These are really small, look much better than the typical larger ones and also seem to be of very high quality. I went for the 5 year battery and 10 year product life. It was easy to fit as I just untwisted the old one and twisted in the new one.NOTE:When any smoke/fire/heat alarm is installed the user/owner instructions should be checked to see if there’s a recommended replacement date. This is more common than it used to be and seems to follow feedback from users so manufacturers and testing authorities gauge the life of sensors and other degradation caused by build up of grim and dust etc.As with most alarms if the battery is not fitted it can’t be attached to the holder - this unit has a small red visible pin which physically prevents attachment.

Really small! Be warned it comes with no English instructions and there's none on the Elro website (even though it's in English)! However, it's simple enough and you just need to remove the battery strip to enable it. A single button enables you to test it or silence it after going off. Comes with the necessary fittings although I used the Elro RMAG3 magnetic attachment to avoid drilling screws into the ceiling.

Watched bigclive take one apart. I've got fed up with the cheaper ones failing in one way or another so i purchased one. Small and easy to fix. No problems so far.

Good product would reccomend .easy to install as fixing to ceiling it just took 5 mins
