These are great hiking and walking shoes, I recently took up walking 10,000 - 20,000 steps a day and my old shoes wore out dramatically quickly. I also decided that they were more for casual dress and less strenuous walking and was on the look out for some decent hiking shoes or boots, these are perfect. The shoes themselves are a snug, warm fit, they cover the ankle without being high legs, there is a loop to grab and pull them on or off with. The eyelets are woven loops and hard plastic loops at the highest point, I prefer these features to either holes or hooks which can wear and break laces or break themselves. The tongue is stitched in until probably the highest point. The sole has a great solid mold but does not pick up much mud, stones or other small debris when out walking requiring the shoes to be left at the door when going indoors. The fabric of the shoe itself makes the shoes very light, so you can walk for a longer time without it beginning to feel like you are walking with weights strapped to your feet, as it is possible to feel with heavier camping, hill walking or army surplus style leather boots. I have not been walking through any rivers like the people shown in the promotional video and it has been very dry this last few days but I did turn a garden hose on the shows to see if they would soak through and they remained water proof. I regard this as equal to what the heaviest down pour of rain is liable to be and think the shoes would remain dry in that instance.I have used these for yardwork, including shovelling stones, and they held up fine but they are softer fabric finish, so I'm not sure I would say that they are boots which could double as work boots and leisure hiking shoes. They are as comfortable as trainers and have something of a training shoes finish but they also have all the utility of hiking and trekking boots too. Recommended. I did not know the brand before I was supplied with these for review but I think I would consider the brand in the future and keep it in mind as much as say CATS or other brands.

These shoes arrived way before I expected them.Lovely looking walking shoes. I've bought a similar pair from Columbia before, bit lower on the ankle, I prefer these sort of ankle boots as they give more support. When I first tried them on I thought they were too tight and was considering returning them but after wearing them around the house for a few hours they bedded in and I don't like taking them off now. I am definitely a UK size 11, EU 45 but it can be hit and miss with walking shoes I find. These are perfect size for me as were my previous size 11 Columbia shoes. If you are normally an 11 1/2 I would advice looking for an UK 11 1/2 or 12, EU 46, these are definitely an 11.I've been out walking in them a few times now, nothing too serious but they are comfortable and have good grip. I was sceptical about the waterproofing as they have some mesh incorporated but so far so good. not sure how they would fair in really wet conditions and wouldn't expect them to remain waterproof as my old Columbias didn't.I've been through many different makes and types of walking shoe in my time but I'd say that these are my favourites without having to pay silly money. My last pair lasted two or so years and I wore them virtually every day. They are still in use but relegated to my gardening shoes. the sole is still in tact although obviously a bit thinner so I'm expecting similar results from these shoes as the construction seems to be the same. No rubber bits on the toes peeling back when the glue fails which seems to be a problem with some walking shoes I've owned.Over all, great looking shoe, comfortable, lightweight but strong, very comfortable and great value.

I have a cheap pair of hiking boots which I use occasionally and have done well considering how little I paid for them. However, after many years of faithful service I needed an upgrade, ideally something waterproof and most importantly, Dark Banana in colour (kidding). The Columbia Canyone Point are classes as shoes rather than boots, as they come up to the lower part of the ankle. This means they provide plenty of support to the ankle joint but give you more freedom of movement than a higher-leg boot. They are very comfortable to wear, with a decent amount of cushioning. The fit is a little tighter than I would normally expect in such a shoe/boot,however they do fit with a single pair of thick socks so I would class them as just about fitting as expected. The sole gives good grip and they seem waterproof enough. I've only tested them in puddles and wet mud and there has been no water seep inside, which is very welcome. The upper is tough but due to the mesh and overall design they are a bit of a pain to clean without being soaked in a bucket. The mesh is great for keeping the shoe generally breathable however, particularly with a thinner pair of socks. For the money, I think these are good value and a worthy purchase. Comfortable, well-made and hard-wearing I hope they will do a job for a good while. Highly recommended.

I love these shoes - hough more of a boot in a good way -they are really light yet also very supportive around the ankle which is good for uneven retain. They have a decent non slip type of sole and are said to be waterproof. I haven't fully submerged in different types of deep water to test just how waterproof they are. I suspect that given a lot of exposure to elements this could become compromised and like nearly all good footwear may need to be well looked after and possibally treated with re waterproofing occasionally. It would have been helpful to have provided aftercare instructions with them. As the tiny label symbols are not clear. A spare pair of laces would be helpful and often provided with hiking boots or shoes. But I would recommend for the average hill walker or treker. But if particularly hazardous terrain such as deep snow at altitude I would seek advice from a specialist. whilst the fabric may allow feet to breath it may not be warm enough in sub zero temperature for prolonged periods of time. These are perfect for walking and trekking in most parts of the UK and their lightweight combined with ankle support is a rare combination at this pricemark. The fit is slightly smaller than expected so would definitely order a full size up from your usual or even 2 if going to be wearing double socks.

