We bought one of these coats a few years ago and it has dealt with moderate amounts of rain and washed well but is now past its best, so time for a replacement. One of the great design features is the V shaped elastic fabric piece on the chest which allows for a snug but flexible fit.The design means you have fabric that comes down over the front chest and then underneath the ribs and round the chest, so good coverage. The coat is Khaki, not the beige/brown it appears to be in the photos.Our retriever is larger than average length and slightly bigger in the chest as he has aged so this time we went up 2 sizes to 30 inch (76 cm), so that the coat covered the whole length of his back and allowed for a slightly wider girth.His back length is 65 cms but when his head goes forward the coat moves with it, so the extra 10cms in the replacement coat is ideal for him. However, when he sits the rear end of the coat does sit on the floor. Not too much of an issue though, as he would rarely be asked to sit when out in the rain.I would urge people to try this coat but mention my slight niggle in case it is something the makers can address. So, the issue I have with this iteration of this wonderful coat is that the fabric that lines the waterproof part of the coat has been changed, it appears to be slightly thinner and slightly slippery/has less cotton in it. I think this contributes to there being slightly less 'grip', so it doesn't stay on the dogs back without the leg straps being used and even then slides off to the side a little. We did not have to use the leg straps on the old coat, it stayed in place on its own. The movement is probably partially due to the increased length in this coat and the fact that the chest 'straps' are substantially longer than the last coat so a tight fit cannot be achieved. I will have to add some extra velcro to the chest straps so the fit can be tightened and possibly, add a different lining to the coat so that it doesn't slip as easily. I could have returned the coat and tried the next size down but I really wanted the extra length for our old fella who is now 11. Lovely thick optional liner.

After some debate I ordered the 12" as Oreo is a tiny dog but her body length is actually 14" but I was more concerned about snugness on her front body than length. So when I received the dog coat, in time, I tried it on Oreo straight away, both layers together, with tags still on in case it didn't fit.Around the chest and front legs it was absolutely fine. It is a bit short along the length of her body and doesn't cover her bum completely BUT I wanted it to keep her under-chest area dry and warm and it Does Just That, The 12" was the better choice. Plus the reflective bit works really well and now in the Orange colour we can see her running about in the woods..she is very good at camouflage with her silver/black sheen of a coat, esp in the evening..I've been standing for 3/4 min calling on her and shes standing next to a tree staring at me like " Im right here Mum!"Then, I tried it without the fleece, one wet but warm day and happily noticed that without the fleece the inner jacket fitted her perfectly and was covered along the whole length of her back. BINGO.I really wanted to give 5 so I did.It is worth mentioning that while Oreo was wearing both layers (hence it being shorter along her back) whilst running full pelt and generally having fun her hind leg got caught in the elastic strap on inside of outer layer (meant to hold fleece layer flush with water proof layer I think and NOT a rear leg loop) causing her jacket to twist and her to stumble and tumble and hop around like a new born lamb. It was fun until we realised something was wrong and she was stuck. She wasn't hurt AT ALL but we were on the bank of a very fast river and it could have been a lot worse.So I have simply cut the elastic straps off and intend to sew on a pop button myself. JOB DONE.

i am very pleased with this coat. i did order 3 as i have 3 miniture jack russels. it says to measure from the collar to the base of the tale which with my 2 dogs is 18 inchs and the smaller is 16 inchs. so i ordered 2 at 16 inch and 1 at 14 inches as theses were the nearest sizes. iv had to send the 2 16inch ones back as they are way to big lol. just be warned they are very ample sizes before you order them. thats no critisism in any way atall. they are brilliant coats im just waiting for the money back in my account and im ordering 2 more 14inch coats. my one jack russel is very fine short haired and he gets cold even when in the house with the fire on lol.hes used the first coat and we really test drove it i can tell you lol. it was hammering with rain we walked for an hour and a half the only thing that got wet was the top of his head and half of his tail oh and his ikkle feet of course. the only down side if you can call it that was it was so wet (and i didnt wash it first) when i took it off him i got VERY black hands lol and it took several goes with washing powder to get the stains off my hands. however i must say we did test it to the extreme!! one complaint to amazon is when you order its says i got super saver free delivery. this however when you arrive at check out cleverly has the box ticked as delivery by 15th of march costing and extra £4.25 i think it was. if you dont want to pay make sure you untick this box. i think i orderd it on the saturday 8th march i could of pay delivery for 15th march however it came on its own by mail on tuesday 12th march anyway so just some advice for you to think about. the coat is super and cant wait for all my boys to have one!!

