I've had different design travel cups from this company in the past and even though I was pleased with them I encountered different problems with them over time so I've never bought the same one twice.I love that these really do keep your drinks hot or cold for hours on end.I apologise for the lengthy review in advance but it's difficult to explain the problems I've encountered in layman's terms. The main problem I've had with others is cleaning the tops/lids by hand. They have had fiddly bits which are difficult to wash by hand. This one is so simple to wash by hand, but because of this it doesn't have the spill proof design like the others. You simply flip up the switch on the lid and it opens the mouth piece,(like a seesaw effect)but, it stays open until you close it so it isn't spill proof. The reason I've deducted a star is because I've encountered a couple of issues that have developed over time.On a few occasions I've had leaks from where the lid attaches to the cup. On investigation its because the seal has come displaced and needed to be reinserted into the rim. As the cup keeps drinks hot for hours it can cause a nasty accident so caution is needed. I've realised that the best and safest way to test this is when the lid is first put on after a few seconds open the switch and you will hear a "pop" sound as the steam releases. If the seal isn't in place this won't happen. This is a much safer way to test it, in my oppinion, than tipping it up to see if it spills.Another slight problem I've had is where the drink comes out of the drink hole, it doesn't come out as easy as when I first got it, it's more of a dribble now rather than pouring it as it used to. I've realised that if I push the flip switch as high as it will go then it forces the stopper further away from the drink hole (its the best way I can describe it) and solved the problem.I'm hoping that these are 2 common fixable problems and not faults that will get worse with time.Apart from that I really love this cup. It keeps drinks hot, not just warm, for hours, just like a vacuum flask.

I bought this as it was cheap and needed a rotation partner for my Contigo transit, which I was using so much, it was starting to get a bit unhygienic. I went for this as it was just 12 pounds which is very good value for money. It actually feels nicer in the hand than the transit, is not as tall while holding the same volume, the heat (and cold) retention is as outstanding as we have come to expect from contigo and the vivacious colour is really nice.Where the transit wins, however, is the closing mechanism. The snap shut aspect of this mug is just not very user-friendly. Certainly not one-handed use as advertised. It's extremely stiff and needs quite a lot of pressure applied. This means you end up leaving it open for sipping and if accidentally knocked over, spillages do occur. The transit is permanently shut by default and you open to sip by pressing a spring-loaded button, which is convenient to use and definitely one-handed. I reach for my mug often when I am working on the laptop/external keyboard so the watertightness aspect is important for me. On that note, I've not noticed any leaking that reviewers are complaining about. That all said, this is still a great mug if you are happy to use two hands to close it after each sip or don't mind leaving it open, just 12 quid too. Only 4 stars from me though. My recommendation, if you are in two minds, is to go for one of their autoseal mugs - absolute peace of mind and convenience that way.

Some people are blatantly lying about this product, saying it will keep your drink warm for 12 hours or some nonsense. No, it will keep your drink hot for 2-3 hours max, and you should not expect more from it than that. This was designed for people who want a drink to remain hot for a few hours, so it was designed to be thinner and smaller because of that (it would need to be far thicker and bulkier to keep stuff hot longer). This is not a thermos you take on a fishing trip or something. This is designed for people who want it on the way to work, on the way to school, to put at your computer desk while you're busy with something. One negative I will say is this was designed to fail in a year or so (maybe far less if you use it every day),you can see the design choice behind the pop opening is to fail and you buying a new one. The joints and action are going to weaken from constant use, it's going to start leaking or it won't close properly. Fatigue of the joints are going to break it and that was a choice they made on purpose so you buy another one. You also can't screw the top off and drink from it that way, so it forces you to use the pop system to wear it out.Aside from that, it does what it's supposed to and it's not too expensive. When it breaks I'll be buying a different brand.

I now own 6 Contigo Byron Snapseal 24 oz Travel Mugs & 1 Contigo Snap Seal Superior Stainless Steel Tumbler, 20-Ounce, Gunmetal. They are great, Keep coffee and tea hot for at least 8 hours even warm enough to drink for 6 hours with the lip open as such to drink.I put ice cubes in and filtered water for long trips, keeps water cold for 12 hours even with top ups on the go.Others state they leak and inner seal falls out.Inner seal has come out once or twice, all I did was clean the seal and put back in place and pushed it in firmly with a cotton bud. All sorted.Leaks, Not rearly. on the odd occasion you get a dribble when you first open it on take a drink. The fix is take off lid and replace it again turn it upside down and shake.if it still drips do the same again. Once in 100 times it needs this.Cleaning, Not reccomended by Contigo. I put the lid and cup in the dishwasher. As you can see the paint comes off.Not an issue for me as one in the picture had been dropped 20/30 times and is quite dented.3 are almost 4 years old.The one with the handle is put in the dishwasher and so for no paint has come off. They take a licking and keep on ticking. As you can see in the pictures.Only issue for some would be they do not fit in the cars cup holdes.5 Stars all the way.

