I am very impressed with this travel mug. I would be inclined to call it a thermos flask, as that is how it performs in comparison to every travel mug I have ever used. It is a sturdy build with an excellent quality rubber patterned grip of various colours. I have the red one. Before taking it out anywhere, I put it through some rigorous testing to check for leaks.Firstly with cold water and then with boiling water, as that tends to expand things which could potentially cause a leak. Despite shaking, tilting, spinning round and turning it on its head to shake, there was not a drop of a leak. I then depressed the button to open and then closed it again and that is when the leak occurred on the next round of testing. It was a trickle that poured out, but still enough boiling water to create a small burn if contacting the skin. Subsequent attempts to get it to leak, though, failed. It became closed solid. So now, before I go anywhere with it, I open and close the lid, give it a shake over the sink and then I am good to go. That is the one downside that I can find with the mug.In terms of being like a thermos flask, this mug kept the contents boiling hot after 6 hours. Once I started drinking it slowly over a period of an hour, the coffee was still extremely hot and I could only take sips rather than gulps. This is exceptional thermos capability for a mug. I have a long distance to travel soon and will be delighted to take this with me on the journey and know that if I leave it for hours, it will still be piping hot when I want a coffee. It is stiff to screw on and off, even when cold, but I am happy with this, as I am sure it contributes to the leak-proof factor. The button to depress is sturdy and makes a significant clicking noise; it has a different tone when pressing down from when pressing up, but I can see clearly when it is pressed down.Excellent mug, excellent build quality, feels superior and looks fab!

Essentially this is a vacuum flask you can drink from directly. As a first test, I boiled the kettle and poured in some freshly boiled water; after 5 hours, it was still scaldingly hot to the touch, and I gave it a few experimental tips upside down too - it didn't leak, although you may get a couple of drops caught around the seams. The plastic cap got warm to the touch, which is where the heat is mostly lost, but the rest of the frame was room-temperature to the touch, indicating a good vacuum seal inside the body of it. You can either unscrew it completely and use like a mug or glass, or press a button in the centre of the lid which will allow the contents to tip into the inside of the plastic neck in any direction - there's no specific "spout" direction. It's all dishwasher safe, and the spout & lid can be disassembled for cleaning. It's quite large, with a rubberised grip, but it holds half a litre, which is a good couple of cup's worth of tea/coffee whatever. You're not supposed to use carbonated liquids with it - I would guess Tefal don't want pressure building up inside the vessel - but I have and it's fine provided you leave the button depressed which allows any bubbles to dissipate into the air. I did find it a little difficult to screw the lid on - the screw threads were a bit overly stiff to thread into each other, but I'd rather have a tight seal than not, I suppose. In all, I quite like it, although I think £25 is a little on the steep side here. It also wasn't supplied packaged in anything at all, which means it'll take some scrubbing to get the labels off it completely. I've taken to using it at home and having a cold drink constantly to hand - drop in some ice, and it'll stay cool for hours.

I spent too much time on deciding which travel mug to buy and eventually chose this one despite there not being too many reviews. I’m glad to say my time wasn’t wasted. I now use this every day when I go to work. What’s good about it is it’s size, you get about 2 regular sized cups of coffee, the container is well insulated so your drink will stay hot. What’s especially good is how the liquid comes out from the edge of the flask (not the middle) meaning drinking out of it is like drinking out of a normal cup. This means you won’t have to tilt your head back or tilt the flask towards the ceiling even when there is only a little bit left.It is leak proof but be aware if you drink from it then press the button to seal it right away not all the liquid will drain back into flask on time. This might make it look like there is leak but it’s actually your fault if this happens. Just a word of warning, you don’t need to screw the button cap on too tightly as it plays no part in keeping the liquid sealed. If you do tighten it too much it can be really hard to take off again but is possible, it just requires all your strength. If you like you can remove the top and it’s easy to drink out of like a normal cup. Your drink won’t have that horrible tasteless plastic flavour you get from some flasks when you use this, just be careful not to burn your tongue as it will surprise you how long it can keep liquids hot, always sip from it.Overall I would highly recommend this travel mug and can’t really see how anyone would not be happy with it. As for ideas on improvements, I would like to see one of these with a biscuit dipper slot on it.

