I have been having great difficulty finding a warm coat to fit my little chihuaua cross dog, as, at 13 inches, she is a little longer than the average chihuahua. She is also 'whippet-shaped', in that she's very slim with a slightly barrel chest.After much deliberation, I found this little coat. I thought it might be a little short, but the body size appeared to be fine, so I ordered it.The coat arrived quickly and excellently wrapped. It is beautifully-made and would be (I would say) medium-warm - quite warm enough for anything but a really hard winter. I doesn't have a hole for a harness, but I usually make a hole for this in most dog coats I buy anyway.The only thing was.....although it fits my skinny chi perfectly in the body,

This is the third fantastic Ancol jacket our little mini schnauzer has had. The first was the red Muddy Paws Stormguard when she was a puppy. She then got a bigger one of those, and after three years of constant washing, it’s still like new. (That’s the red, padded jacket.). This new black quilted one is the same superior quality. We love this brand. The medium fits our petite mini perfectly. The little leg straps hold the jackets in place, making sure her little bummage is protected from the rain and wind! Her body is always bone dry after rainy walks when she wears these coats. I truly struggle to understand how people can find fault with the Ancol range of dog coats and jackets.

I bought this coat as a rain jacket for my 20kg strong muscley cocker spaniel for rainy days walks, I really wanted a rain mac of which I sourced many on amazon but none were available for delivery to ireland. I settled for this lightly padded coat, which does the job fine. I had to sew up the 2/3" gap provided for a harness lead which was easy. I choose the large size which really is marginally small for him and rides up his back unless the elastic leg holders are used, but whilst he loves the coat he doesn't like the elastic holders. If I had my choice over I'd go for the extra large. But my dog is a cocker and whilst his on the bigger side for the breed he is not enormous.

Have two old Muddy Paws coats from previous dog so thought I'd get a new one for our GSD. She's not very big but to get the length I ordered the xxlarge. Always have to shorten the girth strap by 7", must be ideal for fat dogs but not for mine. Love the leg straps which stop the coat blowing back in strong winds. Works well to keep rain off, and keeps her warm in winter. Could do with additional reflective stripes along the sides as it would be safer for the dog on dark nights. UPDATE Have only had the coat a month and the press studs have broken apart, so does not stay on in the wind- and its been very windy.

As winter draws near again I can say that this pooch coat has served us well. Firstly no worries about canine envy you and your pooch will love the style, fit and warmth this provides. I have found that my terrier inevitably walks with more swagger and feels just like a Costwald / Kensington Pooch would without the need to actually move there are realise you cannot afford to.It has been relatively robust and held together well. My dog goes everywhere and no stitches, belts or velcro have given up yet. Its also worth stating that a quick hose down and dry and its ready to go very quickly.

I brought this in Medium for my jack russell and chihuahua mix he's about the size of a small Jack Russell. When it arrived I was worried he'd be cold in it as its thinner than other jackets I've got him. However I was surprised when we got caught in heavy rain for 20 mins the jacket was wet on the outside but very warm and dry on the inside. Another plus my dog is quite long maybe 1 or 2 inches longer than other jackets so I thought it wouldn't fit properly, it did right to his tail. Perfect such a good price. I would recommend to anyone looking for a light easy to put on jacket :)

I buy Ancol coats and harnesses almost exclusively for the senior male Papillon I rescued a rear ago. He's gets impatient when he's being dressed for cold and/or rainy weather. Though not waterproof this jacket will resist lifht rain and not soak through to the lining. Quality is excellent and the pricing is very reasonable. I presently have 5 Ancol jackets and 4 Ancol harnesses in various colors and thicknesses. The weather in the west of Ireland can be wet for days so one can't have too many jackets and harnesses that are not only good quality but comfy for my good boy.

The large size is perfect for the average cocker spaniel. This was bought for my skinny, elderly cocker who gets cold really easily. There’s quite a bit of room in there and it would be a perfect fit on his much tubbier brother but it can be easily fastened to fit the skinny fella well enough.It’s fairly thin, just the rain layer and then a fleece inner. It’s good for our mild winter which has barely dropped below freezing but for colder weather I’d have to find him something more substantial. Great for keeping him warm during a rainy romp around the park.

Smashing little dog coat, my Schnauzer loves to roll in the grass, coat or no coat, but this coat comes up lovely and clean with just a wipe of a damp cloth. I have washed this in the washing machine as well and it comes out like new. The tummy strap is a little long for a perfect fit on her, but hey, all dogs are different in tummy size (as are we owners).This coat stays in the right place across the back even after a roll in the grass, I would definitely purchase this again, it is a trouble free dog coat which also looks very smart.

Nice and cosy, has a 2 velcro fixings 1 at the chest and 1 underneath which goes around the stomach as well as 2 elastic fixings 1 each for the back legs in which the strap goes under the leg and has a dome popper which is reattached round at the back of the dog. The first time I walked her the elactic straps did bother her but she has had numerous walks since and she has obviously got used to it as they dont bother her anymore. I have a female Lhasa and I ordered a Medium which is a perfect fit. Great product at a great price

We originally purchased 3 medium sized coats for our dogs but as they are the same breed Shih Tzu we forgot one of them is smaller than the other two so we got a small for him instead - these are good coats and delighted with the quality - they look smart, are waterproof and also a slight padding in case its a bit cold - we use these at home and when travelling at campsites so they are much drier and cleaner after their walk - would buy again

Fits my Parsons Russell perfectly. I had to make 'a buttonhole' for the lead attachment on my dogs harness, but I was expecting to have to do this as other reviewers had mentioned this problem. However, it may prove difficult to have one already in the garment as harnesses do differ in position of placement of lead ring.Material is brilliant and garment is very well made. I also bought my little dog the red tartan jacket. Also brilliant.

Good for later summer going into winter months the coat isn’t padded so not that warm for frosty snowy days , ok for light rain , measured my jack Russel and went off my measurements not the suggested measurements on the product and glad I did the coat fits just right , it has a little zip to open if your dog wears a harness also has elastic loops to pull over the back legs to stop the coat blowing up in the wind

Nice coat. The large size fits my show cocker (who is on the larger size physically).As others have said, the studs are for show and fastening is by velcro but that is to be expected to allow for adjustability.Not tremendously thick but enough to keep warm and clean(er) than without it.I did add a press stud to the end of the belly strap to stop the end from flapping around.generally very pleased with it

Lovely, cosy jacket.Perfect in size for my wee jack russell, but had to remove velcro and replace both pieces in a place that made it narrower. Be better if velcro was longer along straps in the first place and that would have saved me sewing. Read other reviews about having to resew velcro so was expecting to. To sum up, sewing is a small price to pay, as jacket was cheaper than highstreet shops. Woohoo.
