Looking to downsize from my previous vacuum flask, I have been looking for a Travel Mug so jumped at theopportunity to test this one produced by Tefal, in stainless steel with a capacity of 0.36 litre. It is encased in a rubber type grip, finished in red, giving you a firm hold of the mug and of course whichinsulates your hand from the heat of the drink.I tested the Travel Mug with both tea and coffee and I can state that without doubt it kept the drink hotbut also it's integrity in that it tasted equally as good later on. Furthermore on another testing I tasted the drinkjust on four hours later. Again the heat and taste quality was retained. In terms of cold drinks,I placed water and fruit juice into the mug and using similar conditions, both shortly afterand four hours later the results were the same. The temperature of the drinks stayed cold and the taste qualitywas fine and the same as when I filled up the Mug. It has a 360 degree drinking facility so whichever you incline theMug, your drink will flow evenly. It is activated by pressing the central button at the top and for closing you reverse theprocess. Simple.Capacity wise, 0.36 litre equates to what I would term a large drink and met my requirements. I used it on thetrain, in the car and also took it in my rucksack on a walk. The Travel Mug has the feel of quality, and robustness.Incidentally, it fitted snugly in to the receptacle in my car. The manufacturer states that it should fit the standardslot in a motor vehicle, so that is also correct. So, in terms of cleaning -it is dishwasher friendly. That is a first in my experience in that my previous vacuum flasksall required to be hand washed. So, that is another thumbs up.Environmentally, it certainly ticks all the boxes - no need for plastic cups ! You can of course fill up the Travel Mugyourself with your favourite drink -mine being hot chocolate, but there may be scope to have it filled by some ofthe well known high street drink sellers.Overall, this is a great product with no shortcomings and I am pleased to recommend.

I have several flasks of similar styles for carrying hot and cold drinks and soup, but this is one of my favourite designs. It is a sleek shape without any external handles avoiding bulk and risks of them cracking or snapping off if the flask is accidentally dropped. Instead, the embossed silicone outer is easy to grip, particularly in the freezing cold temperatures I tested it in and is warm and comfortable to the touch. Rather than having a small flip-opening in the top, this has a unique opening design whereby the centre button plunger is pushed to open or close the drinking mechanism. Underneath, the centre rises/falls and this ensures it is easy to drink from all sides without any spillage. The top also fully removes for easy cleaning and, best of all, unlike the rest we have, it can be washed in the dishwasher making it the most practical flask we've used.In terms of performance, I used it in snowy weather in temperatures of -1 to +3°C and it kept coffee piping hot for the proclaimed 4 hours giving it a very good 'field' test (literally). Cold drinks remained cold, as anticipated in the cold outdoor temperatures so the only way to test warm/hot weather performance was to leave it in our lounge with the woodburner to replicate a 22°C day. There was absolutely no taint from the mug, even when used with even very dilute squash. Leaks were tested for by carrying it on its side for bumpy rides in my bike carrier and not a drop seeped out. With its aluminium construction, it can also withstand a few bumps whereas a traditional glass thermos flask would be more fragile and require more gentle handling.Due to the central drinking mechanism, this flask is suitable for fluids only and not soup where any solids could become stuck. Soup can, of course, be carried in the flask and dispensed into a cup or bowl. For anyone looking for a well-made, robust, fairly rugged, leakproof and insulated, taint-free drinking mug, this is definitely one to consider and is backed by a confidence-inspiring 5-year warranty.

This travel mug has a top which unscrews, allowing you to fill it up and then you simply press the centre button down to allow you to drink from it when ready. This is basically like having your own inbuilt cup, as you don't have to use the lid to drink from it as with most flasks. You can also drink from any part of the rim, which is handy when you are busy. The best thing about this mug is that is does not leak at all in my experience. It's one of the only flasks I have owned (with the exception of a small Thermos) where I am happy to have it loose in my rucksack or handbag and trust it not to leak whichever way up it is. The seal on it is really watertight, which can mean it is a bit harder to unscrew sometimes, but I think the non-leaking more than makes up for this. The only issue I have had is the fact the centre button is quite shallow so on a couple of occasions I haven't realised it was still open and went to put it in my bag, so this is one to watch. It fits in a regular size mug of tea and keeps drinks warm or cool for hours. I regularly leave mine 6 or so hours whilst I am at work and come back to a great temperature tea on my break.A friend borrowed this from me and has since gone on to purchase one themselves as they liked it so much. It is nice to the touch, having textured rubber sides and I find it also cleans really easily and doesn't hold a smell like some flasks can do. A fairly pricey flask, but worth it for the peace of mind of a non-leaking flask which really retains the heat in your drink.

