I've never had a game impact me in such a meaningful and thought provoking way. What LIS2 lacks in gameplay it more than makes up for in powerful thought-provoking story-telling, and if you are fan of immersive storytelling this will be a game that you will treasure! How ever you've stumbled across this game (whether through recommendations or on the merit of it's predecessors) it is certainly worth the while. I myself, was perhaps one of the few sceptically people that stumbled across this game randomly (as it was recommended on my Xbox Live, and the initial episode was made free) and had no idea what it was going to be about (no trailers, no spoilers, no blurbs, nothing!).This made the impact of episode 1's "surprise" even more shocking to me (to the point I had to literally stop playing the game for 30 minutes to process what just happened). In the space of 10 minutes our call to action is established, and we are immediately able to connect with our protagonists in a genuine and endearing way that is rarely seen in video games or any medium for that matter. The immersive experience in the game is so well done, that we are encouraged to explore our surroundings at our on pace, but at the same time not go to far off track from our goal. Once episode 1 was complete I had to buy the rest of the game immediately! (maybe freemiums aren't so bad after all!)At first I was wary of the decision-making mechanic (as fans of its predecessors will note, the aforementioned draws out two endings where a lifechanging decision must be made, but in turn can easily make the smaller decisions in the game feel minuscule/or irrelevant to how it will end). I quickly accepted the fact that while LIS2 is an immersive game experience, it still has drawn out narrative-driven plots and objectives that we will inevitably get to regardless of whether we want to or not (so reloading checkpoints or restarting the game is usually pointless - after all we are genuinely supposed to be experiencing this story through the lense of our main character, and real life does not afford us the luxury of restarting right?). With that being said, I was impressed by the fact that the game offers unique endings which are driven by even the smallest of decisions that we've have made.Considering the fact that each episode (depending on your exploration and decisions) can last up to 3 hours, and you have 5 whole episodes and a bonus game included for almost 25% of the original price, this is worth all the money... and/or tears!

My daughter and I played the first Life is Strange and were completely drawn into the world of Arcadia Bay and the intriguing story of Max and Chloe, so even though we were underwhelmed by the prequel 'Before the Storm' we were excited to play this more-encouragingly titled, Life is Strange 2. This isn't really a sequel, however. Only one character from the previous games is here: David, and instead '2' focuses on a completely new cast.Life is Strange 2 revolves around two brothers, who after suffering a terrible tragedy in the game's opening chapter, become propelled into a sad journey of self-discovery as they have to flee their hometown. Dontnod Entertainment develop the two boys'story arcs beautifully and as in the previous games, the voice acting, animation and watercolour aesthetics of the game are top-notch. The use of sound and colour perfectly encapsulates the tone of the game, which is more stressful and heart-wrenching than the sinister brooding atmosphere of the first game.As in the first game, there is plenty to do alongside following the game's story - the collectibles system is similar and anyone who has played the first game will find their way around this game intuitively. The plot features plenty of twists and turns, encouraging the player to explore the game's replayability, which we feel presents great value for money at it's price point. If you love story games, especially ones which will tug at your heart strings and at times have you on the edge of your seat, Life is Strange 2 will not disappoint.A note to Square Enix - we want Life is Strange 3, now!

I love these types of game and like to keep them as unique experiences by only playing them once so I get "my story". It's therefore vital that these games offer the best possible story and characters from the start. In the main, LiS2 does just that. The game feels a bit more mature than season 1 and that's the first good thing. Second, it has a more powerful storyline due to your little brother being the one with the superpowers. This puts the emphasis on it being your role to guide his morality for better or worse. It does work really went. The overall style of the game has you moving from one place to the next down the country on the run. This keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen. The most important thing though is this season has got real, proper endings. The one I got seemed absolutely right for the way I'd been playing. There's about 6+ and in a game like this more is always better. The reason this game lost a star was due to there being too much forced gameplay. We all know in games like this there is only the illusion of choice, but some games do this cleverly and subtly, while others blatantly force the situation. Unfortunately, many times LiS2 is the latter. I was roleplaying a good big brother play through, but the game forced me to choose an option out of character too many times. There are also several scenes where it's obvious you've just been railroaded into a bad outcome regardless of your actions. All said, this is still a great game and definitely worth your time. It improves in many ways over season 1, even if it does have a few flaws.

This second version of Life is Strange is more laid back than the first one but for me it feels less shallow. There are genuinely touching moments that only stone cold hearted people would fail to be drawn in. The love between the two brothers is endearing, the trials and tribulations they face are very emotional. This is not a game that needs excessive input from the player, there are choices that do have consequences of course, be it romance, relationships or tragedy, but the attraction for me is the feeling you're on this journey together with these boys and there's definitely a connection and I genuinely cared about them and their fate.I believe negative reviews are too focused on comparisons to the original game. This is a mistake. They are two very different genres linked only by the style of play. Get that mindset and you'll enjoy this one.

After playing Life Is Strange 1 and Before The Storm, I was a little apprehensive playing the next game as it was all new characters. However, it kept the same personality and charm of the first game. Every scene, every location has so much character and stays with you long after leaving it. Each episode you are in a completely new location, and it can be quite emotional and hard going at moments, but it's totally worth it.I absolutely love this game, and I just want more of it. I wish they could have added in-between episodes somehow to make it even longer. I never wanted it to end.

I absolutely love this game and its prequel. Having played the first Life is Strange for about twenty minutes I had paused the game, gone onto Amazon and purchased the second one. Fantastic graphics, great storyline, multiple endings were all incredible. Granted its not for everyone, I love story driven role play games like Ico, The Last Guardian, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Erica, Where the Wild Things Are etc. and if this is your kind of thing I'd highly recommend it. Roll on Life is Strange 3!

I’m a huge fan of the first Life Is Strange, and Life Is Strange 2 did NOT disappoint! The first Life Is Strange is and always will be hard to beat, in my personal opinion, however, Life Is Strange 2 still hit the mark. Life Is Strange, Life Is Strange: Before The Storm, and Life Is Strange 2 truly are such unique games and experiences that aren’t to be missed out on. If you’re already a fan, or new to Life Is Strange, don’t hesitate to purchase this game or any of the previous ones!

I’m a huge fan of the previous Life Is Strange game, and so I’ve been excited about this second one for a while. It didn’t fail to disappoint - absolutely loved every minute of gameplay. Anyone who’s a fan of number 1, I’d recommend you get this second instalment to delve back into such a gripping game experience. Storyline, character development, soundtrack, voice acting are all spot on. The voice acting I’d say is some of the best *ever* in video game history. Very impressed!

Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She played the first one and she loves this one. It is a choice based game that doesn't require that much effort and no skill at all. More like a movie or series to be honest. Not something I personally would play but girlfriend was satisfied with this game and would recommend for anyone who is into choice based story games.

I loved this game. If you enjoyed the previous life is strange games, no doubt you’ll enjoy this one too. When playing this, it feels like there is definitely more cut scenes that you’re watching than playing which can be a little boring. Again, lots of different choices which all make the biggest impact later on in the game.

Two boys run away because they are in trouble with the Police. You decide what happens next in the story. The graphics are good. You get five episodes plus a bonus game. The game takes a long time to download, which can be done overnight.
