I took a chance on this as a bottle purchase after waffling over it for the better part of a year. I've been curious about Spice Tree in particular because the tasting notes sound so interesting. I'm really glad I took the plunge on this blended malt. It's got big, bold spices but has a smooth, rich finish. This can easily stand its ground against a more expensive bottle, plus I'm pleased to support an independent company.I'm sure I'll check out more from Compass Box in future if their other offerings are as good.

I love a single malt, but I also enjoy a quality blend, which this certainly is.If the 'spice' word is putting you off then don't worry too much. There are certainly flavours of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon present, but the vanilla flavour complements them to provide a fantastic tasting whisky with a lingering finish. There are no rough edges, making this a very pleasant drink when consumed neat.Nobody I have introduced this to has been disappointed.

This is another gem from the Compass Box stable. Cant imagine why I should pay through my nose for the fancy marketing gimmick employed in all most all the leading brands when such a great whiskey is available for a fraction of that cost. Great job John Glaser and team.

Compass Box really have made a name for themselves by thinking outside of the box. This is yet another great example and next on my list is their blended grain, Hedonism.
