I have a reasonable number of SmartThings sensors, with this being my first Fibaro sensor added to the Samsung system.Initial thoughts are that it's not a bad little sensor. While not the prettiest, it works and pairs easily with the SmartThings system. After use of it for a week, my views are:+ Small and discreet (although Led lights up when it sees you which gives away the sensor's location)+ Pairs quickly, works as expected+ Multiple sensors in one packageNegatives (although not a deal breaker)- LED flashes when one of the sensors activates, such as motion- LUX updates are slow, so some experimentation is needed to find a good lux level where motion lights can activate.- Motion sensing is slower than SmartThings own motion sensor.Takes approx 1 second, where as SmartThings operates almost instantly.I mainly bought this sensor to add LUX/luminance sensing for my system, because using motion sensors that operate lights only when it's dark had to rely on timing or sunset/sunrise settings. These are OK, except they don't take into account for cloudy/dark days, and I frequently found the sunrise/sunset failed if a light came on before the sunset triggered, leaving the light on until the next sunset operation.Adding this sensor to the system has allowed me to replace all the timing parts of my events, so lights are now all operating if the house/outside is dark, which is much better. It has taken some time to find a lux setting that I'm happy with, and moving the sensor around to determine dark settings doesn't work as the sensor seems to report LUX changes very slowly. One of the other issues is with the tamper detection - it triggers quite often (which displays a series of red, white and blue led flashes), when for example, it's serious windy outside (where my sensor is). But as I am not doing anything with the tamper detection, it's okay. Just hoping this doesn't impact battery life.Overall, this is a neat sensor, which is a little slow, but adds the main functionality missing from Samsung's own products for SmartThings - luminance detection!

So I only got this tiny sensor yesterday but I am very happy with it. I am using it along side zwave.me usb stick and home-assistant on a RPI3 as my controller with open-zwave. This was my first z-wave device and set-up was very simple. It is the size of a pingpong ball and comes with battery and clip-on holder that allows the detector to be pointed in any direction and can be used as a stand or attached to a wall or other surface with a single included screw. The "eye" changes colour dependent on temperature and lights up when movement is detected. All the sensors are able to be fine tuned within the device firmware through ozwcp and movement and vibration report on both plain and securitychannels and seems each can hold is own adjustments. This is the first FIbaro device I have used and based on this I am going to give some in wall switches a go.I will update in 6 or months with info on how the battery is holding up.UPDATE: I thought I would update on 2 issues. First is range as one user reported it very short, this will of course be reliant on both sides of the link but I have the sensor about 25 meters from the closest relay point and through three walls, two standard brick and one just under a meter thick from the 1700s. It became erratic when moved one room further away but for a battery powered device I am happy with the range. To get decent reading from the LUX senor I needed to make sure it had a clear view of a window. When placed looking inward from the window side into the room reading where very low and hard to build rules against once facing a window the range increased many time over so much much more useful.

Nice little sensor. I have three of these controlling lights and security in my house. My set-up is Domiticz on a Raspberry Pi and this connects easily and has good functionality. Not only does it sense motion, but also light levels and temperature. One of mine is set to turn on the lights if there is movement detected and the light level is below a certain point. It is compact (around table tennis ball size) and discrete. Being battery operated, you can put them anywhere (e,g, mounted on it's bracket on the wall or sitting on a bookshelf). I find the batteries last around 6 months and they're cheap and easy to replace. It does flicker it's LED lights behind the round panel on the front when it senses movement. You can change those settings so the colours represent different things (e.g. the temperature or light level) or you can just switch the LED lights off if you find it annoying or have it set-up in a bedroom.Overall it's a neat little LED with quite a lot of features/sensors. It is a little expensive though. The Philips Hue motion sensor is just over half this price (but not so easy to integrate in a smart home system).