I'm loving this mug.I'll start with my one negative and then move on to the positives. My only issue is the the switch (not sure what to call it) is somewhat difficult to use at first. After a while though it's less stiff and easier to use. It's still a bit tough to use but I guess it should be really. Now the good things:First of all, it really does keep things hot. My carer (I'm disabled) made me a cup of tea but it was too hot to drink so I decided to wait for it to cool. Nearly 2 hours later I remember it and thought it'd be warm at most. It was still too hot to drink! The mug is also lovely to drink from. The area that you drink from is perfectly shaped. It's actually comfortable to drink out of (and I've never even said anything like this about any cup or mug before). The design is beautiful. I got the black one and it really is jet black and as glossy as it appears in the picture. The picture is 100% accurate. The rubber that goes around the cup is very firm and feels like it will last a long time.I was a bit worries about this but the lid is easy to clean. The lids mechanism isn't awkwardly complicated thankfully. And I should add that so far, there's been no issue with leaking, even after I turned it upside down a bunch of times to check :)

I should say, I am not a very trusting person when it comes to online purchases, but I do it anyway out of no choice. It took me hours to finally decide on which thermos flask to buy, but, I have never been happier.1. Its tightly sealed characteristic is as true as said; no leakage?2. My coffee/tea remained hot for atleast 8hours. I tried putting cold drink and ice cubes at 8.20am closed it, at 9pm, the ice cubes were still there yet to dissolve! I screamed in disbelief!??3. It is so Light weighted.Overall, I love my flask.Discliamer: I have only just started using it.However, I've been using it everyday for almost 2 weeks now and the testimony remains the same! The four star is for margin of error, just incase the flask starts misbehaving after a couple of months hahahaha. But take my word for it,this is a good buy!... JUNE 2020UPDATE :Fast forward to March 2021,my flask is still. Wonderful, dropped a couple of times clumsy hahaha, but still working great. Doesn't keep my tea hot for 16 hours, however, 10hours of sizzling hot isn't bad either after everyday use for almost a year. The liquid tends to leak out only IF THE RUBBER BAND ON THE INSIDE OF THE COVER LOOSEN. So try to keep the rubber band flat and you're good to go!

I absolutely love this cup and it sees me through til lunch time without and actually break at work. I make my drink at 7am and by 9 its still that hot you would need to blow it ?. By 10ish its cool enough to drink but still hot (I don't like cold coffee) by half 11 it's tepid to me and by 12 for me it's too cold. I must admit I thought it would keep hot for longer but if you're using like me to avoid a morning break it should do the job. I first struggled with the lid as I couldn't work out how to use it but you simply push the lip upwards, the drinking spout is great in my opinion and you can tell the temperature of the drink before it hits your mouth so don't burn yourself.Cleaning inside the cup is not the easiest as it's not easy to get the cloth/sponge down to the bottom and I have noticed it is becoming scratched inside too. I know some have said to use the dishwasher but I read reviews that said the colour would come off and I don't want that. The only other issue I have is its not very easy to wash the rubber bong part on the lid, it's very difficult to get to it but if you don't clean it properly you get a brown dirty residue on it.

So, it's gonna be a long one... Take care, Amazon's full of fake reviews and that ultimately can prevent you from purchasing a good productI'll start with the pro(s):*Does what advertised*Looks sturdy, and in fact it is, study*Durable unless you decide to play catch with your dog & drops a lot in a stony field, but who does that, right??*Heat retention is great*Not at all looks like a CHEAP PRODUCT*Definitely easy to cleanCon(s):*Still trying to find one*Yea the color retention is indeed gonna be a problem if you're looking for that but since I purchased the stainless steel one so, that ain't gonna be a problem for me :)Suggestion(s):*Do not believe the reviews which says OH NO IT IS A BAD PRODUCT*Do not believe the reviews which says I GOT DENTED('mishappens'do happen, just replace the product and you're good to go)*Do not believe the reviews which says PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT or WASTE OF MONEY as it is not(simply go to market, purchase a bucket and have fun drinking with that, ain't no one's stopping you. Do not spread the falsified statements or reviews etc)

This is really large holding 720ml of liquid and keeping it hot for several hours and I mean really hot. Filled with tea and it's still almost too hot to drink three, four even five hours later. It's tall, but not so wide that it doesn't fit into my car cup holder. The mechanism for opening this is simple. Flip up the catch which opens the drinking hole at the opposite side of the lid and the air hole underneath the catch. Having it open doesn't appear to increase the cooling dramatically .When sealed this is totally leakproof. The only problem would be if the catch was flipped open accidentally, but the seal is pretty tight, so I think this is very unlikely. It's comfortable to hold and well made.I don't doubt that the painted steel could scratch or chip if you were rough with it or let it knock around a bag with sharp items. Otherwise with normal use it should stand up to normal use. I wouldn't suggest putting it in a dishwasher though.Overall a bit more expensive than other thermal mugs but a good robust product.

