I don’t know about the rest of you folks, but I find it really helpful the many QUALITY REVIEWS I read about products on Amazon. That is what keeps me writing well-thought out reviews, as your many QUALITY REVIEWS have been of GREAT BENEFIT to me again & again. Thank you.Now for my Review Of the compact KIDDE CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM that comes with a 7 year warranty.I was quite wary (i.e. unsure) about getting another Carbon Monoxide Alarm, as many reviews of Carbon Monoxide were either EXCELLENT, GLOWING REPORTS or very negative ones. So I decided to read a lot of the Carbon Monoxide Alarm Reviews and ANALYSE the results. (i.e.break down my understanding of what they all meant)The KIDDE Carbon Monoxide Alarm seemed to get a mix of both positive and negative feedback. However, having carefully considered its feedback, I decided it was worth considering. The Compact KIDDE CARBON MONOXIDE Alarm is indeed very compact weighing approx 200g (0.44 ounces) and its dimensions being Width * Length * Thickness ➡️ 7 * 12 * 3 cm ➡️ 2.76 * 4.72 * 1.18 inches. It hardly takes up any space and although it comes with screws to affix it on a wall or ceiling, it has a ready-made slot on the back of the alarm to enable you to hang it on a hook or nail that’s partly recessed into a wall. The Carbon Monoxide Alarm comes with instructions and Three “AA“ Size Batteries. It’s really easy to remove the cover to the battery compartment on the back of the Alarm. You just gently slide it down in the direction of the arrow and then put in the 3 * AA Batteries and then slide the compartment cover back on carefully. It’s important to note of course that it’s the actual Alarm Unit that comes with the 7 Year Warranty and NOT the batteries! You’ll probably need to change the batteries once every 7months to a year depending on HOW OFTEN the Carbon Monoxide Alarm sounds.[I say this as I’ve had a few KIDDE Carbon Monoxide Alarms in the past with at least two at any one time. Also, I believe that after about 5.5years or so, depending on HOW FREQUENTLY the Alarm goes off to alert you, the unit will need to be replaced as the CO Sensor inside the unit stops working!].And VERY IMPORTANT: WHEN YOU FIRST PUT IN THE BATTERIES, THE CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM MAKES TEN RAPID BEEPS, WHICH STARTLED ME A BIT. I should have read the instructions that came with the unit more carefully. You’re also advised to write in the date ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT, the date you installed the Carbon Monoxide Alarm & the batteries, as both the Unit and the batteries have a LIMITED LIFE SPAN. I installed mine on Sunday 26 July 2020 and wrote that date on the Carbon Monoxide Unit. I think it would be easier to write down the installation date with a marker pen.AND REMEMBER to TEST the unit AT LEAST once a week and PREPARE for the loud 85 Decibel Screeching Sound. Some Carbon Monoxide Alarm Units require you to vacuum their insides once every two to three months. I LIKE IT THAT THIS UNIT DOES NOT APPEAR TO REQUIRE THIS!Some people have complained about their own Carbon Monoxide Alarms received being manufactured a few years before they received them. The two I received were MANUFACTURED ON NOVEMBER 9 2019.Thanks for Reading and Hope you’ve Found MY REVIEW HELPFUL...

I had the plumber round the other day to look at my boiler. The hot water hasn't been great recently and I was fed up of having lukewarm showers and baths. My boiler is quite old, maybe 20 years. It was already old when I moved into my house 9 years ago so I wasn't too surprised when the plumber read the last rights for my gas boiler and told me it was beyond the stage that it would be economical to repair and it was going to cost many spondoolies to get a new one. Oh dear I thought. He also pointed out that I did not have a carbon monoxide monitor. I told him that there used to be one in the house but I threw it out because it kept beeping at me.He gave me a strange sideways looks and then told me in no uncertain terms that I really should have one because it could save my life one day. I pointed out that the old one have beeped because the batteries was going flat rather than any concerns about noxious emissions but he insisted that this was not a satisfactory state of affairs and he would not settle until I promised to purchase one immediately. Apparently they sell these in DIY stores and other such places but it is a bit of a chew to drive to the other side of town to spend twenty minutes trying to find the right aisle before asking someone in an orange apron only to be told they are on aisle 37 and you are on aisle 2 and then have to queue behind burly looking people with plaster splattered overalls with their over laden trolleys just to pay for your single item. I elected to go on line and this little beauty caught my eye immediately. A couple of clicks on my phone and, job done, as they say. It arrived the next day. I put the batteries in and it works straight away. I have put it right next to my gas boiler and I can now sleep at night in knowledge that it will wake me up if there is either a carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide emittance. It is made in China.

