Just installed this item and it is working perfectly and therefore I am pleased, having returned another brand which failed on day 1.The instructions are essentially useless and you should disregard others comments regarding wiring and grommets etc as these users obviously have no basic electrical DIY skills whatsoever and perhaps should not be fitting a simple sensor switch themselves.I have mounted my unit contrary to pictorial instructions on a porch ceiling - i.e. upside down with the sensor rotated to a parallel position pointing at my drive. This means you have no direct access to the 3 controls but that doesn't matter once the unit has been set up.The PIR swivels on its mount so if you need to make an adjustment that is not a major problem but you need to note the angle of pointing beforehand to return it to its ideal position. The range is great and I will need to lower the sensitivity as it is picking up passers-bye on the main street. With a two year warranty this is a great buy and I have just ordered a second unit which will be wall mounted for another light. I am using LED lights and there are no issues whatsoever. If the unit is mounted on a wall as intended as shown in the picture you will have easy access to the 3 controls. My first installation is unconventional but I wanted a ceiling mounted sensor and this seems to work just fine.

Bought this to replace a unit that failed because the detector unit outside plastic deteriorated over time and eventually became holed.I went to my first order and requested a repeat but when the unit arrived it was obviously bigger. Rather than take down the old unit and rewire I used the new detector with the old base. Everything was fine but there is a small tube in the swivel unit that can be too long so that you cannot tighten the screw thread so a quick use of a hacksaw and you can fit ok. The wiring was easy but beware the red goes to the bulb and brown is the live, blue is neutral so ok. Take not notice of the wiring diagram as it is useless. Now after a bit of adjustment it is working.Next time I will try to get just the detector as could be cheaper. For some reason the latest sensor unit does not work at all if positioned straight out from the base to the road, but does work if you angle slightly to the left a few degrees. This means the internals are a bit out but if it lasts six months I will be lucky. Going for a combined lamp and sensor next time probably spending much more.

Received ahead of delivery date. Fitting instructions, at first, appeared daunting but I quickly realised that much of it was a duplicate in several other languages. For me this is always reassuring as it suggests that the product is being successfully sold in many countries around the world. All necessary fitments, screws rawlplugs and grommets come supplied with the sensor and the elecrical connections that are required are very easy to do. Once installed the sensor can be set to allow a 'walking' test under normal daylight conditions, so that you may make adjustments of angle etc., to ensure that the sensor is detecting motion in the full area you wish to protect. This is a very effective sensor, yet inexpensive. I have no reservations in rating it with five stars and recommending it to all who may be viewing it.

I have had several of these over the years, and they have all worked well enough until one day they stop working, either leaving the light on all the time, failing to detect when it's dark, or not switching on at all. I have a pair on my garage, so the lights come on whichever direction you approach, and the other one has been on there for many years without issue, but this one has been replaced 2 or 3 times. No idea why, as they both do the same job, although this one faces South, so maybe they don't like strong sunlight? The instructions are not very good, and the adjustment controls are very fiddly and difficult to see, especially when installed. Tip: familiarise yourself with the controls, and span of adjustment before you install it, so you get a feel for them.

This sensor is perfect, i've got this fitted above a front door. The sensor is so sensitive it can detect people as soon as they come into the front gate which is about 20 feet away. This was a little too sensistive, so i just turned down the sensetivity dial underneath the unit until it was just right. you can turn adjust how long the (light in my case) is on for. This is done via a dial also underneath the unit. The instructions are ok, just take your time to read them and you'll be ok. I would highly recommend this unit as it's well made and is very cheap.

Standard fare as a PIR. Seems to be working ok now but I had a merry dance on testing. The tiny lux/time/sensor controls underneath are not very accurate and difficult to adjust. Couldn't get it to switch off until I dismounted the whole unit and altered the controls where I could see them!Inside the box is reasonably well laid out but there is the usual problem of squeezing in the cables. The single grommet at the back has trouble accepting two standard cables so I would recommend some additional silicone sealant when the unit is mounted.

This was used, not very originally, in a garage for automatic light illumination. In terms of what it advertises, I would suggest that it doesn't have the range that it states, but performs well enough for my purposes. Sometimes it can seem...lazy. I'm not sure how to describe it. When pulling in and out of the garage, it will sometimes react instantly and others only after a pause.Having said all of that, it was easy to install and once time has been spent setting the exact time you want it on and how long for, it has been perfect.

I bought this detector to work in conjunction with the "Straight Batten Lamp Holder" in my garage to save turning on the fluorescent tubes every time I went in there. For well under £10 it represents very good value and has been working fine for a couple of months now. It is fully adjustable for sensitivity, length of time the bulb is lit and the light levels when it operates. It seems quite well made and is fine for internal use but I don't know how long it would last outside, but at the price you could afford to buy a spare one.

I bought this PIR Detector through Amazon to replace a failed one on a floodlight. I'm not an electrician but this item was easy enough to instal and it does a really good job. There are adjustments for Sensitivity, 'On' time and Ambient light. Poorer products often allow no adjustment so the light comes on when its not required. This one is fully adjustable. And I'm about to buy a second. Some reviews suggested it might not last very long. I've only had mine for a few days, so fingers crossed it keeps going.

I bought three of these to improve the security lighting outside the house. On reading the instructions, however, I found they are intended for indoor use only! No hint of this in the Amazon online blurb. Since I am using them under the eaves of the house, and since they are obviously sealed against moisture ingress, I went ahead and installed them anyway. Eight weeks down the line, no problems, so hopefully it is the instructions that are incorrect.

I found this sensor relatively easy to install with no major issues to report. The only minor point I have to report is thefact that the gromets which the wires pass through were too stiff and could not be easily fixed into the unit itself after the wires had been passed through. Other than this, the detection of movement and switching the light on and the time which teh light remained on was spot on. Not a bad product for the price

nice and easy to fit , try and remember what the three adjuster position are because being black like most pirs they are hard to see under the module there.but hey don't worry the instructions are fine, and another thing you can use energy saving bulbs as per the instructions. take note supplier of this as you didn't know when I asked. all working fine so far, it works very well not bad value for the money.

Works really well. Slightly tight wiring in the junction box. Could do with clearer instructions on the controls - esp. the one marked sunlight. (Turns out it controls the degree to which the output is switched on in ambient light conditions - use it to prevent security lights coming on during the day.)

I have had one of these for years, however, over time, it has become ever more sensitive. These days even a passing snail would switch on my outside lights and it was costing a fortune. A new unit has resulted in normal sensitivity and the unit works fine. It was delivered promptly and was well packed.

Did not receive the first dispatch, however the seller responded without delay and sent me another and I received it within five days. It was straight forward to install and works exactly as described restoring my outside light to its former glory. Excellent value for money and well recommended.
