millimetres. Apart from that and no whistle it is good value for the money