Received this coat today after ordering it yesterday. And what perfect May British weather we have to try it out.... pouring down rain!!! I got one that was 50cm as my 7mo WCS pup still has a little bit of growing to do and I wanted to make sure it was long enough for her to grow into. So it does look a bit too big but I’m fine with that.She’s a very dainty WCS so the waist band has a bit of extra flap to it but not to worry, having read some of the other reviews I will get some extra Velcro to sew on the remaining bit. The straps for the back of the legs are great, although my pup was a bit unsure of these at first,but they certainly help keep it in place whilst she’s rolling around!I kept the fleece lining on it today as it was bitterly cold wind as well during my walk.She’s been running around the field no problem with it on - no restrictions . I put the harness over the top of the coat which also helped keep the coat in place, although i am sure it’s fine anyway! I love how the cost goes under the chest and tummy to keep her dry.The waterproof part is really good think quality, not the thin material you get on other coats that absorb the water in seconds. You can actually see the water repealing on the coat in the pics.Definitely fab buy and would recommend.As you can see my pup is not one for photos!!!

I bought this after trying several different coats on my lab x collie pup who is only 13 weeks old but shooting up like a weed lol!! most of the other brands were too wide on the chest, then I remembered that about 16 years ago I bought a Danish Design wax coat for my JR so I thought I'd give this brand another go and was really pleased to see that they have this coat with the tummy protector. I ordered the Orange (more of a reddish orange) with my Prime delivery and it arrived the next day, it fitted her perfectly on the chest and in the length on the back too. She wasn't too impressed with the leg straps but it is still great without using them.I went online that same night and ordered the next size up for her so that when this one gets too small I'll have one ready to use. Buying from Amazon is also the cheapest place I could find and as she is still growing I am going to need a few of these before we get to adulthood, I also like the option that Amazon give you of the warehouse returns at a reduced price too.

I am really pleased with the purchase which arrived in a day or two.It really helps to keep the belly of my Dachshund warm and dry being so close to the ground. Also she looks as snug as a bug in it and quivers a lot less than she use too. Some coats have caused her to trip while walking but this is a superb fit.I did purchase another one for my other Dachshund from another source as the size i wanted was not available from this seller. Having received it I can say it is a little wide on the neck and he trips out of it.Although he is younger, he is a lot longer in the body and slimmer too so I will be getting the next size down from this seller.I do not feel this is a fault at all.Like us we can put on the size we measure to but because there are so many variables such as height, age weight etc its a case of trial and error. Go for the measurements first and work from there I say. It is apparent what is not quite right and you could buy two sizes the same but different designs can differ greatly.

We bought this for our highly active jack russel cross, she recently had fleas so she's stripped all of her fur as a result she get's really cold when we go out for a walk. We bought it in a 35cm (14") which is bright red with a little collar to keep the wind and rain off.It's a simple and clever design which is an easy and great fit, it's got a reflective strip which will be seen by anyone especially drivers. It's really easy to walk in as it's got a little hole where the lead can be put through. I can't fault it in anyway, really easy to wash and to take the winter coat off thanks to the velcro. The only thing that I can think of is that there are straps at the back for the legs,I know we won't use it because I feel it restricts her in running around. A part from that there's nothing wrong with it - great colour, great fit, really comfortable and warm in the winter months.We love it and will be using it an awful lot throughout the year, we might even get another one.

These coats are a really great design and the fleece is nice and thick and cosy. The excellent quality material of the outer layer is very effective at keeping your dog dry when it's raining and the reflective band works a treat at night. It has elasticated leg straps, a hole for a harness and a name tag which I found useful as I have 3 dogs, they all wear the same size of coat and so I can tell whose coat is whose. However, these coats are really only suitable for walking dogs, not running dogs, so if you let your dog off the lead at, say, the park or the beach you might run into trouble with the area around the top of their front legs. I find that it cuts into their skin if they take long strides at speed.I had to get the scissors, needle and thread out and cut sections out to make more space around that area = problem solved, but you shouldn't have to resort to that. I'm still giving it a 5 out of 5 stars rating though as for a walking dog coat it's faultless.

