We are part of the review panel and were sent this machine to test before it was on general release. We have owned the machine for some while now and so it is time for a review.Firstly I must say that we have only ever experienced regular filter coffee machines, so the whole bean to cup was totally new to us. Our first impressions was how small it was, this may be a negative for some as it will only do two cups/mugs at a time but as we are just a couple with a smallish kitchen this really suited us. Also the small form factor meant it takes up little space on the kitchen counter when compared to the huge filter machine we have, which normally has to be hidden away.Filling the machine is straight forward and the myriad of “beans” you can buy is amazing. We have a number of different types we choose form now for the mood we are in. Basically the grinder is inside the filter basket, so first it grinds and then it goes into regular filter mode. Because it’s a grinder it is of course a little noisy for the 15-30secs while it grinds the beans. There are two grinding settings one bean or two bean, this seems to be for one or two cups, although we tend to use the two bean all the time, a fully adjustable grind time would have been a nice feature as we have found some beans need more than one go at grinding to get the best from them. You can “double grind” by stopping the machine after the first grind and restarting so in effect you get a double grind. It then goes into filter mode and does the normal thing of dribbling water through the filter basket, you must wait for the machine to “beep” to tell you its over or it wont have filtered all the water through, which is a nice touch. We don’t understand the point of adding the ubiquitous clock and timer feature as the chances are you are unlikely to ever use it as the whole process is fairly quick anyway. As normal if you unplug the machine for even a millisecond the clock needs setting again, we’re in the 21st century now and almost all our clocks set themselves of have a battery back up so the whole clock setting thing is a bit of a pain and mostly I doubt it will be used. There is of course the noise during grinding which if it was say in a bedroom would definitely wake you up some 8mins before the coffee is ready. So on to flavour, well for us this was amazing, it does of course depend on your beans and how many you put in but with a bit of practice you can get some real cracking coffee, it was even good when we first used it and we didn’t really know what we were doing. You can of course just use it as a small regular filter coffee machine without the grinding function which is handy and there is a keep warm function but because it only does 2 cups generally they are used up in one go.Cleaning is a simple process as the complete grinder and basket assembly comes out and it all comes apart easily which is nice.Price wise its on the upper end we feel, it would have been nice to see it around the hundred pound mark and this could be its achilles heel but often you can get deals and offers which bring it down to this kind of area. Conclusion : A lovely compact bean to cup machine, we’d say its designed for couples or students where kitchen space is at a premium and that like a decent coffee. If you’ve not tried a bean to cup then it’s a good place to start, we now more often reach for the beans than the instant or ground.

I bought this a few weeks ago and for the cost, was not expecting a great deal, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The machine is well worth the money!!! I have a small kitchen, so I wanted a compact grind and brew machine. I like the design and ease of use and having freshly ground coffee in the morning is awesome. You can adjust the strength, by adding more or less beans, OK, it's a trial and error process, but when you compare the cost of other machines, it's a small price to pay (no pun intended!) Yes, it does need to be cleaned out after each use, but no biggie and comparable to regular filter machines. I for one cleaned out my old machine after each use, so this is no different.I would say give it a go, It takes up no more space than a regular kettle and I don't think for the price you can go wrong. I really like it - and am as pleased now as the day I bought it. I've seen the very few negative comments. Regarding "tasting of plastic". Well, it's made of plastic and that taste goes. It didn't cost £700 or more!!! It's the only one that fits under my cupboards! I use it at least 3 times a day, "Feels cheap" is a meaningless review. Mine hasn't broken and doesn't look like it's about to. It's been sturdy and efficient. It's one of the few things I've bought in decades about which I can say it worked out better than my expectations, and unusually it really IS easy to clean.. It's sub £100. Does it have a multimedia outlet? No. But it has a timer, stays on for 30 minutes after being ready with a hotplate and makes bloody good coffee.

Due to health reasons ,I only have use of 1 hand and have found this item both easy to use and clean I Just place into the filter unit coffee of your choice GROUND or BEANS then select type in use fill with water and switch on .IF beans in use grinder will start while water is heating when hot the water will filter and all is ready brewed drink is kept warm for about 20mins though I never have any left to keep warm. to clean filter after use is very easy.To sum up IT DOES WHAT IS SAYS ON THE BOX.

