I dithered quite a bit before buying this cup. It's one of the more expensive available, but in the end I felt willing to pay for something that is well designed and will be a pleasure to use over and over again. I am not disappointed. The cup looks good and is very nice to hold in the hand. If you use it to buy take away coffees, the glass cup feels nice and warm and is not too hot to hold. The cork provides insulation if you want it, but I don't find the fact that the cork band is quite slim a problem. It's also nice to think that in small way I am supporting the cork industry (cork forests support a lot of biodiversity). I wash my cup by hand and the cork feels very robust under this kind of wear. It's not suitable for a dishwasher. The silicone cap fits tightly so it feels secure. I have noticed that coffee shops want me to take the cap off for them. Once full, I tend to swivel the light grey stopper over the drinking hole to prevent spillage. The manufacturers don't recommend this as they say sealing a hot drink like this can cause a build up of pressure. I can see their point, but my coffees are not so very hot and I only do it for very short periods when I am on the go. I like the fact that the cup wont leak, so I can run for a bus or whatever.Once I've finished my coffee I use the light grey stopper to cover the drinking hole again which stops any dregs leaking into my bag and keeps the drinking hole clean. It all works perfectly and I can't imagine wanting to use a disposable cup again. The only very slight issue I've encountered is that when I used the cup for a rooibosh tea the other day, there was a slight taste of coffee about it. I'm not really bothered, but perhaps some might be. I thought I had cleaned it well, but nevertheless the silicone lid seems to pick up strong flavours a bit.

I received this a year ago as a gift and continue to use it daily, even though some small faults are appearing.Within around 3 weeks, the cork band slipped, as if the binding glue had melted from the heat. I simply pushed it up in place with perhaps a small twist and it reset -- and didn't give me any similar issues for another couple of months, which i repaired with the same fix.Around 5 months of daily use, I noticed that the seal on the lid wasn't quite as firm as at the start when a small drip of scalding hot coffee hit my thumb while taking a sip. I put this down to user error thinking some coffee grinds had possibly broken the seal, and have made sure that no such granuals are anywhere near the rim since, and the problem seemed to resolve itself for a time.At 8 months I realised that it wasn't my cleaning process or unseen grinds that was causing the issue, the seal now seems to be worn on the lid; no longer containing the liquid when sipping.Problem is, I really like this little mug so I've continued to use it every morning because it's pretty decent at retaining heat and it's less likely to spill everything if i happen to knock it over (which I have done once, with only a small drop escaping, whereas a normal mug would have emptied it's contents all across my desk)... so I wrap a bit of Kitchen Roll round the rim and let it soak up the now inevitable drips.A year on, I'm tired of the drips. But am considering purchasing another model hence me coming here to write a review.

Arrived in good quality box so it's original (not a knock off). The cup is very stylish and holds about as much as a regular sized mug. It's ideal to use in the office instead of using disposable ones and the cork keeps the heat off your hands. You should know before buying this that it's not to keep your coffee hot (cools down about as quick as regular disposables with a lid but it does the job of replacing disposable ones. The material is glass, so obviously it's not some super re-enforced glass so care is needed, but sturdier than cheaper alternatives... you pay for what you get here. There are the long play version of keepcups if you want something more durable but that will cost more like most of the tougher glasses.Overall very happy with my purchase, looks real nice with latte in it. I would consider also getting a long play one for the insulated aspect.. that would be more of a travel cup than this one, but great for moving around the office.

This cup is a pleasure to use, it looks lovely. It is heavier than other travel cups I've had but it is easy to clean and does not get stained by tea or hot chocolate, the glass does not start to smell after a while the way some plastic or metal travel cups do, but I think I may need to replace the lid eventually as that sometimes smells of Earl Grey or hot chocolate after I've washed it (by hand, I'm not sure how it would be after a run in the dish washer). I find that paper disposable cups used in coffee shops taint the flavour of tea due to the plastic coating they have inside, the glass takes that problem away and also means less cups are thrown away after only one use, which has always bothered me due to how wasteful it is. I would highly recommend this cup, it takes a bit more effort to carry around but it is much nicer than using disposables.

Once I had realised that I was using a significant amount of disposable drink ware in the office, which is incredibly wasteful, I knew it was time to change my ways and become more sustainable. The keep cup is a simple concept carried out very well. The cup is a thick walled tempered glass affair, with detachable lid and support ring. In this case, the ring is cork and the lid is black ABS type plastic. The lid completely dismantles for easy washing, and the cork ring is comfortable to hold and stops the heat from reaching your fingers. My only fear is that the cork may not be particularly long lasting. I know it will patina, which will look nice, however I fear for it falling apart before then. This is the risk you take however buying this specific design, so can't knock a star for that!

