Easy to use, requires filter papers, but a good number are already provided.Fast, quiet, and looks stylish. The coffee filter holding bay comes off nicely for easy rinsing under the sink in the event of coffee ground spillage, this is one of the negatives of the machine, as sometimes the filter folds on itself and coffee ground comes out, however this generally started happening when I moved on to filters that weren't its own, so next batch of filters I will buy from the manufacturer. Also, coffee still very nice despite the ground accident! The heated bay keeps it nicely warm, and I actually don't drink the coffee straight away to let it get even hotter. As for the cup size guide when you fill the water,it's a bit off, as what the British would call a mug of coffee actually represents 2 of the right sided mugs depicted on the machine, just to keep in mind for maximum capacity. My main dilemma when buying this was whether to get something reliant on filters, or something with a net. I would say definitely to go for the paper filter option (very cheap and easy to buy, albeit less eco-friendly unfortunately), as I've had net based ones before, and if you forget about the coffee ground in there before going away for a period of time it will mould, and it's much easier to throw away the filter paper and rinse the bay, than having to scrub netting.

The last two filter coffee machines [different brand, different size] only lasted me a couple of months each, as the heating element soon gave up the ghost every time - unfortunately, it's no longer possible to purchase a filter on its own which you then place over a suitable container with lid, put the filter part on top, add coffee and pour boiling water from a kettle onto it until you end up with the required amount. Of course it's nice to have hot coffee ready at all times, but it's not really necessary. However, as this isn’t an option any longer, I therefore looked for a relatively cheap and simple model this time and am keeping my fingers crossed that the heating element is up to my need for hot coffee at any given time of the day.If it does - and it should do - l would recommend this Delonghi filter coffee machine to anyone! It's good-looking, takes up little space, has no frills and makes excellent coffee - which is all I want. Five stars if the heating element meets my requirements for freshly made coffee whenever I want it!

We were in temporary accommodation before moving into a new house and needed a coffee machine. I didn't want to pay a fortune as our coffee machine was in storage (please see my review for Russell Hobbs cup to bean machine). We only drink ground coffee so over 2 months this machine was well used. It's rather lightweight and if you tip the jug slightly when removing from the hotplate it pulls open the coffee reservoir. The coffee making instructions suggests one scoop per cup, which we did, and the coffee was very week; however we then realised that we should have doubled that because the quantity of water we were using was for mugs. I like the fact that the jug has markings for cups and mugs, and that the jug is printed on both sides - I'm left handed. It makes a nice hot mug of coffee in quick time and keeps it warm on the hot plate. We have now moved; our expensive Russell Hobbs has given up the ghost after only one year, so we're back to using our little Delonghi. For the money it's a great little machine.

After reading a variety of very positive and extremely negative reviews I was not sure what to expect but for the price I thought I can't really go wrong. Arrived on day specified well packaged and protected. Very simple instructions. Plug in,fill to required water level and as much ground coffee as you want. Really that easy. There are no timers or displays. Just on and off button. The coffee is quick to heat up and a nice temperature to drink. Hot but not scalding. When the machine has used all the water available it helpfully lets out 3 beeps to inform you. For my purposes of a couple of mugs in the morning it is perfect. I did read in an earlier review about making sure the coffee drawer clicks into place properly before use. This was a good tip as it is possible for the drawer to be unlocked. Small issue though as easy to remember. Overall very pleased and converted to filter machines!

All you need is a real good coffee and this toy would ensure you have an amazing brew ready in a couple of minutes. I have had this for about a month now and my day begins with this gadget now. I am not a learned coffee connoisseur but the Dunkin Donut French Vanilla Ground Coffee and the Kahlua Original Ground Coffee that my wife got me from the US, taste brilliant when they come out of this machine. Since I am no expert with coffee I cannot draw comparison between the coffee produced by this gadget and that by V60 after you have ground your beans on your own or that made with a vacuum coffee maker. But all I can say is that I would not need to use instant coffee anymore and I prefer the coffee at home over any of those overpriced Starbucks,Mocha or Nero drinks.

Good, but not as good as the previous model.Don't do as I did, place my stainless steel teapot on a wet worktop touching the ON/OFF switch. The thing blows up and there doesn't seem to be any way of replacing the fuse. So I bought this replacement. It makes just as good coffee and in some ways it's better. The jug is a snugger fit and the water level is easier to see. The glass of the jug is extremely thin and having broken jugs before I will have to be very careful not to knock it against the tap as I'm sure it would easily break. My main gripe (so 4 stars only) is that the thing beeps to tell you the coffee is done, but it isn't.It drips for some considerable time afterwards and if you have removed the jug to pour the coffee it will drip all over the hotplate.