Best travel mugs I've ever owned and I've gone through many over the last 15 years or so. I have a few of these now as I take them on to building sites 5 days a week and often use them at weekends when I'm out and about too. The first is still going strong and the only reason I have more than 1 is because I occasionally forget to bring it home with me so I have a spare for the next morning. Being used at work especially on a building site the coating does get marked and scratched hence why I've recently purchased another that I keep for the weekends only. In the last three years I've been using them I have experienced leaks on only a handful of occasions when the inner seal has came out but is easily sorted by using something thin to push it back in.The product is great however I'm a bit disappointed with amazon at the fact they're charging nearly £22 to their prime members almost double the usual retail price of around £12-15. Especially greedy considering they've just cashed in on a bumper 2020 with all thats happened.

This one is not quite as good as the Autoseal ones as far as keeping stuff hot, but it is good enough for me to bring coffee in the car, go for a walk for an hour or two with the dog, and still have hot enough coffee when I get back to the car, and it retains heat better than a few cheaper types I've used. The seal mechanism is click to open or shut, and when shut it seems totally leakproof. The only downside is that you could be tempted to leave it open, and hence get a spill when you brake etc. The Autoseal types are only open when you grip them and press the knob. For me the big advantage of this one is the lid is wide open for cleaning, really easy, any kitchen sink brush would do.The Autoseal one I had was a pain - you'd need a pipe-cleaner or something to really get into the deep sections to get the brown crud that builds up after a while.By the way - It's worth checking the size and colour selections - sometimes one colour can be substantially cheaper than the others.

This flask is awesome! The best bit, it stays HOT for 4-5 hours+ (Dependent on outside temperature).Regally working in areas that require cups to have lids on, regularly on the road and being a "Brew Monster" this flask/mug is perfect for me.With a 0.75ltr capacity and the retention of the heat, what more can you ask for. I've had Contigo flasks before, same design, but smaller and found them to be pretty good. That's why I went for this. Great design, easy to fill, but you need a brush to clean the inside... too long for any fingers. The only things you need to watch out for with these flasks is the rubber seal on the lid. If it's not seated correctly (and it's a bugger to seat it) after cleaning, the flask will leak. All you need to do is remove the seal again, wet it with clean water and replace it. Don't try it dry, its a nightmare. But if wet, slides in nicely.

These are great!! Bought one from a shop for my husband Several months ago and he really likes. So when he ran it over with the digger at work I had to find him another ASAP! I purchased two of these from this seller and they arrived super fast. One unfortunately had a dent in so I contacted them for a return and exchange. This was done smoothly. I received the new mug within a couple of days. These mugs are easy to hold, fits nicely in his cup holder and keeps his drink of morning coffee super hot even after a couple of hours driving to work! Easy to clean, no nasty extra rubber bits for drinks to sit in and go yucky like some cheaper ones. Just give it a good soak in warm soapy water before wiping inside and rinsing.Simple! The snap seal that opens for drinking from us quite stiff but it does it’s job at keeping the drink warm and not spilling. A great cup

This is a good looking mug for coffee lovers. I used a couple of times for now no leaks and keeps very hot that I have to wait my coffee to cool before I seal the lid. Otherwise I cannot drink :)Pros:- it looks like I don’t have to worry about leaks. I will update this In a year- not so expensive (bought it for £12) for the brand- keeps warm for hours good for taking for long walks- lid is dishwasher safe (I never put these lids though)Cons for me:- I wash it by hand as advised by producer but it is a bit long to wash without a bottle brush- smallest one is 470ml and it is too big for me being very heavy and tall.- a nonslip bottom would be better as the product is tall- drinking hole is verysmall I barely get used to itEdit: sometimes it’s a bit hard to drink from it yet never leaked so far.

I already own a Contigo flask but my partner keeps using it. I bought her one which turned out to be a little smaller. The overall design and lid work brilliantly. The flask is robust, ergonomic and easy to use even one handed. The one I bought for my partner turned out to be a little shorter than mine but otherwise almost the same. However the one difference my partner noticed was that it doesn't keep liquid hot for as long. It's probably ok for three or four hours but after a little longer it'll be a bit cooler. The conclusion I've come to is that it's fine for drinks on the go as long as you'll consume them in four hours or so. Anything longer than that then a good old flask is possibly better but a lot more inconvenient to use.I'd still buy another Contigo for all it's other excellent features.
