I have the blue one.I've had it some time and the paint has peeled off most of the bottom. With it stood standing on a surface, one would not be aware of this.I also have an Aladdin version with a natural stainless steel finish and being unpainted, it hasn't suffered in the same way. Apart from that, they are nearly identical.OK, the Lifeventure:It's nice to have a colour code so I don't unscrew my Bovril when I think I'm about to drink a dry Martini, or the coffee I've not started yet when I still have half a mug to go.If starting again, my buying strategy would be to buy a bare metal one first then add coloured ones as needed and don't leave them standing on wet workbenches...Very versatileand compact - far more than the standard insulated travel mug with the plastic handles and sliding plastic idiot-spout. These work more like a "real" cup and if they're properly scrubbed out and rinsed with soda crystals, they don't impart their own flavour to the brew.It fits in a large pocket securely with no fear of spillage and there's no separate flask/cup malarky to juggle while out and about and THAT is the whole point of the design; no pouring out and no dealing with an empty messy cup to stow on or near the flask. Not so good for sharing, but then it's a horse for a course. The lid likes to go on cross-threaded, which is a real pain in the proverbial and continuing to force it on with the strength of ten men will almost certainly lead to leaks, so back it off, spin it back'rds till the thread seats and re-tighten gently. It IS annoying but not a game changer. The Aladdin does the same, btw. and would be identical in review terms apart from the paint job.Untouched, I've certainly had a drinkable coffee five or six hours after making it. Once the seal's broken, it's more of a race so if you like a little sip now and again it may be less satisfying than if you hang on and then go for it further along the path, or up the mountain or into the second half of the ball game or wherever you're taking it. Taking two starts to make more sense if you're at an event, particularly if you're standing - and it's still a lot more convenient than taking a flask.O.K. it's not like drinking out of bone china but it's a lot better than a plastic or paper cup when you're out....lose a star for the cross threading. The flakey paint is probably my fault.

This thermal mug has been serving me well for over half a year now, coming with me to work. I wanted something that would be inexpensive, would retain heat for a long time and could be chucked into a bag without the risk of the liquid spilling over. On all three accounts this mug does extremely well. I've had absolutely no issues with spilling, the mug rolled about in my bag, on the floor and generally withstood harsh treatment. Just make sure you fit the seals correctly after cleaning! It is a simple 'thermos flask' and does not have a spout for drinking, so don't be surprised. This was actually a design that I wanted, as I found the mugs with spouts are either horribly expensive,or very difficult to clean, or both! It requires a bit of fiddling, as you need to screw off the cap and keep it in hand when you're drinking, but I'm ok with that. This mug also provides very easy access for cleaning in comparison, as the seals are removable for washing. For anyone complaining about the strange taste/smell developing - this happens quite often in flasks when you put in beverages containing milk. The best solution I found is to pour some lemon juice into the mug and then follow up with boiling water. Rinse it well and it's as good as new - the smell/taste is gone. I think baking soda would work as well. The paint has chipped off slightly on one side (as it received a bit of a knock), but I think it will serve me well for a long time yet.

This is an extremely convenient mug. There are several reasons why I really like it:- It is not big, so it just disappears in your bag.- It's just large enough for a large cup of coffee.- It actually retains the temperature for quite a while. I haven't tried 6-7 hours that are quoted (who'd want to wait that long to drink their coffee anyway), but it's completely fine for 2-3 I generally use it for. There are two things to keep in mind, and one of them is the reason why this is not a 5* product.- you need to screw the top off to drink, it's not like those competing products where you can drink right away (but they don't keep the temperature that long)- the lid is quite fiddly, you need to make sure to screw it right, otherwise it might leak. It requires some attention and can be annoying. Also the topmost lid (I still don't know its purpose) may come off as you're unscrewing the cap, it's quite annoying as well. All in all it's a great mug for a single cup and apart from the lid I have no problems with it. If you want a larger one and with no need to unscrew anything, buy a Contigo mug. It fits almost half a litre and it's easy to drink from, it's also more than twice the price. I own a Contigo and a Lifeventure and love them both.

