Over the years, I have always had dogs who (if they could speak) I'm sure would not thank you for putting a coat on them. However in some cases you want to prevent the dog from getting wet or dirty to avoid discomfort if you are not going directly home.I have tried a number of coats. Tartan fur lined, wax jackets, and more. The problems were always the same. It slipped round in sat unevenly, it shrunk, the bindings didn't last, they frayed after a few outings. Many went back for refund. You can imagine therefore my reluctance to order such a thing off the internet. However a number of things caught my eye about this product. Firstly, Danish design (as an Architect I have a lot of respect for Danish design)secondly the head goes through and the under panel then goes from the neck through the front legs and lastly this under panel gives full protection to the underside of the dog's chest/torso. All this creates stability and provides maximum protection.Furthermore the material seems robust, slightly padded, yet very light and the price is about 2/3 of what I have paid in the past for the "rubbish" sold from pet stores. It is early days though and if I get bored in a years time I may post an update.

Super happy with the coats, they are warm, good looking, easy to put on. They have nice little collar which keeps it in the right place when worn with a harness that often tends to be an issue with coats. The belly part is a great protection from the mud, which means there’s less cleaning when we come back from walks. I’m very impressed with the durability, we wash them a couple times a week as the weather been just really bad for the past few months and they are still looking like new! They also dry in no time. We don’t use the back elastic bands to attach to the leg, as the harness is making it stay in the right place anyway. The only downside might be that it seems to be designed to more mascular/round dogs.My guys are pretty skinny so the coat ordered to their length was just too big in the chest. We exchanged them to a bit shorter size (no problem there) which is a bit short and still a bit too big in the chest, but putting it up with a harness makes it fine. This is only due to the fact that our dogs are skinny type, not the coat issue.

Bought this for my old border collie as his previous coat kept slipping. This is almost a perfect fit and is very easy to put on and take off. As stated elsewhere it's like the dog is wearing a duvet. Well made and very warm. Initially my dog was much slower than usual when wearing it as it is bulkier than the last coat but he is getting used to it. Have yet to take him out in rain but in the cold it seems to do the job very well and provides protection for most of his body. Highly recommended.July 2014This coat has been in use for just over a year and it's still in reasonably good condition although there is a tendency for the velcro to get clogged up with fur. The only disappointment is that the coat is not waterproof.I would describe it as showerproof over short periods. In fair to heavy rain it gets soaked. I have treated it as the initial treatment has probably degraded but that doesn't help. I will buy proper raincoats for wet weather and use this for colder days.

Ted, my 11 year old Jack Russell hates coats, he has had three previously during his life and has always been most reluctant to model them. We chose this as a new coat as it has a nice fleecy lining and a waterproof outer, most importantly it has a 'bib front' which goes under his upper chest and protects him beautifully from upward splashing. He is a very small Russell and hates it when it's raining as he gets wet from above AND below which is pretty miserable in his opinion. This coat then has immediately become one he is happy to wear - not only for the much-appreciated defence of his chest and upper tummy - but also because of its cosiness and generous size in the form of deep sides and decent dorsal length. It's easy to tell how comfortable it is by the way he trots along in the same chipper fashion as he employs when unburdened with covering. I think this is an excellent coat, certainly the best Ted has ever had and by no means the most expensive.

This coat is brilliant i have a spaniel cross and he is very active admitedly he walked a bit like john wayne when it first went on ,he shook himself a bit and it stayed put, he soon got used to the rear leg straps. We played ball on our trip in the rain ,played tag with other dogs and rumaged in the undergrowth and it stayed sercure the whole walk. In a downpour he was dryer than me !!.This coat is very warm even without the fleece lining. i am very happy with the product the stitching was secure and the velcro straps very sturdy, and it drys very quickly once we had got home very pleased , i would buy another one .It comes in a handy zipped tough plastic bag so storing it on his dog lead peg was handy .Promt delivery .Would have given it a extra star but the colour choices are a bit limited,Lady dogs might have liked it in a pink :-) . I bourght the 18inch which was a good fit, with and without the fleece lining .Excellent value..

First coat I ordered was a bit big for my dog. Went by measurements but little chap has short legs so the wrap under that covers the chest and comes up over back kept tripping him up no matter how tight I did it. Being impressed with the quality of the first coat I did not hesitate to get the small one in the same style. My friend's lucky dog gets the benefit of the larger coat so it will not be wasted.Have to say the quality and style of this coat is just perfect. My dog is a little unsure but that is because the other one kept tripping him up. Once he realises this fits better and will stay put I am sure he will grow to love it.I know he appreciated wearing it during the cold snap (still runs off when I first get it out but does not fight me when I put it on him).Anyone wanting to buy one of these should go ahead and get one they will be glad they did.

