This is a great coffee cup, Its visually appealing and has an interesting design in which the entire lid has a push-down function. you press the lid down and you can drink from any angle of the cup. supposedly this is so you can smell the coffee which improves the drinking taste and experience but I found that all I can smell is the plastic lid as my nose is smushed against it as I sip on my caffienated concoction. The cup is made from recycled plastics and has a variety of sizes and colour options. I personally found the cream and gren colour option to be the nicest looking. upon first use it feels great, nice and smooth like normal plastic but after some usage i found that it started to 'peel'it doesnt feel as smooth as it once did but overall did not affect the experience or insulation. I suppose this sort of thing just happens with recycled plastics and is overal a very neglible issue. The insulation is fine. You wont get crazy '12 hour insulation' like others would offer. this is due to the materials used I believe. However, I did find that my coffee would stay hot for a little over an hour, reaching a nice drinking temperature after about 30-40 minutes and remaining at that temperature for a long while afterwards. It may not handle boiling temperatures very well but it more than does its job at securing your drink at a drinkable temperature for a long time.It should also be noted that when there is a hot drink inside it, the cup feels warm to the touch, a lovely hand warmer and it never feels uncomfortable to hold. For referrence I am a student and would spend many late hours in the library (Pre-Pandemic times). I would often go to the cafe, get a coffee, drink it over the course of a few hours and get some more. Not once did it get cold. For the best results, I suggest having a large thermos to store your coffee in and pouring it into this cup when you want to drink it. It avoids burning your mouth drinking directly from the thermos and it avoids long waits for it to reach a drinkable temperature. Plus it also keeps the thermos hotter for longer as only the amount you want to drink gets cooled down rather than all 4 litres (give or take a few litres, I dont judge) of coffee you store in it.Overall, a great, sustainable coffee cup but don't expect it to keep your drink hot for a long time.

My first thoughts while peering into to the yellow insides of this rCup was that it looked like it wouldn’t hold enough liquid and this worried me a little. I loved the design and the look of the cup itself and the fact that you could drink it from any angle. I am pleased to inform you that the rCup will take a small coffee from Costa which was fine by me as this is what I wanted it for. The rCup is also nice to hold and looks pretty good to that it gets comments from others.Great five stars you might think, well hold on a little while I go over some other points. Some people have mentioned about the open and close mechanism,I agree that it’s strange to use and up which looks open is locked and vice versa can be a little confusing but once you have played around with it there is a clear visual aid when looking at it so you will quickly know when it’s open. Cleaning isn’t a big issue either, although you can’t get into the in’s and out’s of the mechanism I can still get a sponge in and clean it to a acceptable standard and if you leave the lid open water can pass through to soak. There is one issue that I have noticed and that is with the layer between the inside and the outer wall. Not where the lid comes off but just a fraction below is another visible line where you can see the recycled overlay. I have already noticed that water can get inside here and when there is a hot drink inside the water starts to bubble out. Now at present it isn’t much water but if this gets worse I can see it being frustrating. This is the only issue I have and it losses a star. The rCup is a great idea and the start of recycled cups, the whole cup isn’t made from recycled plastic at the moment but the company has made a great start and in time will hopefully improve this cup. The rCup doesn’t leak no matter how much I chuck it around but the lid can be an issue to press down to open after a hot drink has been placed inside forcing you to take the lid off and put it back on just so the pressure has exited the cup itself. There is a line to fill to but this doesn’t stop this issue. The rCup will keep my drink hot for a while but isn’t a patch on some of the stainless steel versions you can purchase however for what it holds it’s perfect for me and the time it takes me to finish.

Great purchase and very happy with the product. I use it every day on my commute as it fits in my bike's bottle holder, which is very useful. I've never experienced any leakage, and it has the most useful/natural open & closing mechanism I've used.If you're planning on using it at the usual high street vendors - I would recommend this larger size over the smaller version (which I also have). Most 'regular' size lattes etc just about fit in this one (although I still have to drink a bit in order to screw the lid on securely). The external recycled material is quite thick, so in reality, it's a bit smaller than it's physical size would suggest. It's not a massive problem as I tend to want to drink a bit before setting off. However, due to the design of the opening/closing top mechanism - when the mug is full, you can't actually 'open' the lid as it needs to 'push' down into the drink - so, if it's too full it can't move. Its ability to retain heat is slightly disappointing, but not overly so. I would question it's advertised "1hr 20mins" claim (but I guess it depends on each persons' definition of 'warm' - it definitely won't be 'hot'). The 20/30 mins between getting the drink and getting to the office are plenty good for me - but it's not a replacement for a decent vacuum thermal mug for more extended periods (not that it claims to be that). In spite of this - I love the reusability factor, the sealability of the lid is solid, and some high-street vendors give you a discount if you provide your own cup (50p saving on some). If I ever need a replacement, I would go for the rCup again - but in the lighter colour next time (personal preference).