Love this mug! Holds a good amount of tea, realistically 1.5-2 mugs. It’s hot! So long as you keep the opening button shut, I’ve left it open recently and of course the heat escaped, but that’s my mistake. Seriously, it stays hot through the working day. I make it at 7am and I still have hot tea (if any left) by 2/3pm. If you turn it upside down there are no leaks! Occasionally however there is the odd tiny dribble caught in the lid. It seems to be if I didn’t hold the mug upright i.e. it’s still tipped towards my mouth when I press the button to close it. So just make sure it’s upright before closing.I like that you don’t have a specific drinking point around the rim.Just press the button in the middle grab and drink. The non slip hand hold around the middle makes it feel secure in your hand and it has the same non slip material on the base. It feels safer to use because of this. I bought the 500ml size and love it but would also like more colours to choose between. No this is being picky.. my husband has one too and loves it but the two components of lid are the same colour as his but he has coffee in his. Coffee flavour lingers in this type of product and this mug is no different. We haven’t mixed them up washing just yet but if there was some way of matching the right lids to the coloured canister part it would be perfect!Fantastic product. I was happy to buy this three times because of the ease of cleaning- dishwasher! Safe to use- rubber hold and base. Does not leak! Keeps it hot! A great buy.

This Tefal travel thermos is very nice. The black and red design is eye-catching. The main body (in red) is wrapped in a rubber sleeve with the words 'grande' and 'xxl' imprinted all over it - it's good if you're using it in place of disposable coffee cups for your coffee-shop coffee so you'll never get the size wrong or forget it! The writing also gives it a little extra texture for grip. The top is screw-on and you open the drinking edge by pushing a button in the middle, which is a neat little mechanism. It doesn't leak HOWEVER I did not test it by fully inverting it (i.e. upside down), only by tilting to the screw-top edge.Primed with hot water first, it kept my drink hot for about 5-6 hours before it started cooling,so I'd say it lives up to its promise. It's too cold right now for me to try to keep my drink cold, but I believe it! The size is very generous and I actually think it's far better for taking hot drinks to work from home (save me a bit of money!), and I can get two standard cupfuls out of it that way.Its base is brushed steel. I had an accident and dropped the flask on a tile floor and it left a scratchy dent on the metal. To be sure, my floor is very unforgiving, but I would have expected it to be a little harder - dent yes, scratch no. Nevertheless, it doesn't affect the function, but it is unfortunate!

I have gone through lots of travel mugs that claim they are leakproof which some have been but have had other issues. I have had this mug for just a week BUT (a big but) this has to be the best one. It’s 500ml in size which is the biggest travel mug I have ever had (which I like) the outer middle put off the mug is hand friendly, I don’t burn my hand holding it however long. The inside of the mug feels more like a flask. The lid is screw on so I know it won’t accidentally come off. There is a button in the middle of the kid (company logo o. It) which is what controls the drinking bit. I found it easier to put the lid on by having the button down, ( click once it stays down / open) then screw lid on (click button again and it pops back / closed) I would advise to turn the mug over by the sink to see if any surplus liquid comes out ( I do this every time I fill the mug) I have taken it to work in my bag and it does not LEAK. I have even bought another one for my parent as they liked mine. It is easy to wash and dry. Even though the mug is 500mls it was packed well in a big box so it would not get damaged via post. The delivery was quick also. I would definitely recommend this to everyone it does as the description states. So don’t hesitate get one now as they could be all gone in the future

Very comfortable to drink from, either through lid or with the lid removed as both have a narrow edge where your lips touch the cup. Great grip material outside making it very easy to hold and lightweight. 100% leak proof as Tefal say - I regularly walk along with a full cup on it's side as it is easier to carry a tube shaped thing on it's side. Keeps hot drinks hot for at least 4 hours, this still surprises me. The internal size - 500ml is great for most, if not all coffee shop large sizes as these are routinely between 400 and 470 ml (hint ask your coffee shop or check their website for drink sizes before purchase as there is a smaller model). Splits into three for easy washing (lid is two parts)and goes in dishwasher. Fits into a standard bicycle drink holder too - look I'm trying to be more green and now have an e-bike (electric pedal cycle).Faults: no handle or carry strap hole that i would find useful to carry on the outside of a bag when empty, and it is tall so does not easily fit in a coat pocket. But it's large and tall and if you want shorter then Tefal make a smaller version - you can't have everything. Had mine for 5 months, looks like it will last forever as it is strong and looks like it would bounce or dent if I drop it rather than break. Would happily recommend.

This is a large travel mug - it has a capacity of half a litre, so around 2 big cups of tea or coffee. It is insulated - Tefal claim it will keep hot drinks warm for 6 hours and cold drinks cool for 12. The outside is covered in tough rubber, which makes it easy to grip. The cap has a simple press-button design, which is easy to open and close, and rather than a narrow spout to drink from, when the mug is open, liquid comes out from around the sides of the cap into the receptacle at the top, so you don't need to line it up to drink from it; a nice feature. The cap unscrews for cleaning, which is also reassuring. The mug claims to be leak proof when shut, so there is no need to keep it the right way up,and the instructions suggest you can throw it into a bag when full without risk of leakage - I'm not sure I would trust this 100%, but it does suggest Tefal have done a reasonable job of making it waterproof! The top is quite a tight fit to screw on - this is presumably part of the leak-proofing, but it does make it a little awkward to get the lid on when it is full of hot liquid. But other than that, not much to fault here - a good quality large mug that feels like it will last for years. Recommended.