I ordered it in the colour “press” and received it in the colour “nitro” so that didn’t impress me very much, but it’s only a colour at the end of the day.I love this mug, I make my coffee in the morning in it, drink it in the car on the way to work, use it at work. Sometimes I walk the dog with a coffee. I like that it doesn’t affect the flavour the way that plastic mugs do and it’s portable, and the parts are replaceable.I also got really excited about the Pantone references for the lid (I’m a graphic designer) so was really excited about getting it in Pantone Black 7 which is one of my favourite pantones, but obviously I didn’t get to geek out in the end because stupid amazon just sent me the lid in K instead.

I bought this item as I regularly buy coffee out and I thought I'd do my bit to save the environment + all high-street coffee shops give some sort of discount for using your own cup. It's very well designed, doesn't spill at all, isn't a fake like some people on here have mentioned, and fits a good amount of coffee/tea in it.There's just one problem with this cup I think - it doesn't keep the drink very hot at all, so you really have to drink it as soon as you get your coffee/tea. I drink my coffee black and even then the heat dissipates within minutes. I thought it would keep my drink warm for a lot longer than this but I guess this isn't a major issue.Maybe the plastic versions keep the liquid hotter for longer?

To my shame I'm such a regular at our local coffee shop that when I forget to hand this gem over they ask after it! At least I don't have to feel quite so guilty, what with not throwing so many cups into landfill. My initial concern was that the lid would taste plasticky, it doesn't - I prefer it to take away cups. The lid always seems to throw the baristas as it doesn't have a 'click' mechanism, however, I've been using for a couple of months now and have never had a problem. I actually bought two (one for the other half) and we both love them! Fits nicely in a handbag too and has a close feature so the dregs don't ruin your purse.

Great cup, looks premium and ‘cool’. I have used this for several months taking coffee with me on my commute to work or getting coffee to-go from coffee shops without needing to get a cardboard cup. Be warned though, this cup isn’t designed to keep your coffee warm for longer than any normal cup, and the glass gets hot so you need to hold it by the cork. The lid is easy to drink from and close, it won’t spill on a bus ride etc, but it wouldn’t stay on if tipped upside down so this cup isn’t suitable to placed in a bag when full. I enjoy drinking from this cup, beats a plastic or cardboard coffee cup all day long.

I was a bit worried due to some other reviews but my cup is great: no plastic smell from the lid - well no smell at all, and the cup feels solid and isn't too hot to hold even with boiling water inside. It's a good size (it's perfect for Costa primo or Starbucks tall hot drinks) and as it's glass, it's great for switching between coffee and other beverages, which is what turned me off other plastic and bamboo alternatives in the past. Plus it looks great! I've been using it for 3 months now and it's still going strong with almost daily use. Super chuffed with my little cup!

It's rather disconcerting how perfect this cup is. It's simply designed and really does exactly what I need it to do:-it holds coffee without spilling any (the lid remains just as effective as ever after c.6 months of use)-it holds a decent amount of heat-the cork band ensures that the above heat holding doesn't leave me with burning hands-it looks rather attractive-and most importantly it helps to stop the appalling waste due to single use cups...#noexcuseforsingleuse...Get it. It won't change your life but it will improve it, and help the planet (a little)!

I highly recommend this product. As someone who works in a cafe and consumes around 2/3 cups of takeaway coffee a day, this is helping the environment in that small way. I couldn't be happier! It feels good to drink out of something well made, and baristas love to make drinks in it. It is about the same as a Starbucks "tall" size drink. I have seen many reusable cups in my job, you want to drink out of something that feels good. This is nice to drink out of and hold, I have been using it everyday, and I take it to work! :) it gets a lot of compliments

Miraculously, the glass has not broken after months of use, in spite of a daily routine of being thrown into my backpack when empty and then carried all over the London underground. My only quibble is that a bit of plasticky flavour that comes off of the plastic cap when you drink and it's extra noticeable when you drink tea, so I can't quite give it 5 stars. That said, I still think it's one of the best travel cups out there. I'm complimented on this all the time and have given these as gifts to friends who love them just as much.

My first review of this was 3 stars, but I now own two and I think it is true to say "I like it". I am using the silicone band version for the car (it fits better in the cup holder), and the cork version for work. I am not super impressed with the cork or silicone band in that it is quite narrow, but if it was wider the cup would not be as aesthetic. I am getting on ok with the lids, I am being very careful with the rotating bit, but they are not leaking (yet).I find this medium size ok for a 2/3-shot short americano or latte.

2.7.2017

When I received the KeepCup, I thought it was a bit flimsy with how the lid went on. In fact, the lid didn't attach well and popped out at the slightest pressure. I gave it a shot though and now the lid seems to have settled in so that's not an issue anymore. I would give the keep cup 5 stars if it wasn't for the cork band. It's durable and comfortable but a little too thin which leads me to having to grab the cup daintily or risk burning my fingers on the glass. It's very microwave safe if you remove the lid and the cork too.
