I think the name might confuse people the first time you try this whiskey... it is not as full on "peaty" as say Ardbeg, Lagavulin or Octomore but what it offers is a complexity wrapped in peat.Notes of Creme Brulee, butterscotch, spice, leather and a fresh opened pack of hand rolling tobacco with a citrus and floral undertone. The taste is mesmerisingly smooth and complex opening up the flavours and the finish grows.... and grows.Overall this is a fantastic whiskey and testament to blended whiskeys really having something special to offer when done right. If you like your whisky peaty.. then this is worth every penny of your money.Summary...probably not as peaty as you are expecting but it will be much better than what you think you are getting.Score: 9/10 (over 300 whiskeys tested to date)

If you like a rich peaty whisky bursting with taste this is the one, very well blended together. I normally only drink single malts but this is blend has been done so well. Only other blend I like is Poit Dhubh from t.he Isle of Skye a totally different whisky but also competes with any single malts

Fantastic. Fast delivery and extremely well packaged. I am unable to comment on the taste as this was ordered for a gift.I am looking forward to giving it. I am sure they will be very happy. I would definitely recommend this seller and item. Very happy.?????

If you love peat, your'll love this, well balanced and nice after taste, mid range peaty blended whisky. On the nose you get a coal tar smell, however the taste is far rewarding. for the price and as a good whisky night take along its worth the purchase.

Always rely on folk at Compass Box to make something interesting. Plenty of peat as you’d expect from name but lovely touch of meadow flowers & fruit too. Like a bacon sandwich on beach with brown sauce, lovely drop.

Lovely malt - tried for the first time recently with my dad and we were both very impressed. Very peaty, but also subtle and fruity. Nice, complex, peaty whisky that doesn't overpower.

My favourite whisky! I have pushing 70 different malts, blends and bourbons. It is sweet and light, yet smokey and medium peat. A very nice tipple indeed!

I was recommended this by a friend and while the price can be a little off putting for some, I would definitely get some if you like this kind of whisky.

Husband is an Islay single malt purist, who would not normally touch a blended whisky. bought this whisky for xmas and it has gone down a treat

Bought for my dad as he loves islay whiskys and he was very impressed. This is now his third favorite behind laphroaig quarter cask and ardbeg.

A nice whisky but I hoped for a smokier taste. I did enjoy it, but my personal taste runs more to Ardbeg or Talisker Dark Storm

Bought based on a review of peaty whiskeys. Husband really happy with it. Definitely accurately named.
