I love the coat! And my boy Cane Corso loves it too! Who said tough dogs don't like comfort?!He knows it keeps him warm when we go on long walks and he loves being warm. Even though he loves the snow and running and playing and rolling in the snow, but when it comes to long walks on windy freezing -20 days - he gets cold and doesn't enjoy them unless he feels cozy in his coat. It's not good if u want to let your dog run around freely and your dog decided to do the business - the part at rear end gets closed up from the wind blowing to the bum - my boy hates that, so i like to keep it closed for most part - that way his rear end doesn't get frozen.U can also open the back end and lock on the sides - it has a clip on each side, but you have to be able to open the back when needed - that's why this coat is not good for free unsupervised running but perfect for for training and walks, The coat has straps to loop thru each back leg and keeps material close to body instead of lifting up every time wind blows. If you do long training session outside - this coat is perfect - becz when u train the dog should be finished wit his business and when its time to work or train - in this coat dogs can be comfortable and concentrated on training task instead of freezing their ass. :) Also, this coat has opening on top for harness loop if your training involves harness. As long as you make measurements right - this coat is such a good investment! Just make sure u get correct neck size - measure lower neck better to make sure it fits around the head to put coat on and to take it off easier if its couple inches wider - the neck has a string to tighten it if needed. Also, when u measure back length - go for inch longer or two, that way it will cover rear end nicer,I also like the quality of material - sturdy but soft to touch - i like the feel of it in my hands when i fold to put away - it folds easy and doesn't take much room (for such a big heavy looking coat) its good if you want to carry with you and put it on on the dog later, after he runs for awhile and then its time to train or walk. Only good things to say! From me and my boy Max. We got size 32" - its an inch longer - but like i said i like that - it gives better coverage, And even thou he is 2 and a half years old but he still had his growth spurts until now, so his back measured 30-31, he has very wide big head so that couple extra inches in the neck helps a lot for putting coat on easy. I got it when it was on sale price under 100$ and right now we got very cold windy days in GTA Ontario, but it doesn't stop us from having fun in the winter - all thanks to this amazing winter Ultimate Warmer! My boy looks tough on the outside but he is soft on the inside and when he walks in his Ultimate Warmer - everybody loves it and he doesn't look scary at all - big plus for people so they don't shy away from him becz of his intimidating look, makes tough dog look softer but still respectful! :)

I have had my french bulldog for approximately 10 years (32lbs, size 16 coat). In that time I have experimented with different coats/boots that would work sometimes and not others, or fall apart after a month/season. This coat is worth every dollar. I was tired of spending my money on something that had some sort of flaw and I wish I found this coat sooner. The people who had problems indicated in their reviews I believe did not size it properly, so take the time to do so and measure your dog before ordering. Here is my breakdown and review:Pros:Sizing - The sizing guide that is posted in the pictures is very accurate. Pay attention because you may need to sacrifice an inch or gain an inch in length to accommodate your dogs neck/chest size.In the case of a chesty/necky frenchie I had to gain an inch which was perfectly manageable. The coat fits him perfectly.Design: This coat is indeed water/wind proof. The flaps on the front, sides and back ensure it cuts the wind to give my frenchie added warmth. I love how the back flaps can either snap together to go around a dogs tail or fold in and snap back to the coat for dogs without tails. He has not had any difficulties doing his business and romping around. Because the fit is perfect, it barely shifts/slides. The best part of this coat is the flaps for his harness with an extra flap for a collar.Durability: Excellent. All materials are great quality; the stitching, material and especially the chest clip/buckle.Price: You get what you pay for. I have seen other styles of this coat above $100 which is indeed too much. The $80-$90 range for this coat is fair as I have easily spent well over that replacing coats every season. I bought this one over Hurtta's winter coat due to it offering all the extra features indicated above.

This is a fantastic coat. I took out my dog immedialy in it and it fit great. She ran around in tall wet grass and swampy ground and it kept her warm and mostly dry. The coat was filthy and I was worried Id ruined it already but used gel color safe bleach rubbed in overnight and it looks brand new after washing it in warm water and running thru the normal drier setting. The snap to close the back under the tail is too high for my dogs big tail and fanny so I have to alter that somehow. The 2 leg straps are funny, they tend to ride up close to her "girl bits" but she doesnt seem to mind it so far. It has nice coverage around her legs and its great when she pushes under brush, doesnt restrict her even tho its very cozy around her. Im glad I chose it and paid for a little more than the simpler style offered. I expect with proper care it will last her a long while. *** I ended up returning this coat cuz it got so incredibly dirty underneath from the "floating" style of belly cover and it was just too short on her after all. The next size up was too big to deal with.

The coat is very warm - my dog's body is warm to the touch after half an hour outside in a blizzard at -20 C. It also fits very well if you carefully measure your dog's back and chest (ordering the right size is critical!), and it seems not to restrict movement at all. It works great with a harness under it, though the harness has to be hooked up with the leash on the dog's shoulders (where there is an opening in the coat), not the chest. It will seems daunting the first time that you put on the coat, because there are five separate steps: slip the coat's collar over the dog's head; put the dog's left front paw through an opening; clip the buckle on the side of the dog's chest (after you find the clip neatly hidden to keep it from freezing); place an elastic strap around each hind leg.In fact, by the second or third time it becomes second nature, and my dog doesn't mind at all. In fact, he seems to enjoy wearing the coat. We've only had it for a few weeks, but it seems very durable. And it really is waterproof.

