This is switching a flat CFL pancake type luminaire on the wall of my house. Two cheap PIRs have failed on it now in 4 years, so I thought this might be the time to spend some money on a quality item and see if it lasts longer. £30 rather than £8, so I'm hoping it'll do at least 6 or 7 years otherwise I'd be better off buying cheap.......Anyway, it's nicely made and has a precision feel that the cheap ones didn't. Easy to fit and connect the wiring; it screws to the wall on a carrier - a kind of sub-frame - that allows the unit to be aimed left and right (the PIR itself is up / down only).Just finished the install so I need to set up the lux and timer settings later today as darkness falls but so far,

Good solid PIR Early days but seems to be working well. I'm not overly impressed with design although it does look nice when finished. The unit is in 3 pieces. You screw the back half of the main body to the surface through the smaller backing plate. This allows for the lateral movement of the whole body. The PIR detector itself only moves vertically. The front part of the main body hinges inwards from the bottom. You hook it in and then secure it at the top with a single screw. This is my main gripe. You need to leave room above the unit to screw the screw in. This was a pain for me as I wanted to use the existing wiring hole. The fixing screw or preferably screws should be inserted in the front of the unit.

There is plenty of space to terminate the cable, but as the photocell doesn't have a restraining strap, it can fall during installation. The cover is fixed by a small cross head screw at the top of the enclosure, so a right angled screwdriver is necessary if installing below a soffit. Adjustment for time and lux level is easy.

Went through various PIRs that would seem to work short term (badly) before being on all the time or triggering for no reason at all. This unit feels better quality than other cheaper alternatives. So far its working perfectly and looks smart as well. Time will tell how well it lasts though

Highly effective motion sensing. Senses motion very quickly. My last one was poor and switched on during day light, so had to be replaced. This is very easy fitted. Was not the cheapest one around, but you do get what you pay for, this one oozes quality. Well pleased.Highly Recommended.

Expensive but fed up with previous cheaper Screwfix fitting that stayed on all day despite adjustment to sensors. This unit was easy to fit and extremely easy to set up. Really impressed this the auto sensor operation - works very well and worth the extra££

Purchased to replace an old one that failed in the On position.Very easy to fit and wire up. I like the broad bands of the 2 settings making it easy to set up.Very wet and windy weather lately and there has been no problem with this item.

Mounting onto brickwork faced wall, choose the location carefully for the access of the rear entry & exit of the mains power cables & then securing the unit to the brick face.Works really well once installed correctly.

Stuff like this is difficult. The market is either cheap crap or seemingly over-priced for mediocre. This is just a solid product, it's sensitive, has a nice wide and long range. Nothing like what you'd get in Homebase

easy set-up and does exactly what it said on the box. After a few days I readjusted the sensitivity and have not touched it once since, I would recommend this unit to anybody :-)

Have been using this for a year now outside in the UK and a very exposed wall. I have had no issues at all and it operates in all temperatures and all weather without fault.

As an electrician, I go for quality over cheapness every time. This is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Miles better than the crappy LAP ones screwfix sell.

This is an excellent motion sensor. It's identical to the first one a bought a number of years ago. Great quality, very easy to fit, and simple to setup.

I needed a sensor that pointed straight down to cover a narrow pathway--this was perfect for the job.