The first thing to say about this is how large it is. The size of a small thermos flask. Definitely something to keep you going on a long journey, working out of an office or on a long walk. You get half a litre of liquid out of it. So maybe not the thing for your London commute and early morning coffee. The good thingsHaving said that its brilliant at keeping liquids hot for a very long time. (Pour hot water in before use and then rinse if you want extra heat)The body is nicely squidgy so it is easy to grab and does not slip. For me it was totally drip proof. Just make sure you depress and repress the button in the top of the black lid to drink or lock the liquid in.The sort of spout/cup you drink from is excellent in that you do not have to position it one way round.Fantastic if you are driving.Because there is no handle it fits in the drinks holder slot. All I need now is a smaller one for the office commute.

I bought this for taking my morning coffee to work and am happy with it. Good points:- good capacity- fits into cupholders- nice to drink from as it feels like a real cup instead of the portable cup hole you often get- good grippy outside- easy to clean- leakproof- cheaper than a lot of similar competition- good thermal retention- fits brewers like aeropress and clever dripper on top- good rubberised bottom- button is much lower than the top of the mug so it's very unlikely to be accidentally pressedNegative:- an optional extra cap on top might give me even more confidence that nothing in my bag would accidentally press the open button (nitpicking,I know)- quite tall (but this is unavoidable otherwise it would have to be too wide for cup holders- sometimes when pressing the button to close a couple of drops splash upOverall, very good for the price. Will be buying another for tea.

Stylish looking flask with rubbery textured exterior for good grip. Keeps coffee etc very hot for a good 5-6 hours. You can unscrew the lid completely and use it like a large mug, or press the button in the middle which allows liquid to flow into the top section, which you can then drink out of. Pressing the button again seals the top section. The button lies flush when it is sealed, and slightly dipped when it is open- perhaps not quite dipped enough as you could mistake closed for open if you weren’t careful. It’s completely leakproof so you can chuck it in your bag, and if anything the lid screws on a bit TOO snugly as it takes a bit of effort to screw on and off. This is a minor quibble though. It’s quite expensive at the moment (£25) but I suppose it is a high quality sturdy item that is guaranteed for 5 Years.A useful, well made item for when you are on the go.

A vacuum flask that also acts as a cup, ie you can drink straight from it.Could be awkward if the cup part is full of woodchips though as I need to take it on jobs.Traditional flasks have a lid and a cup inside, clean! The mechanism is a simple click to open or close when you press the central spindle. It unscrews as expected for filling / cleaning and it has a wide enough mouth to get a small brush down there if required.Nice non-slip silicone wrap means you don't drop it, a good thing and a rubber like mat underneath so it doesn't aquaplane off the wet draining board etc.Seems to keep Tea nice and hot, haven't tried it for extreme times yet. Does not leak.My biggest problem is making sure the cup part stays clean!Maybe cling film and a rubber band - oh I am not an office type. The only downside is the enormous price. Not justified for a simple flask.

The 'mug' has an attractive brushed steel and red silicone grip. Having left a hot drink in there for a while the sides were perfectly cool although when I inverted the container there was a small amount of dripping probably because of what was left in the push button lid. This is a little button in the centre which pops in or pops out to allow you to drink from it without screwing off the lid.The whole thing can be dismantled and washed separately but you should probably buy a bottle brush as it's quite narrow inside, my main annoyance was that the unit had stickers on the metal which left a residue when removed.I've tried a few times to scrub this off using a brush and hot soapy water but it was a no go.Aside from that minor annoyance I like it and recommend using it as a reusable mug from your favourite coffee place.

I was looking for a larger travel mug and thought I would give this one a try and I have not been disappointed. I like the mug so much I nicknamed it 'The Torpedo due to its size and appearance.I really really like the so called 360 drinking edge as its just like drinking from a glass or cup vs other travel mugs with small spouts. Its basically means I don't have to look and aim at a spout each time I take a sip from the mug. This mug seals really well, fits nicely in my car cup holder and keeps my drink roasting for hours. In fact I have had to lower the temperature of my drinks if I want to drink them shortly after pouring. The mug is also dishwasher proof which for me is a must.In a nutshell,an awesome travel mug and one I would buy again.

This is a really good travel mug. It's big enough for a substantial cup of coffee or tea, and it keeps hot drinks hot for ages. The lid is leak proof, and you can get to your drink by pressing the button on the top without needing to remove it. (Note to self, make sure you also press the button again to close it when you finish drinking or you will have a spillage caused by user error not a design flaw). The red exterior is suitably grippy and doesn't slip through your fingers, and looks stylish. Another bonus is that the whole thing can be put in the dishwasher, and because it's stainless steel it retains its clean, hygienic finish.