Sometimes it's necessary to strip away all the gadgets and expensive technology to make the perfect cup of coffee, and this low priced machine does exactly that. It makes perfect coffee every time. It's just a well designed machine that looks more expensive than it is. No drips, easy to fill, good size jug, easy to clean and good temperature. Some reviewers have criticised the fact that it only keeps the coffee warm for 45mins or so. If you wished, you could keep returning to the machine and turning it off and on again to keep the hot plate running. However, in my opinion coffee starts to taste a little dull if it is keep warm too long. So if you want coffee all day, you could simple make more in smaller batches.

This is the second Delonghi purchased. The first one lasted 3 years and was badly lime scaled and the base plate had corroded through, possibly due to some misuse. .My only concern was that the part that holds the filter did not always close firmly and sometimes swung open. The new one seems more positive and also has a buzzer to tell you when it is turned off and on. Not a necessity as it has a light and the coffee needs to drain for a further period after the element turns off.It is simple to use not too expensive and i would not hesitate to buy another if necessary. This item was listed as prime but it did take 3 days to arrive.

I've owned numerous basic filter coffee makers over the last 20 years and most share one or more of the following characteristics: water leaks when filling the reservoir; coffee poring on hot plate when removing jug; coffee spraying everywhere when pouring; a clock/timer unable to keep anything like time. That this machine has none of those faults earns it five stars by my reckoning. I initially avoided buying because it needs paper filters, but a little research suggested paper can actually make healthier coffee than the permanent filters. Either way, the coffee certainly tastes smoother with paper, so no regrets.

Works well. It uses paper filter which I prefer. I am a French press love but I was fed up with washing coffee grinds down the sink and the mess so deliberately looked for a machine with paper filters and not a reusable filter which I need to wash etc. This does the job well. The coffee is less muddy than with a French press - which I missed at the start. The hot plate part only stays on for abut 30 mins which is a bit short but it does at least turn off as I would forget to turn it off myself.Update - I went back to using the cafetiere as the coffee from this coffee maker is not hot enough

After recently purchasing another brand of coffee maker and being very disappointed with it I was reluctant to buy another, so glad I did this product is really good, I rinsed it through as instructed and brewed the first jug and it was great to have a decent cup of coffee again, this machine makes coffee like my recently discarded faithful old one, it is easy to clean which is a must for me, the curved door does seem a little weak on the latch but it does stay closed whilst in use. The delivery was very fast just 2 days would definitely recommend this product.

I have been very impressed with this machine. I have used other drip machines before, but none have worked as reliably as this one has. It is extremely easy to use and produces a very pleasant cup of coffee. One frustration, however, is with the door which opens to add coffee grounds -- sometimes while brewing, it will blow open, leaking water. This happens as a result of user error (I haven't closed it correctly) but I feel it should have an auto lock function. This has only happened 2 or 3 times, so overall I am very happy with this purchase.

This is a replacement for the two De longhi coffee machines I have had over the last fifteen years. The quality of this one. Is nowhere near as good. I bought the basket for the coffee as an extra only to find it is Avery poor fit and jammed the dispenser, also the dispenser that holds the coffee is a loose fit, when it is closed it can bounce open a small amount, also the valve that lets the liquid thro stuck closed and the coffee leaked all over the counter. Not happy with my brand new machine.Basic.

I bought this gem of a coffee maker for my partner as a present.Everyday we now make delicious coffee with this coffee maker, and have never looked back.I always wanted one of these, and I'm now glad that I did. It's very easy to use and clean, although it has'nt needed cleaning.I use a permanent filter instead of paper filters as it lasts longer and easier to clean. The only problem I found was.It does'nt switch off automatically, but there again if you're making yourself coffee you won't leave the machine.

I never write reviews but was just so pleased with this coffee maker. It's easy to use, sturdy and looks very smart, but best of all it makes a really smooth cup of coffee. I've realised since getting it just how rough the brew my old machine was making tasted.I bought this machine based on the Which? review. Whilst I'm sure there are fancier machines out there, for a similar price I doubt you'll beat this product. Only downside I've noticed is its hard to clean out the water tank.