So, first of all I'd like to point out that it says on my order list that this was handed to the resident. It wasn't. It was left in front of my front door where anyone could have picked it up and walked away with it and I would never have known it was there. So, thanks useless delivery driver. Now that's out of the way, the Carbonmonoxide Detector. So, it's easy to setup. Take it out the box, put the three supplied batteries in and it beeps at you a few times. After your initial panic that you're about to die, grab the little 'Quick Setup Guide' and read through and learn the beeps were good. After that, if you're mounting it to a wall, mark out your holes, two drill holes, pop in the Rawl plugs (Yes,I spelled that right. Go check!) and hook your unit on it. If, like me, you live in a rented house and holes in walls = bad, then just pop it on a cupboard or something not too far from your potential death source ie boiler. Then, it just flashes once every 30 seconds. Job done.I hope I never need it and that this was a 'waste' of £13 but do you know what, it brings peace of mind. The flashing isn't so bright that it wakes me up, but bright enough that when I'm getting dressed I notice it, which is all I need to know it's still alive. I am not looking forward to the day the batteries die, as it apparently beeps every minute or so and the laws of sod say that this must happen at 3am in the middle of winter!

I was rudely awoken by a British Gas employee who had been called out to my neighbour's house regarding a suspected Carbon Monoxide Leak. The neighbour's monoxide detector had triggered and called out the Gas Board, who could not locate any leak in their property - so investigated around my house.Given that I was genuinely asleep when he called and had had a boiler issue the prior weekend, I was a bit panicked thinking that I might have been getting gassed in my own own. Thankfully, there was no issue, but at that point I realised that my own carbon monoxide detector had expired earlier in the year - having owned it for about 15 years...So at that point, I made a snap decision to get one delivered next day by Amazon!Less than 24-hours later it arrived. It came with three batteries, ready to go. Everything was easy to set up and install. There's a helpful test feature that you can acquaint yourself with to see how loud the alarm is, so I tested all this and placed it in the recommended spot around my boiler and cooker.Everything works perfectly so I'm very happy. The service from Amazon was good and the convenience of knowing that I could get the alarm the next day was good. At this price, there's no reason that every house with a gas supply shouldn't have one of these.

It's always hard to know if a carbon monoxide alarm actually works. So I'm writing this review to state that mine actually went off after about 2 years of owning it, and alerted the family to something we would have been oblivious to otherwise.I'm happy this worked when we needed it - unfortunately it happened to be at Christmas, but it's better to be cold, safe and miserable than dead. :)I recommend that as well as getting the alarm, you make sure you have the sticker up which helps to know what to do if it does go off.Following from a visit by a gas engineer, I've taken off a star because there's been a long term carbon monoxide leak which wasn't detected by this alarm. It only went off when there were very high levels, and turned back off while there was still carbon monoxide in the room.I'm not sure what level this is supposed to sound at, but it would be great if it was made clear that you can have carbon monoxide leaks and the alarm won't sound.

There's really not a great deal to say about this. I guess I have to take it on good faith that it's working well and will protect me if there's a problem.Hopefully, it will just sit there and work away in the background - and for 99% of people who buy this, they won't ever be aware that it's there. So, because it's one of those 'install and forget' pieces of kit, there's not much more I can add.It looks good, it feels well made, and I hope to God it's doing what it's supposed to do. From my point of view, I've got it installed high up in the room (not too high - there's some decent guidance provided in the leaflet), it's out of sight and I really want to try to forget it's there. So far,so good.I suppose the only way I'll really know for sure that it's working is if it sounds an alarm. In the meantime, all I've got to go on is the reliability and trustworthiness of the manufacturers name. And that seems OK to me.

I was advised to install a carbon monoxide detector when I had my CH boiler serviced. I chose this one because it appeared to do all I needed and was relatively inexpensive. It arrived very quickly, the instructions were clear and it didn't need any fixing as it could be placed on a set of bookshelves. There are however fixings to enable it to be fixed to a wall if required. Batteries were supplied so we were up and running in no time. There is a test button to check that the alarm is functioning and that the batteries are OK which I have tried a couple of times. The alarm sound is sufficiently loud and piercing as to be effective although I hope not to hear it again until its nest test!Would thoroughly recommend.