4 stars for the shoes, 1 for the service. I did what I usually do - put them in the basket without looking where they come from. Years of no problems with returning things to Amazon have lulled me into a false sense of security. The shoes were fine, just not quite comfortable and I preferred the others I ordered at the same time. Then it came to returning them. I couldn’t return these to Amazon, but had to send them to Spain. They advise tracking, which cost me £17.25. If I had known I would never have ordered them of course. I admit the fault is mine, but still that’s a lot of wasted money and I would hate for anyone else to do the same. I advise double checking the provenance of everything from Amazon now,I’ve had yeast arrive months later from China (straight in the bin) and a top from China which was really awful, but was allowed to keep if I lied and gave a good review (straight in recycling).

Got these for my niece and her overall comment is that they are “lovely”. We received size five shoe - while she normally goes for a four and half - but thought the five might work out.The Uppers are a combination of suede leather, mesh and rubber overlays. With high cushioning, ventilated and cooling midsole. While outsole is pretty much traction rubber.Well the niece found that the shoes fit well. Width of the shoe was pretty good, nevertheless she does not think they are narrow. She found that they are very light weight, compared to older shoes of a similar type, and seem well made. Good lateral support. If you want non-slip footwear, which is water proof too, then these seem to have very good grip whatever the weather.

I've recently started walking and was in need of some proper shoes. This pair were are good match for my needs, not too heavy but robust enough to give good support and grip. They are very comfy around the ankle, something I've had difficulty with in the past with walking boots. The colour and design are pretty standard and what I'd expect, however they were extremely supportive without feeling restrictive. They are a bit neater than ordinary shoes ... I find this is often the case with these types of boots, so a half size bigger for me us perfect meaning I can also fit a warm pair if socks underneath. Overall I'm happy with them and think they're a good option.

First pair of these boots, I usually go for Merrells.Fit as expected. I'm a size 10 and there are no issues once worn a couple of days. The rear heal padding on the left boot collapsed in on itself on day three. More due to me hurrying to put them on and as a result it now always moves as I put it on but easily pulled right. No issues with he right boot.Took them up Versuvius. Not a single problem. Good level of grip and despite a warm day feet never felt hot.I added my own insoles and there is still enough room inside.Had them over a week with about 15 miles a day on them. No sizes of wear or tear inside or out.

Well made and comfortable walking shoes. Had originally brought a pair 6 and a half which was too small, though had gone up half a size. Returned and refund given. Then ordered a pair that went missing, so never turned up, so had to have yet another refund. Third time lucky, the boots are with my son. Going up another half a size means they fit perfectly and he is very happy. Though the shoes had to be returned and refunded, it all went smoothly and was very quick, so thank you Amazon.

These are really lovely boots. I got a size 5, and they were a bit snug to begin with, but they feel like slippers on your feet, so extremely comfortable than even after a 10 mile hike my feet didn't hurt. The grey and blue are nice and very much unisex colours. The suede upper is good quality and so far have proved waterproof walking through wet grass and on the beach.Never heard of this brand before but would happily buy more from them.

The hiking boots look good and are very functional. I have used them for 4 hiking trips and they have worked just as expected. The only small issue I have is that it pinches the last toe of my left foot a little after some walking. But that could be due to the shape of my foot. The sizing does come a little smaller so it is best to order at least half a size up depending on the shape of your foot. All in all, these boots are recommended!

Great boots. I was surprised at how light they were and comfortable from the start without having to wear them in.I'm a typical size 9 UK and bought the 9.5 and they fit just fine. Apparently you should buy at least a half size bigger for hiking boots.Haven't tested them in adverse conditions but will amend this review once I do.Very happy with the product so far.

I have a wide foot so went to a size larger and was comfortable. The only thing was the stitching in one heal was not done well so I needed to work it with my fingers to get it right. I hope this is not going to be a problem as otherwise I was very pleased with these boots. For someone that can spend hours in a shop finding the right pair is incredible.

Had these boots for a couple of weeks now, they are extremely comfortable and light, and I have used them for long walks (streets and paths) on rainy days, and I am very pleased with them. I bought a size, 15 one size larger than my normal petite size 14, and do not regret it as they fit well. Highly recommended.

I bought these for the Camino de Santiago. No bother breaking them in and I have now completed the 800K in 34 days without injury and only two very small blisters. The boots are as good as new despite all their hard work! They were my best friends!