I've been using this flask daily for over a year now, and am only now getting around to posting a review. I love it and have gotten so used to it in my life. It keeps coffee warm for hours, and because of it i've probably saved hundreds of pounds over the last year by bringing coffee from home. It's never once spilled in my bag, which is huge because every other thermos I've had has been prone to leaks and spills. Super easy to clean, doesn't retain smells, secure, and on the small side which makes it very portable. The only issue I have with it is that over time, the rubber seals inside start to harden. So after some time there's a prominent squeaking noise when you open the thermos which gets a lot of sharp stares if you're in a quiet place like the cinema,a lecture, or a library. Also, the outside green coating on mine has start to scrape off over time. So now there are specs of silver that can be seen through it, which in my opinion makes it look cooler and more "worn" in a good way if you know what I mean. But this might be a turn-off to others. All in all a very solid addition to my daily gear.

The Lifeventure thermal mug is a brilliant bit of kit. I have two of these, one for work and one for walking and camping. The stainless steel casing has prevented damage when its fallen off the workbench or dropped getting out the van. the screw in metal cap stops damage to the lid aswell as provide a storage area for a coffee bag but if you like tea i suppose you could hide one in there. Ive never seen any condensation in there but i dont know if sugar would keep as there is a pressure release valve in the lid.The cap seal easly comes off for cleaning. The cup itself can easly be cleaned even though its narrowish. If i leave the cap off a coffee is drinkable after about half a hour and is how i use my work cup every day.My camping and walking cup gets the lid put on and is perfect temprature to drink come lunch time. Ive made one up the night before and wrapped it up well in insulation and its been a bit on the cold side but still warm the next moring. If these ever die i will definatly be getting replacements and as im writing this im wonder if the do a full size flask? im off to have a look now!

The Lifeventure thermal mug is basically a mini thermos flask with the advantage that its size makes it cup like to drink from. This usability is further enhanced by the bodys curved shape making it nice and snug in the hand. My version is is Khaki colour (lime/green) and feels like a matte finish in the hand making It very grippy, excellent. As for the technical aspects the screw in cap is actually a two stage piece, the bottom portion housing a pressure release chamber, a nice touch. When screwed in place the cap provides a water tight seal. The inside is made of food grade stainless steel and the cap has a food grade silicone seal, it’s a really well designed item.I bought a cheap version from tesco and it leaked all over the place, it was well worth spending a bit more to get a serious stay hot mug. The packaging states it will keep liquid warm for 4 hours and cold for 8 hours. The capacity is 300ml, so basically two thirds of a pint. This seems the standard size for all these mug size thermos flasks, personally id like a full pint size. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

I use mine in the office all the time instead of a mug, it keeps my drink hot even without the lid for a good half an hour, so that when you get one of those long phone calls just after you have made your drink you have still got a hot drink left at the end!It is leakproof, so practical for carrying in a pocket, backpack or handbag. With the lid on it remains hot for several hours. Sometimes the condensation on the lid can drip when opening but still less messy than pouring out of a flask into a cup.It fits in the cup holder in the car. Wouldn't try and drink from it when driving but great for when you get there.I've used it for all sorts of different cold drinks and hot drinks with no problems with tasting the previous drink.Once I accidently left it in the hot car for two days with some milk in it, all it needed was a wash out with some washing up liquid and bicarb of soda and there was no trace of any smell or taste!Much easier than a flask to clean.Bought one for my husband, he uses his in the garden and on bike rides and walks.

I bought this mug to use in the mornings on my way to work. I have an hour journey and like to have a hot soy latte waiting for me at the end. It does the job well. The mug is about 330ml so quite small and slender in comparison to some of the bigger ones, but if you just want a small flask to carry around this is ideal. It also fits perfectly into the cup holder in my car so I'd imagine this would be the same for many other cars. If you want to use it to take into coffee shops and be filled it is just under the size of a "tall" in starbucks. It slips into my handbag easily and is completely water tight so no risk of unfortunate accidents. It keeps your coffe/tea hot for at least 2-3 hours and even if you leave it in there it will still be lukewarm at the end of the day. It is the best mug I have found for keeping your coffee hot for a long period of time.Overall good value for money at under £10 and if your the fashion conscious type there are loads of different coloutrs to suit you.