This CO alarm is a compact, neat design powered by 3x new AA batteries which are supplied in the box.Screws and raw plugs are included for wall mounting, but it also stands up on its own on a high shelf. There’s a press-button to test the audible alarm is working, and in any case every 30 seconds a small green light flashes to tell you the batteries are still OK.The manufacturer includes a leaflet with accurate medical information about the effects of exposure to carbon monoxide in stages, and the alarm will sound when it calculates the percentage of CO in the atmosphere over time reaches potentially harmful levels.A very good product: affordable, well-designed and with a loud alarm.Recommended.

I bought this to replace another "sealed battery" detector that was provided 4 years ago when our wood-burning stove was installed. One expects/hopes this kind of detector to last 10 years, like smoke alarms. This KIDDE CO detector inspires confidence - the bulb which flashes once a minute shows it is still working. And the sound when you press to test is LOUD. It looks and feels robust. Particularly the user CAN CHANGE THE BATTERIES! Liberating, and so one doesn't have to spend another £13 or £15 to replace it, just replace the 3 x AA batteries at a cost ~£3 (assuming you bought a bulk pack, like 12 cells).Well done KIDDE! (I'm not connected with them except for this purchase BTW)

Well, after many years of not owning a carbon monoxide alarm, the other half finally said for safety it would be wise to purchase one for our bedroom. This lifesaver alarm is an unobtrusive and cheap way to offer peace of mind and safety in case of a carbon monoxide risk.Installing is simple as popping batteries in and you're away, downside is it doesn't cover gas leaks or similar but for harmful carbon monoxide it should do the job, obviously can't say if it picks it up as luckily i don't have a leak! ;)I paid about £11 which isn't too bad for what it claims to do, there's a hefty warranty included which means it should provide safety for years to come.

Our old carbon monoxide detector had passed its life expectancy and had to be replaced.Easy to install and use, this is a very good value for money carbon monoxide alarm. It comes complete with alkaline batteries and same day delivery. The instructions are adequate and clear. There is also a 7 year warranty. The expected life span is 10 years and there is a space on the bottom to put the installation date. The device is CE certified and has a very LOUD alarm! At £10, this seems to be excellent value - especially when compared with high street prices and the £30+ British Gas wanted to charge me!I am more than pleased.

This is a second purchase of one of these. The first one is still going well but we are advised to have one in our lounge too as we have an open fire. It is easy to move this alarm around as it stands up well. We also have an option to mount it on the wall. A good point is the green light that flashes on every 30s (to let you know it is working) is not intrusive which is why we chose it for the lounge. However, it is easy to press the button to 'test' the alarm when moving it around for dusting, etc. It did make me jump. I'll probably wall mount it eventually. Well worth the money.

Our boiler is in the loft (we live in a bungalow) we don't have any other gas appliances on the ground level so the alarm had to be fitted in the loft. I was concerned that we wouldn't hear the alarm but on testing it it is very loud and can we hear it clearly in every room. Which is very reasurring. I have used kiddie products previously and have always found them reliable. The alarm comes with full instructions, batteries which you will need to fit and fixing screws and plugs. It was quick and easy to fit. I hope you found my review helpful.

30.3.2018

I have now bought a 2nd one of these alarms. It is usually difficult to know if a carbonmonoxide alarm works unless one is exposed to the dangerous gas which could then be too late. In this case I installed an alarm then left my holiday house for the winter. Before doing so I parked my lawnmower out of sight in the house so that it would not be stolen outside. When I returned to the house I started up the engine to park it outdoors again and the fumes were enough to set off the co2 alarm. I am very impressed.

All Pro's, this is the second CO2 unit and it was the replacement for the out of life one in the kitchenwith the oil burning Rayburn. The other is in our sitting room which monitors the Gas fired heater in the hall. We live in an old railway cottage on the edge of Exmoor in Morebath. our sitting room was in fact the "Signal Box" attached to the stone built Cottage.Been here 19 years and need to keep all Smoke alarms and CO2 alarms up to speed at all times.A truly magic little detector,Thank You......