This is a fine Travel Mug from Tefal. It has just enough capacity to fit liquid equivalent to a medium Cappuccino from Costa Coffee.Environmentally friendly and saves you a little bit of money each time as most of the coffee shop retailers will offer you a discount if you use this, instead of a disposable cup.I have now used this a few times. Will take some time to make up the initial outlay of £20,but you will get there in the end.The first time I thought the flask was faulty,as the liquid spilled from the travel mug, when I thought it was firmly closed. This was because the flask at the time was in the open position. When you release the insert to get to the cup, there is a button in the cup, ifthis is fully elevated then the travel mug is closed,if compressed then the flask is open.So make sure you have it in the right position when travelling with fluid inside it,otherwise this travel cup will spill. The cup itself is a little on the small side and closing and opening the travel mug I Find is a little stiff. The flask is made of stainless steel, with a red insulated body for comfortable carrying.I have also tried this by making a cup of tea and pouring it in the travel mug at home to test its thermal qualities.I can confirm that the travel mug does indeed retain the heat of your beverage for up to 4 hours. My Tea was still warm after 4 hours,so top marks for that.

This travel mug is my all time favorite and I’ve had a fair few taking freshly brewed coffee to the office every day for years. The product can be used for hot and cold liquids, but not fizzy drinks. Have only evaluated keeping things warm for now. I prewarmed the mug as I always do with boiling water for a few minutes before adding coffee from an expresso machine and warmed milk. The coffee stayed warm enough to drink for several hours. The rubberized outside is good and grippy. The opening is released by a push button in the centre which creates a gap round the outside. The coffee is easy to pour or drink with the valve open, no need to remove the lid. Many of my coffee mugs leak a little,as new I could get this to leak, but will see if it stays that way after months of use.The inner lid mechanism does however unscrew and the whole lot can go in the dishwasher for cleaning. There are two small points I’m not so fond of. The central button in quite large wide enough for the biggest thumbs but like all buttons is not optimal to press with long finger nails. The screw in top does not line up easily, I’ve had to be very careful not to cross thread the screw. My other cups you just put the lid on and turn, don’t know why I’m finding this quite so fiddly.

Although I have not tested it on cold items I can certainly testify that it does indeed keep hot drinks hot for an impressive amount of time. Unfortunately I have not had the willpower to test the claim that it keeps drinks hot for up to four hours but I can confirm that one coffee remained piping hot after three and a half hours; all my other coffees have not been allowed to remain unfinished for that long! Compared to other travel mugs I have used this is certainly impressive though. Although I would have preferred it to have a handle the red silicone sleeve allows you to get a good grip and the base is non-slip so it will not slide around when placed on the table of a moving vehicle. The most convenient feature though is the button; push it in to enable you to drink the contents and push it again to seal it up. Although the seal is certainly not 100% effective as you can get a little leakage when it is upturned, it is definitely an improvement on what I have found with previous travel mugs. This travel mug is certainly not cheap, costing perhaps four times more than ones that can be readily purchased in supermarkets. It does what is asked of it well though and it has a five year guarantee so I suppose that this makes it a reasonable purchase.

As we are all getting more concerned about the wastage of single use items, reusable mugs are becoming more popular, not just for travel, but for hot drinks on the go.My first thought here was spillage. I filled the mug with hot tea, as much as I thought it would take and close, then screwed the lid back on, and pressed the button to seal. I then turned it upside down over the sink. There was initially a small amount of leakage, which then stopped. I don't know if that was overfill, or a small amount can get caught in the closure mechanism. I would advise turning it upside down when first sealed to avoid spillages. But then it was absolutely sealed, nothing leaked at all.The mug itself has no handle, but has a red thermal grip area, which does not heat up. To use, you have to press the button to unseal, and then unscrew the top. The inside is stainless steel, which does help keep the drink warm (or cold). I found after about 10 minutes the temperature of the drink had not noticeably fallen; it was still 'hot'.This is a great item, and would be perfect to keep in your bag for those hot drinks on the go. Use this rather than a disposable cup which can't be recycled.

This is an incredibly good travel mug and it's basically a flask with a quick press opening / closure that means you don't have to unscrew the top to drink from it.  Unlike other thermos mugs I used during my years in the Army, you don't have to make sure you aim a spout towards your mouth.  Just pop the button in the centre of the lid (and it does sometimes make a popping sound!) and drink with no possibility of spillages. It holds about a mug and half worth of coffee and it really is leak proof - put it in your pocket or rucksack without risk of leakages.  I used it a couple of times this weekend when out and about walking in the New Forest and on both days my coffee remained hot beyond the advertised four hours. It also keeps cold drinks cold. The quick press opening unscrews completely from the lid allowing it to be cleaned properly and the textured silcone sleeve ensures that it's easy to grip and not too hot to handle.  I've not tried it yet but I reckon if you took this into a coffee shop they'd fill it with a medium sized hot drink. All in all, I'm really pleased with this and it will be getting plenty of use.