I recently bought this dog coat for my Cockapoo as when it rains she is not keen on getting soaked as she can get quite cold. The coat arrived after a week of ordering and it was free delivery which was great. The quality of the coat is good and the design looks very stylish, although in length she needed an 18 it is very big around her middle and the velcro doesn't do up nice and snug, hence whens she walks it moves around a lot....Well that is if she would walk, the first time i put it on her she just sat and protested by not moving, so i had to take it off, but i will keep popping it on her every now and then and hope she begins to realise it will help to keep her dry.I really like the coat but if you have a lean dog i would say to try going down a size smaller...But like the colour and quality.

In my opinion, a very good quality dog coat at a decent price. My miniature dachshunds love theirs!I read the other review but personally, I never had any trouble with it at all. It's nicely made, good quality and my very fussy dachshunds love them when it rains. They can't run as quickly with them of course due to their low bodies, but in the cold weather they'd much rather be with them than without especially as it shields their (very low to the ground) chests from the wet grass. But at the end of the day, dogs are like people and they just need to try things on to see if they like them. If you know your dog likes and fits into this type of coat - great! I really recommend this one. If not,I'd say it'd be best to go to a pet shop nearby first and having a closer look at one before you buy one.

When I initially put this coat on my dog - a Jack Russell, and attempted to walk him over the fields it was quite funny to see his reaction to his new winter attire! He would not move. He stood fast until I took the coat off. The next time I put it on him it was snowy and cold and I think he twigged that the coat was a good idea! The coat is really well designed and fits like a glove due to a generous under-belly strap which fixes on the back with velcro. But it's the coverage of the chest which is great; when out and about over fields and woods he is not only warm but in my opinion most of all dry underneath. He pays no mind to his coat now and runs about as normal.I am now on the look out for the same Danish Design coat but specifically a light weight shell/rain coat with no fleece liner.

The Luxury dog coat arrived today, and I absolutely love it. It fits my dog perfectly, and is so durable and seems so nice and warm. I think I will most likely leave the straps for the back legs off of my pup while I walk him, since the coat seems to stay on just fine without them. The collar unfolds so that the dog's head is sheilded from the rain. I really like that feature. I also like the reflective piping. I was tempted to order a size up, but am glad I stuck to the measurements, since it fits my dachshund perfectly. He hates the cold and rain, and I'm hoping this coat makes it more comfortable for him. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and since these reviews have helped me so much,I thought I'd give my opinion to help others. I think it is a great buy.

Molly's rainproof coat is lovely (she's a Staffy/Whippet Cross 18" coat size) it slides on over her head easily and wraps round comfortably so no struggles with putting it on her. There are little elasticated stirrups at the back to put her legs through but not found the need to use these as it fits snugly. Of course since we bought it we've had hot, dry weather (should buy one a week lol) I think the only minus is that they are fairly padded material so unsure if on a warm rainy day it may be a little too warm for her, but then again as she's a bit of a Princess and hates rain, puddles and mud, I think she'll appreciate her cosy coat! We'll see..... Thank you for sending promptly and well packed so no damage through delivery. So far Love it!

I have had time to try it in the rain, now, and I can tell you it is pretty good! I have three of these now, two of the two in one, which are also very good, and this one and Danish Design is the best yet- I have tried all sorts of rugs over the years but they either were not a very good fit or they were not waterproof for long. These rugs are as good as my horses New Zealand rugs- they just do not let water at all. I can recommend them to anyone. I love the design, too, not only does it keep the neck warm (which is important in Dobes as they have problems in the neck) but it also wraps round easily and keeps the belly warm at the same time.Did I mention that I love them?Oh, yes,I think I did.....

Great quality and after returning for a smaller size fits my cavoodle dog (cocker spaniel/poodle cross) perfectly. I measured her from neck to tail and going on emeasurements ordered an 18" size. It was huge when I received it and so returned (with absoolute no problem) and got a 14" which fitted perfectly. I would suggest, if you can, going to a pet shop, ie. pets at home, and trying on their dog coats to get the right size - which I did. The price and quality is second to none but I wish I had bought earlier in the year to last me through the winter. The weather has turned quite mild so not sure what use I will get of it this year. I will be ready next year for any weather!!!

My Papillon cross isn't overly impressed no matter what coat I use, but this does it's job nicely. Easy to get on, as comfortable as it can be, and it keeps him warm and dry.We don't bother with the elastic loops, and they don't really work comfortably, but the coat doesn't really require them at all.Really pleased with my purchase. The only thing I would change is that I would add a Velcro flap of the waterproof layer over the neck hole for a leash, and add another hole (and another flap) in the right place to wear a harness underneath. It is possible to thread from a harness up through the neck hole, but the option for correct placement would increase comfort.

I have a slightly overweight 4 yr old Labrador who looks great in his coat... like Sherlock holmes ! The Velcro middle strap only just does up around him but like I said hes a bit on the fat side so would be fine for a leaner dog. Like some other posters he was not keen on the rear leg elastic straps which are a bit awkward to get his legs in so I cut them at one end and sewed a button onto the edge of back of coat instead with a slit in the end of the elastic bit and can do em up fine now with less stress to the dog. He loves going out in it and it keeps him dry. I was using heaps of old towels after walkies to dry him off ! It washes well in the machine too.