When I first saw this cup, which was received as a present, I thought it was just another plastic cup. I am extremely fussy about drinks tasting peculiar in plastic. As I need to use a lidded cup when working in school, I thought I’d use it to try it out anyway. Well, I was really surprised. I absolutely hate drinking out of plastic cups because of the taste, especially with hot drinks, but this was excellent. I tried coffee first and this was absolutely fine. It stayed hot for at least 30 minutes, enabling me to take to work and drink on arrival. The press top feature is excellent. When sealed you can turn it upside down and shake it without leaks. Press the button and just drink as a normal cup.No sipping from a small hole. It says it’s dishwasher safe, but the reason I wouldn’t do this is because at the moment I’ve been using the glass ‘keep cup’ with a plastic lid (I found it the best for not tasting of plastic so far, but glass a bit impracticable for trips out). If it’s washed in the dishwasher, the plastic lid absorbs the taste of dishwasher tablets, making it very unpleasant to use. With the rcup, the button on the lid can be popped off for extra cleaning, so I just wash in mild soapy water. I have also tried tea and that’s absolutely fine too. Just shake the lid after washing to remove any excess water before use. Overall I am extremely impressed with this cup and am looking to buy another to keep at work. I would highly recommend this cup.

I fully support reusable cups/getting rid of this one-use-waste in todays throwaway culture, but I couldn't gel with this cup. It wasn't convenient to take with me on commutes, when you first make a drink you have to leave the cup open because of the steam in which, your drink then cools and it doesn't stay warm on the journey... so you just end up with a pretty luke warm drink and the trouble of carrying it carefully as its open (if you make your drinks just before you leave). If I was in an office and wanted a reusable cup, then perhaps I'd go for this one if I was just walking to a coffee place and bringing it back to work or having lunch straight away...but this isn't really a commuters cup or that convenient. My partner gets the lid thing on and off fairly easily, but I struggle with it (perhaps that reflects my ability rather than the cups convenience). It was quite annoying, as whilst they were away I couldn't clean the cup properly and then I managed to get it off and I couldn't get it back on for three days. The cup doesn't stain, and the blue is a lovely colour. I'm just not convinced on this product (although i've heard many many people say they are).

I love this cup. It's the right size for most 'regular' takeaway hot drinks. It is very secure and won't leak at all in the closed position. Opening it is easy with just a quick push down on the lid (and again to close it back up). You can drink from any part of the edge when open, not just a small gap like in most takeaway lids. It isn't thermal, so it won't keep drinks hot for hours, but it is better than just a normal cup and you can still warm your hands on it on a cold day. Cleaning it is easy, though you have to prize the lid off the top button to be able to rinse it thoroughly (tip: keep the lid unscrewed when you pop the lid back on).The cup comes in a variety of cool colours and I found one I liked. It has now earnt its place in my rucksack to be taken everywhere I go, replacing disposable cups wherever I purchase a hot drink and thus being very eco-friendly. It will fit nicely in most cupholders in a car and its locking mechanism means you won't have spillages and you can even store it in a handbag or whatever.Buy it now, take it with you wherever you go and improve your hot beverage situation wherever you are.

I wanted a cup that wouldn't spill in my bag but was easy to drink from in the car. I fill it at home, pop in upright in my bag to transport to car (i'm usually carrying a baby and many many bags so hands free/non spill is essential) and then sip on my commute. This is ideal as you can sip from anywhere along the top rather than have a spout. The design means it doesn't spill out of the top going over speed bumps even when open - my old travel cups would slosh liquid out of the little hole when full.Main issues are the seal occasionally pops when you press the lid which is faffy to put back on but ok once you have the knack and it does retain smells so I wouldn't use this for tea as after the first use it smelt of coffee even after a thorough washing. You can pop the top of the lid off to wash it although I only do this now and then.Main pros are the 360 drinking surface and that it is genuinely non spill so you can store it in your bag if needs be with confidence it won't leak.It doesn't retain temperature so you need to drink the coffee reasonably soon after making it but that is what I wanted.

I bought this because I lost the lid from the reusable cup I bought from Pret. Pret won't sell / give spare lids so rather than spend another tenner on another Pret cup I bought this.Things to note 1: I'm not convinced the whole thing is "made from recycled cups" - the main body and lid appear to be standard plastics but there's an outer "sleeve" that is made from recycled material. The sleeve is fully bonded to the cup - it doesn't detach.Things to note 2: This isn't (nor does it claim to be) a thermal / vacuum flask. It won't keep your Joe hot all day but it's definitely sufficient to keep it warm for a commute-journey.The lid is very good - seals tightly, solid mechanism to click open and allow you to drink from any side without removing the lid.Goes in the dishwasher (tip: clean the lid in the "clicked-open" position to avoid it retaining water) and - so far - doesn't retain coffee-smells after cleaning. Nor does it impart a plasticky flavour onto the hot drink.A pit pricy for what it is, but solid enough to pay for itself many times over in coffee-shop discounts.Recommended

This is my second R-Cup. I dropped the first and the mechanism inside smashed. It’s such a brilliant idea. I am always on the move and driving for work so a decent cup like this is a must. One problem though with every cup I had was that they all leaked. The only none leak vessel seemed to be thermos flasks which is no good for when you’re driving. This cup is a game changer. It WORKS. It is leak proof. Make sure you don’t overfill the cup, make sure there’s no liquid in the lid. And it is leak proof! I can put this in my pocket, bag, whatever and it doesn’t leak. I absolutely love it.To drink from it, just press the lid down. To close it, press it up again.I did take off one star for this cup, because I find that it doesn’t insulate your drink at all. It cools down at normal speed, it’s not like a thermos cup. This doesn’t matter so much to me as I value the leak proof quality over anything else but I know that others value a very hot drink over the cup being leak proof.