I was worried that this might not be the right coat for my short haired dogs. But I found that it was very easy to get on and off, covers major muscle groups, and chest. I really like the ways that I can adjust the fit for my dogs. There is enough room to layer for those very, very cold days. This coat and the Hurtta microfleece jumpsuit worked excellently together for those days we hit -30c.This does a pretty good job keeping my podenco warm, and I love the harness port. The only problem I have is that my pod is very active and jumps, digs, dives, runs and she somehow manages to get a leg trapped in the bib even though I've tightened the belly and shoulder straps. My pod has figured out that when this jacket comes out of the closet,we're going outside and she noses her way into the coat quickly.

I really like the ways that I can adjust the fit for my dogs. There is enough room to layer for those very, very cold days. This coat and the Hurtta microfleece jumpsuit worked excellently together for those days we hit -30c.My greyhound fell in between the available sizes and I chose the smaller size, which was only 2 inches shorter than his back length and it worked out fine. Had I beefier, furry pup, I'd have gone a size up. The belly strap is a little loose and has to be refitted every time I put him in the jacket (whichis 3x a day).

This is a very well made "warmer" for dogs. HOWEVER, if you're going to use it in extreme cold weather on a non-shedding/hypoallergenic dog, I suggest putting on a thin/warm jacket underneath since these dogs only have one layer of hair and no oily undercoat to keep them warm in frigid weather. Jacket has adjustable tabs to fit your dog comfortably, and it's great to have a neck warmer and longer hock and chest covers to protect your pooch's muscles a bit from the elements. Would be great if it came in a thicker/fleece-lined jacket for our "non-shedders," but it's a great coverup nonetheless.

Amazing product. Bought it for my shaved Cocker Spaniel who I take backpacking, and used as a sleep system for him. He was toasty up to 30 or 40*F sleeping with nothing else. Any colder and his body would be warm but he'd shiver with his head and legs exposed. HOWEVER, if you use this as a jacket, your pup will be TOASTY at way lower temperatures. Super compact, way warmer than it looks out of the package. Would definitely recommend.I'll likely look at the Hurtta body sleeve type products to turn this into an effective "versatile sleeping bag" for the dog. Best jacket I've tried so far.

I've owned other Hurtta jackets and all of them are high quality, but this one is by far my favorite winter jacket. Fits my dog perfectly, there measurement guide is spot on and the quality is top notch. Easy to take on and off and it covers my dogs chest which is important. I take him with me when I go horseback riding and the jacket stands up to the rigors of a dog running down trails or running through woods (prickers, limbs, etc).Cleaning is also really easy, I just toss it in the washer and line dry.If you are thinking of buying one, do it.

LOVE IT. Miniature Dachshunds are so hard to fit because of their long backs. I ordered a size 12 for my dog (Around neck: 10.24inch, Around girth: 14.96inch, Length of back: 12.20inch) and it fits great. Adjusts around the belly and chest so it snugs right up to her body and out of the way of her legs/feet. Super warm, high quality material for those chilly Canadian winters! The Hurtta website has great sizing charts and blogs to help find the best fit for your dog.

The most complete dog coat ever. Hurtta has taken into account many of the cold weather hurdles dog owners encounter and provided excellent solutions. There's even a snap closure on the "business" end of the coat so that fido can be snugged up after completing said business. Pull ties, cinches, padding all cleverly arranged make for a complete winter package for your best friend. Takes five minutes or so to get familiar with the ins and outs, but well worth the effort

I bought this coat for my five month old miniature pinscher for waking him in the winter. The coat fits him well, it is a little big but that was to be expected as I know he will grow into it. The coat is easy to get on and off and keeps him very warm during the Wisconsin winters. We have gotten a lot of compliments on it as well. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a warm, durable, and sensible jacket for their pets.

This is the best design I have found for a dog coat. There are covered openings for both collar and harness fastenings. The rear area can be snapped out of the way until the dog has defecated. I cut out the label as it made a rustling sound that spooked my dog when putting it on. I also had to add length to the belly strap as my dog is bigger in that area. But the design and construction is superb and worth the money.

Fits my dog perfectly! Last year I purchased a Hurtta raincoat for my pup to grow into and have been VERY pleased with that product. Now that Coco is fully grown, I wanted to invest in a Hurtta warm winter coat for her. We obviously haven't had a chance yet to properly use the Ultimate Warmer yet but have it on hand for that first blustery winter day of the upcoming season.I highly recommend this product line!

Our doberman loves to go outside with this coat on. He helps us put it on too. We also have 2 German Shepherds, and when they're all together it gets rough, we also have barbed wire fences. This coat is warm, tough and comfortable. Please make it in another color, like hi-viz orange or a darker purple or a green. Thanks for doing an excellent job designing a dog coat.