I have tried lots and lots of travel mugs and usually leave them at the back of the cupboard because they just don't work. They leak and dont't keep my drink warm let alone hot. now I am a coffee snob so really need to take my own coffee with me. I was lucky enough to have the chance to try this Tefal Travel Mug., the outside is an attractive red with a raised design of writing naming different drinks. the top screws into place and has a simple press button in the middle of the lid to open and close so you can drink out of it. Once the liquid is in it , well it just doesn't leak , I tipped it upside down just to check and not a drop came out ,when button was pressed to open the liquid came out at a sensible flow and didn't go all over my chin. my coffee was hot. The price £20.00 which on first look does look a bit pricy but if like me you have paid out for several travel mugs only to throw them away then this works out as a bargain, and think how much money you will save by taking your favourite drink with you.

As expected from Tefal, this is a high quality product. This is actually a vacuum thermos device, not just insulated. It's pretty heavy duty (and quite heavy) and bear in mind it is quite a large size (think medium sized bottle of mineral water rather than coffee cup) if you want to squeeze it into a rucksack, handbag or briefcase. Tolerances are superb and the closure mechanism is reassuring. The whole thing can be taken apart for cleaning by hand or dishwasher. It fits a cycle bottle cage quite well.It can be used to keep cold drinks cold but I just initially tried it with hot coffee on a mild (10 degrees) January day. Sintering (warming the flask with hot water first) and pouring in hot coffee, using a thermometer, I found that after two hours, the temperature had fallen by 15 degrees C but it was still pleasantly warm. Of course, on a very cold day, with the temperature gradient being higher, I'd expect it to cool more quickly. Highly recommended - if you can deal with its bulk.

This is a compact, mug-style vacuum flask with 0.36l capacity. It's made by Tefal, so the quality is high, with the flask retaining the temperature of warm drinks for about four hours, and cold drinks for about eight hours. The black lid is easy to screw on and off, and pops open to allow the drink to be poured. There is no leakage when the lid is closed, and the flask is comfortable to hold in terms of both size and temperature, thanks to a red rubber grip the surrounds the mug. My only criticism is the printing of "coffee" and other coffee-related words on this red grip, which is done in a dated font and makes the product look a bit cheap, which it isn't. The words are embossed to allow easy grippage, but a plain grip would have looked much better.Function-wise, this product is great (and dishwasher safe), but I've only given it four stars because of the design on the grip.

This is a high quality product and does all it says in it's write up - however, possibly for day-to-day use it's a bit overkill. I was just trying to be slightly more 'green' by eliminating paper cup use with my morning coffee. I'll keep hold of it for road trips perhaps, where it'd be useful to sustain the temperature for slightly longer - but when I buy coffee of a morning it doesn't last THAT long post purchase to need such high levels of insulation. Also, it doesn't hold a 'large' coffee just a regular measure (at Costa) - which, for the physical size of the cup, I found slightly unbelievable - but that should give you some indication of the thickness of the insulation. For day-to-day purposes, maybe go for something slightly simpler - this is like a full on flask (albeit in a slightly more modern shape.)

This is quite simply, excellent.Easy to use and operate, the top screws off so you can fill up the mug with your beverage. If you follow the instructions to "pre-warm" with hot water before adding your tea or coffee I've found that your drink does stay hot enough for up to the four hours that it claims. It's got an amazing lid as well that offers a great drinking experience and helps add to the "leak proof" nature of the mug.The outer surface means that you're not burning your hands when it's a hot drink inside too. Also is great at keeping (still) soft/cold drinks, well, cold. Can't quite lay any thoughts on the eight hours level for that as I can never leave a drink that long but certainly agood few hours in it's still very cold).Add in that it's dishwasher safe you you have a great travel mug.

I've tried many travel cups and although this is probably the most expensive one I've bought it has never leaked. I have closed it and chucked it in my bag, confident that all is well.It is also the heaviest travel mug I have although easy to hold I occasionally struggle to unscrew the lid.It is easy to take clean with the lid separating into 2 and the base. I usually hand wash, but every so often I pop it in the dishwasher.I have dropped this mug several times...it hits the floor with a hefty thud but it still intact and working.I will be buying this mug next time I need another one as I have wasted so much money on others that leak...the common problem I seem to have is other mugs start leaking between the lid and base when I drink from them,so I end up wearing my drink.

I’ve tried loads of these, but this Tefal version is just awesome! It’s just so well built. It has a strong stainless steel outer shell, a rubberised grip that feels great in the hand, an excellent watertite seal, a pop top sip rim and even a non slip base. Not only that, but the hot drink stays hot inside for ages. I’ve had a drink too hot to drink hours after it was made. It’s thermal performance is much better than a couple of stainless thermos flasks I own, it is seriously impressive. It’s also easy to clean and has a removable rubber type washer for extra security.I can’t recommend this travel mug highly enough, it’s way out in front of anything like it that I’ve ever used before.Love it.