I have spent years trying to find a good travel mug. Every time I get one there is always something that makes me fall out of love with it quite quick, be it a screw top that ends up getting in the way but is completely leak proof or a traditional one which does a great job but can’t be put in a bag without being cleaned out and dried first. This mug is exactly what I have wanted. It is completely leak proof and You can drink from it from 360 degrees. Yes it is not a thermal mug so the contents will go cold over time but if you leave a coffee or tea for a long time in a thermal mug the taste changes and goes “off” so thy at is not a problem for me.I have been using mine for 3 weeks and had all my coffee to and at work from it over that time and love it, I can drink from it with no issue of finding the hole and I keep it in my bag, occasionally with some coffee I have not finished, and it has not leaked once.I would recommend to anyone!

Originally bought as I needed a cup to make hot drinks safe round 2yr old. But I’t believe how good it is. Today he actually picked it up, full of hot tea and dropped it!! Not only was he completely safe, as the outside is very well insulated, not a single drop was spilt! I imagine its not good for the life of the cup, but amazing product for what the purpose. Doesn’t keep drinks warm forever but lasts the 30 mins to get to work, then ready to drink. Lid is so easy to open/close with one hand, perfect for car or when pushing the push chair. Although two year old has now figured it out too.Yes its not 100% recycled but this is for a very good reason. And its still better than many, and is of course reusable. I loved this so much I bought one for hubby, and for my parents who have little guy during day lol. I then saw a costa version about the same price (same company) so bought a second one for work, worth the price.

I am a student who has been using this product for the past week, mainly for tea.The lid is screw top, which is excellent at preventing leaks and the pop top has been effective so far. Once closed, I have found that, even when tipping it essentially upside down while walking with it in hand, there are no leaks or spills. The cup definitely keeps drinks warm for a longer period of time-- my tea was still a good drinking temperature after three hours-- but I would note that keeping the pop top 'open' means the drink loses heat much quicker (may be obvious but i thought i'd mention). As some others have mentioned, while the pop top offers the benefit of 360 degree drinking,it's hard to tell at first glance whether the cup is open or closed, there is mark which aligns with the top when it is 'open' and there is an audible different in the click the cup makes when either opening or closing.

This is a really nice product. It looks good and it does not leak. I have seen some pictures on other reviews where the surface of the cup gets little scruffy and I saw this on a cup my colleague has been using for about a year but I don't think it's a big deal.Another point was the inability to see when the cup is opened or closed. True, it's not that visible but by touching the cap, you can tell because when it's opened it is more wobly so again, not a big deal.It does not keep the beverage hot for a very long time but that is exactly what I was after. I had a thermo-cup before and I had to wait for hours before I could start drinking it and since I use it mainly in an office environment, that didn't work for me so this is fine but I wouldn't take it to mountains for example and expect it to keep my drink hot for ages.Happy with the purchase overall.

I bought this as I was really excited to be able to drink this from any angle - good for if I'm driving and need to just grab and go. It's well sealed and leak-proof.It is a bit difficult to clean the lid, even if you pull off the disc as there are bits that you can't really get to with a sponge. Instructions do say you can remove the disc to clean the lid, but I've noticed that when I popped it back on, it has felt looser than before. Still leak-proof though, so not a huge issue. My hands might just be a bit sensitive, but I feel like the cup still gets quite hot, not enough to drop but enough to be a bit uncomfortable. Despite this, I'd say that hot drinks cool (not ice cold) within about half an hour,so it keeps things as warm as the usual takeaway cups from cafes.Overall I do like it though, and would recommend if you don't mind the cons.

What a lovely tasting cup, in all my years of cup tasting from bone china, IKEA and my partner's naval this cup has THE best flavour (why does amazon want a flavour rating?)Pros -101% leakproof. I did a meringue test scolding water over my head all is well in the houseI get to be slightly smug that my cup is helping the environment, unlike single use cups, do you know how expensive throwing IKEA cups away is?!I see a good warrant but I can't seem to figure out how to acquire or see how to use this for future reference? Help? Probably didn't read the information above.Cons -The colours, I settled for black and mustard (not Norwiches version of black and decker)But I looked at getting the smaller cup and the colour aren't vibrant and in your face.I want a bright orange cup.Other than that absolutely chuffed with my purchase.
