Another great buy due to an Amazon special! A glorious purchase from a less well known 'highlander'.....probably more midlander I reckon. 18 years old. Non-chill filtered (which really makes a difference), probably uncoloured but I'm not sure. Bourbon cask influence. Yum! On the nose it is almost creamy, like a strawberry ice cream, vanilla, oak. On the palate, again, a creamy feel, honey, butter, some sweetness but not predominantly sweet ,toffee, zero-smoke. Finish is medium-long, woody, warm, a bit spicy. So, I reckon this is about the best value 18 year old out there and I cannot see them cutting prices like this for long especially as the word gets out. Hmm...I really should keep my mouth shut.

Deanston are doing some great whiskies these days on a par with Springbank in my humble opinion.The 18 isn't cheap but you definitely get what you pay for no coloration in chill filtered its a whisky with numerous layers and a lot happening in the glassIf you want a decent whisky a bit cheaper try the Deanston 12 its also top notch whisky

I'm a great fan of Deanston's standard 12 yr old. But I have to admit being a little disappointed in this. Neat it taste a little light/raw spirity. That said adding just a splash of water allows this one to come alive. Was going 3 star, but with a little water - I'll go 4 -- good value as well.

If you like bourbon aged whisky do yourself a favour and just buy it! Great value for an 18 year old and worth every penny.(Full disclosure, I'm not a peat head, I do like a nice sherry finish but bourbon only is still a favourite! Naturally your mileage may vary...)

Deanston 12 is a staple of mine, so thought I'd try the 18.. Im glad I did, and its very good value for the money. Deanston usually do excellent work, and although they have made a few of late that were not up to their standards, this is well above the excellent 12.

For the price this is a very nice 18 yo malt, as it is bottled at 46.3% it is non chill filtered which I personally believe adds to its rich flavour which I would describe as sweet fruit / honey with a touch of vanilla

Really good whisky easily as good or if not better than many other 18 year old malts I have tasted in the past.Iam now a firm fan of Deanston Whiskies