As well as this, I've got one of the Aeotec multi-sensors. This is very slightly smaller, and because of the shape slightly less obvious, than the Aoetec sensor. The main downside is that it's only battery powered, and doesn't have the humidity sensor. That said, this is proving a very reliable, effective, device. I'm using it with Home Assistant (via OpenZWave), and it works without issue. The configuration options are good, making it easy to adjust things like the temperature report to account for the fact that it's warmer at the ceiling, or change the thresholds for reports.I've attached it so far with just the double sided pad, and that's holding fine.If you're debating between this and the Aeotec one, then for me it comes down to a choice between a compact install (Fibaro), or more sensors and optionally mains powered (Aeotec).

I have a Smartthings System at home, I wanted to try a different motion sensor to the Samsung one as I also wanted something that would record light levels.Overall I am very pleased with this motion sensor, it was easy to pair and has stayed connected no problems.Build - Build quality is good on this, its smaller than it appears, it comes with a mount but also sits on a ledge fine. Its round design means its easy to mount in to a corner.Positives - Easy to connect, small, lightweight, longer battery life than other bands, provides motion, Lux and temperature readings.Negatives - Price (is fairly expensive), The light /eye reminds me of the lord of the rings and Mrs C found a little bit "freaky" its lights up on various events but you soon forget about that.

One of the more reliable motion sensors with a light meter, temperature sensor and very subtle vibration sensor (to detect earthquakes!). I like design of the unit. The couloured cats eye not only shows you when movement is detected but also indicates the temperature based on the colour. The mount also makes it easy to adjust the focus of the movement sensor although the mount means that you'll almost certainly need to drill it into the wall. The double-sided sticky tape does not seem strong enough to hold the sensor.Overall very good indeed, but perhaps a little too expensive.

I only wish they were a little cheaper. On the other hand if you want a motion sensor that actually works with SmartThings you need to buy this one and ignore the one from Samsung as it is total and utter rubbish. I started with three Samsung motion sensors and now have three Fibaro devices as all of the Samsung sensors have failed. As I said above I think this could be a little less expensive, I'm also not a fan of the look compared to the crappy one, but it works!

Excellent multi sensor. I brought this to connect to my Samsung smartthings hub. It works seamlessly. I brought two. One triggers the lights via motion in the kitchen to turn on when lights are below a certain lux level when motion is detected. It also controls a trv on the rad to turn off the rad if it's too hot.The second I use upstairs with a similar logic, but I leave put the lux level as I want the lights to always come on whatever the light level is

Seem to work very well, I have been replacing the samsung version with these after the samsung version fails which is very often. These don’t seem as quick as the Samsung, example with the Samsung version the hue light would turn on within ½ second where the fibaro’s are around 1 ½ seconds, however not a major issue for myself.Battery life seems really good, these have been installed around 6 months and still showing 100%

Got it to replace the Smartthings motion sensor as that has terrible battery life and stopped working after about a year. Have had this fibaro motion sensor about 6 months and works perfect everytime, with no battery change required yet. Smartthings says still has 100% battery but I'm not convinced that's accurate. Does not give false detections like the Samsung one used to.

Brilliant device, small and light weight enough to be held up with a drawing pin soninstallation is simple. I've used these with Vera Lite, Vera Edga and SmartThings all with a great deal of success. I have had a few odd lock ups, whereby pop the battery out and back in is needed but this is few and far between.

5.6.2019

It was smaller than I expected and it blends in nicely, it has good detection, the only issue I have is that my dog will trigger it even though pets should not trigger it. It works well and I have had no issues so far with faults.

27.4.2017

I'm using this with a Piper as an additional PIR. Its small size is excellent. It's a pity that the piper can't access the light sensor, thermostat and accelerometer. Bought 3 want one more.

14.6.2019

I've only using the motion detection part but, so far, it's been fast and reliable.I dropped a star because it lacks an audio level trigger and there's no operation by USB power.

Very easy to setup with smartthings. Detected the device natively and just works. Sensitivity is a bit low, won't detect arms moving from sofa but will detect moving bodies.