If you're looking for a way to carry a hot drink around with you, say on a commute, then this thermal mug is about as good as you'll find anywhere. The plus points: it's slightly shorter than those thermal mugs with handles so it's easier to fit in a work bag, but it'll still hold the equivalent of a regular-sized coffee. Its strong, well engineered metal construction means that you can accidentally drop it or, if you've a mind to, roll it around or even throw it against the wall without it breaking or leaking. For safety reasons it has a built-in expansion section in the screw-on lid. All this tech will keep your drink hot for at least 3-4 hours too.I haven't used it for keeping drinks cold but that would follow on from its capability with hot drinks.Minus points: you have to unscrew the lid to drink from it but that's a fair trade-off against those slider opening ones which will leak. Conclusion: highly recommended for the commuter v. beverage game.

Lovely colour, green, and a really good capacity for my needs.Good construction, as I dropped it the first time of use... Just days after I dropped a classic style thermos from about the same height. Not much around 2-3 feet. The thermos flask smashed and died of internal injuries, so I thought oh not again when this mug went tumbling. But I need not of worried. It was fine.My normal use case is to sip at my tea these days, over an inordinate amount of time. Have some swallowing issues. Along as I replace the nifty cap, keeps drinks hot for quite some time. Or I can leave half or few hours later and it seam to be hot enough for me.I'm very happy with this flask type mug looks and performs well, and for capacity is decent too isnot darn huge!I cannot think of any down sides, except if you have weakish hand like me, could have done with some grove or what-not in the grey lid area for a better grip - probably not an issues for majority though.

The mug is very well made and looks nice. Unlike many other thermal mugs it's completely waterproof. I can put it in my rucksack safely. The top simply unscrews like on a regular thermal bottle. There is no fancy opening to help you with drinking in less comfortable situations. The top comes off in two parts, to help if there is a pressure build up inside due to hot liquid but I never had that problem.I had another thermal mug from lifeventure where the thread was a plastic part separate from the metal thermal part. It caused all sorts of trouble with cleaning and liquid being trapped inside the walls. This is not the case here. The body of the mug is a single steel part that is easy to clean. The only gripe is that it does not actually hold the heat that well. I fill it with coffee before leaving the house and drink on a train half an hour later. The liquid remains hot but the drop in temperature is noticeable.

I did not buy my lifeventure thermal mug here but from a shop but just to let everyone know that this is the best thermal mug I have ever used!! I am unsure as to why the other person's drink only stayed hot for 2 hours as mine is HOT several hours after! I have never had any spills in my bag and although the paint has worn off a bit it looks well loved and is still going strong after 3 years of having it. Although it doesn't say whether they are dishwasher proof or not I always put mine in and have no problems-only that water collects in the top lid which you just need to empty out as it can spill out as that bit isn't water tight. As the other review said I too am not sure what the extra space is for in the lid perhaps something to do with pressure in the lid? But I use it to keep sweeteners in incase I fancy another coffee during the day!

I have just started using this, so at this current moment i am unable to comment on the longvity of the product but i am very impressed! I am a uni student and so living off coffee from starbucks was costing me a fortune! So this way i can make a coffee in the morning, chuck the flask in my bag (knowing that it is not going to leak) and can drink it throughout morning lectures. For example this morning, i made my coffee at 8:40 and opened the flask to take a first sip over and hour later and i burnt my tongue really bad! It was soooo hot you would have thought it just come out the kettle. I left the lid off for 10 mins and i still had to take small sips because the sides of the flask are so well insulated it took ages to cool down...Very very happy with this product!

I had contemplated buying a Lifeventure mug for quite a while and finally got one to investing in one. I received the mug quickly and after 3 weeks of use I am very pleased with it as it does what it should very well. Brilliant at keeping hot drinks really warm - you can feel absolutely no heat escaping from the sides of the mug once full. Only one small critique I have is the lid can be slightly tricky to get on just right - with warm drinks you don't want it spilling!! But 30 seconds ensures it's correctly on the treads and there you have an excellent ready to go thermal mug. A nice size to carry about - not too bulky and looks okay - overall for the price you have nothing to loose - Iconsider mine a good investment.

I bought this to go in one of my spare ammo pouches. I ended up getting through about nine hot drinks over three days - which I would have been thoroughly miserable without, and which I wouldn't have even bothered to make had I not had this great little flask. To avoid any leakages, I had to be really meticulous when putting the lid on, but once it was on it kept my tea drinkably warm for over four hours, and it kept all of it inside the flask despite all the knocks it took during the exercise (being dropped, landed on, shaken up and generally abused). My only criticism would be the amount of heat lost through the lid,but it still did it's job and kept me a very happy Corporal for three days on Sennybridge trg area.