Bought this as it’s what suited me only me in the house drinks coffee and I only have 2 cups before work in the morning set the timer on the night wake up to fresh coffee and produces just enough for 2 cups used every day for the past 2 weeks can’t fault it on functionality build quality feels a bit cheap but has a decent guarantee so not that bothered about that cleaning is easy takes 5 mins had no instructions don’t know if this is everyone or just the one i purchased but it’s easy to use

This machine is absolutely great. The quality of the grind is ace, makes a great cup of coffee, although it says it makes 2 cups, it doesn't, but that's fine as it's only me that likes proper coffee. Maybe it does make 2 espresso cups, but who wants that?! I've not used the timer function but I'm sure it will be as good as the rest of the machine. I have actually recommended this to a friend and he loves his as much as I love mine. Can't recommend this enough! Brilliant for the price too!

This machine makes great coffee and I mainly bought it as you can use beans or ground coffee so only need one machine.I've only used ground so far.I didn't realise it was a small as it was until I unpacked it, the carafe only holds two decent sized mugs, so if you're intending on regularly making coffee for more than two people I'd get something else. However as I am the only coffee drinker in the house, for making two cups (or even one if that' all you want) it's perfect.

There is a smell of plastic the first few times that you use the product but to my palate it didn't affect the taste.. Because you can only make two mugs of coffee at a time it is ideal for occasional use . The inbuilt filter for pre-ground coffee isn't really up to the job ( lots of the finer particles ended up in the jug) and I used a cut down filter placed in the basket to cure the problem. No problems with using coffee beans and the inbuilt grinder.Overall good value for money

Ever since I got this well over 6mths ago I have used it every day, it's easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee , I love getting beans from local coffee merchants and this makes a faff free job of brewing a pot in the morning which I can set up on the timer the night before. I am the only coffee drinker in my household but its a pretty simple job to clean out and make a second pot if you have more than one guest . It makes enough for 2 good sized mugs per brew

I love this machine. It's small enough for me and produces just enough for a large mug of coffee. The ability to have this set brewing, ready for me in the morning, is an absolute bonus too. As I'm the only one who drinks coffee in the house it stops me wasting loads if I used a traditional sized makerThis is a single serving sized maker. If that's what you're after you won't go wrong with this little tinker. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a good cheap alternative to more expensive bean to cup machines for those who don’t want to spend big.It does have some odd design quirks such as the water tank being slightly awkward to fill without spillage (I now use a small funnel to avoid this issue).I noticed a lot of reviews say it doesn’t make 2 cups, it certainly doesn’t if you use mugs.Other than that it does have some good features and I’d say it’s good value for money overall

I always had coffee machines and love fresh coffees every morning before going to work. This is the first bean to cup coffee machine I’ve bought and it is brilliant! I had it for 10 days, have used it daily at least once with both whole beans and ground coffee, 2 full cups are ready in 10 mins, I use colombian roasted coffee and would recommend it without doubt. Perfect size for a small kitchen, studio, office... and great coffees at anytime in dew minutes!

Used it a few times now. Great coffee machine especially the coffee bean grinder makes it a near perfect coffee maker. It’s just too small. Good for 2 cups and as usual the glass jug is pretty thin. But this seems to be normal on most coffee makers. The grinder isn’t noisy which I expected and from start to finish it’s quite a quick process!! And beeps to let you know it’s done. I like it!! I love this coffee machine. It is ideal for one or two people. As the coffee beans are ground and then water poured over the coffee is fresh, with none of the bitterness of perculated coffee. The timer is fantastic, setting it the night before and getting up to freshly brewed coffee is a treat. The grinder is fairly noisy but if this bothers you the machine also takes ready ground coffee. Would definitely recommend this product

Absolutely adore this little machine. Compact and sleek design. Love the bean to cup option. Just about perfectly makes two mugfuls with added 'milk'. Uses only the water it needs rather than pumping more water through to clean pipes, like my old machine, so saves water and apparently it's A+ energy rating. Love the idea of the timer so your coffee could greet you in the morning but I don't use it.