I bought this coat for my mini schnauzer. He wears an Easy Walk harness, which attaches to a lead from the front, and I didn't know how this would work with the coat over the top. I needn't have worried - the front of the coat sits fairly low down and also has a V shaped stretchy piece in the middle so the lead can attach to his harness with no problems.My dog is a 3 yr old rescue, and I had no idea if he'd ever worn a coat before. The first time I put it on (without the fleece liner to start with) he was very unsure, and kept shaking himself and walking like a duck! However, within 5 minutes he was running round the field like a loony, leaping in the air to catch his ball,and seemed oblivious that he even had the coat on.It's very well designed, easy to put on, stays put (I've never had to use the back leg loops) and looks really smart. Very impressed with my choice and now the only thing that needs wiping after a romp in a wet, muddy field is his legs!

Purchased this dog coat for my 6 month old Labrador. I originally went for the 26 inch version, but it swamped her. The 22inch is a perfect fit with still some room for her to expand around the girth. Overall, the coat is very well made, soft, smart and extremely easy to put on. The fact that you need to slip it over the dogs head has not caused me any issues whatsoever which is a big relief considering that my dog is a little nervous - she loves it!I would say that the outer material is reasonably waterproof and will survive an April shower rather than torrential rain. The fleece inside the jacket is very soft and after walking down a freezing, windy beach in sleet and snow for 45 mins,she was as warm as toast when we eventually got back to the car, plus dry. I would have no hesitation in recommending this dog coat to other dog owners and have since made the decision to purchase the Waxed version for really miserable, wet days.

I purchased this coat for our Springer X lab. He has very fine hair which can be difficult to dry. I wanted a waterproof coat that had a removable fleece lining so it could be used in summer without him overheating and keep him warm in winter.The coat is of good quality and nicely made. It covers him well and the adjustable Velcro straps ensure a good fit as well as protecting his undercarriage from the wet and mud as well.Customer service was absolutely fantastic! The coat arrived the very next day (standard free delivery from Amazon). Unfortunately when I put it on him, I realised the size was too big (although this was my own fault) I arranged for a refund which was very straight forward and they picked up my return the very next working day.My money was refunded the next day! Excellent service! I purchased another coat in the correct size and I couldn’t be more pleased with it :)

We chose the plain black coat becuse my husband wasn't comfortable taking our dog for a walk in anything "too conspicuous" lol ! Also, we like the option of being able to remove the fleece lining in the warmer weather. It arrived very quickly, well packaged and first impressions are that it's well made and very easy to use. We have a springer spaniel who loves his walks and chasing the ball ...... which is great apart from when it's wet and muddy and he gets covered in the stuff :) The coat helps to keep him dry and clean (especially his underbelly) and he doesn't seem to mind wearing it - think his attention span is all about chasing the ball and nothing else! It's machine washable and dries quickly:)Would recommend to anyone thinking about buying their dog a coat. Hmmmm, I might just order another one as a spare - do they do one in animal print? :)

I bought this item because it seemed way cheaper than all the others, but also provided the extra winter padding.I was not disappointed! Excellent quality. The red colour is quite bright so it protects my Chihuahua when taking evening walks in the winter, when it gets dark very quickly.HOWEVER, the bit of the coat that goes from the front down between the front legs and up on the sides to then close at the top is a bit too wide for my tiny Chihuahua. SO, he has some problems walking normally as the front legs are slightly apart and he has to balance on each side (looks like he's a bit drunk).After a while he got used to it, but I'm thinking of buying a different coat because I'm concerned about my dog's wellbeing after wearing this every day.I wouldn't want to damage his front shoulders by making him walk with his front legs wider than usual.

I was really impressed with the quality of this produce - you never know what you are getting when you order on the internet! It came nicely presented in a bag, and looks much nicer in real life than in the photos. The outer material is quality waterproof, breathable and windproof with a nice texture. The removable fleece is very warm and padded and will be great for cold winter days. I was after a summer waterproof coat and it was difficult to find one without a fleece lining, so this is perfect. It simply velcros in and out. The outside layer goes easily over the dog's head and fastens with a large, velcro strap on the dog's back, so really easy to take on and off.There are also two small elastic straps at the back to go over the dog's hind legs to hold the coat in place, but it works fine without if your dog is not keen!

My dog has two of these, they are the only type of coat that I can get to fit him properly. He is a bulldog cross so has quite a big chest. Because these coats have the large velcro piece coming round the dogs tummy they are easy to get to size for each individual dog. I have taken the fleece liner out, I intended to put it back in the winter but he actually didn't need it once running around.He really only has a coat to keep him dry, so that he can come in to the house without smelling like a wet dog. These coats have been in the washing machine numerous times and I find in the winter one is being washed nearly all the time. I do spray them at the start of winter with a waterproofing spray just to help keep the rain out.I think this is inevitable if you put them in the washing machine as any rain proofing will wash out.
