I found this an effective Baster - the pipette is made from Glass and has a scale on the glass tube, with quite a narrow end. The rubber bulb is pretty large.I used this at Christmas and certainly had no problems basting my turkey and re-using the oil for my roasted veg and potatoes. It could suck up the bulb almost full and didn't appear to get too hot to handle, although i didn't let the juices sit in the tube very long. It is glass so I would suspect it could get hot.I put mine in the dishwasher afterwards and it came out clean and intact - so no problems there ..One thing to note; The bulb which pushes on to the tube/pipette should sit right near the top,you can when assembling push it downwards so the top of the bulb touches the tube, if you do this the bulb is ineffective. It should just sit on the top 1cm of the tube. For me worked really well, arrived next day, bargin.

Really good products really happy with it and I think as long as I don't crack the glass it'll last year's however I did read 1 review where the lady was saying that the fat can drip out the end I think it's something to do with the difference between heat at the tip she explained it better that I can confirm that it does drip a bit but to be honest if you're based in you're probably going to be over a based in tray and over the meat anyway just bear that in mind that you won't be able to take me from one corner to another without dropping hot oil not much tho there will be some

Didn't work! And to make matters worse it broke after I put it in!!The family was so excited when I bought this, my Ma had been saying for years now that if I didn't get a move on soon I'd never get pregnant! So here we were, got cousin Jim-bob to put some of his special baby-batter in it and then shot that sh*t right up there! But I guess it created a suction, cuz the next I knew I couldn't get the darn thing out so I panicked and yanked on it which broke it (seeing as it's glass and all) and on top of that I ain't even pregnant yet.

I had never used a baster before, so I can't compare this with others basters, but I found it very convenient and easy to use. It is a relatively large baster made of durable glass and it even has a scale printed on the glass, which is great. The large rubber bulb is easy to hold and it doesn't get very hot when in use. The baster surprisingly is very easy to clean, and as part of the glass tube can fit inside the rubber bulb when not in use, it is very easy to store as well.

I bought this as a stocking filler for my fiance who loves to cook a roast. The baster is quite neat and small but does the job superbly. It's not the easiest item to clean. I first put it in the dishwasher and the water didn't get up inside the cylinder. This is best washed by hand squeezing the suction ball to get hot soapy up inside the cylinder and then rinsed fully.

This baster is a quality item, with glass tube and rubber bulb. It reminds me of one my mum had years ago, and is a great help when basting chickens, etc. However, it is rather fragile and didn't appreciate falling onto the stone floor in our kitchen.Cleaning is best using the appropriate brush for tube-like things, but this baster doesn't come with such a brush,

I bought this product not for basting poultry, but for carrying out a procedure on the engine of my car (don't ask!) The baster is particularly useful for such purposes due to having markings for millilitres up the side (35ml) and having a long pipette (17cm).It's well manufactured and arrived within a few days of ordering.

Great tool for basting meats while cooking and unlike other basters I've had the bulb is the correct size for the glass part, meaning that you do not inadvertently suck hot juices up into the rubber bulb (Yuk!) Its glass so doesn't discolour or fracture as easily as the plastic ones.

I'm on my third one now in 4 years ( People keep dropping them :( ) but more than happy and as it's glass fair enough it will smash on a tiled floor.Does the job handsomely at a great price, plus even with the above i'd go for glass over plastic as you know it will sterilise. :)

We bought this to use on Christmas Day to use on the Turkey, it certainly done what it is intended to do. The suction on it is really good and the neck of it is glass so it was easy to pop in the dishwasher to clean. We would definitely buy this again. - Mrs West

The annoying yappy dog next door will soon give birth to a devil hound which I will nickname Damien in the hope it will bite the nads of his/or her owner once it reaches dog teenage years ( so thats next summer ) . PS its easy to clean and reusable.

This is well made and draws liquid up no problem. However, mine only draws up about 22ml maximum yet the increments go much higher than that (30ml).Maybe the 'bulb' should be bigger to allow liquid to be drawn all the way up the glass tube?

My wife bought this for me as a Christmas present. I enjoy using it all the time we have roast.Been wanting this for a while and now that I have it, it's great. Gone are the days of scooping the meat juices with a spoon and getting burned.

I got this to remove the old brake fluid and clutch fluid before replacing it on my motorcycle. Being glass its easy to keep clean and had enough suction to empty the reservoirs easily with minimal dripping. Worked perfectly :-)
