Have bought other carbon monoxide alarms in the past but found them unreliable, giving false alarms and more worryingly , not alerting me to a low level carbon monoxide leak, This alarm is however excellent, no false alarms, easy to install, but most importanlyy, RELIABLE. I accidentlly left a gas cooker tap on (with the gas unlit), very, very slightly, then went upstairs. The alarm sounded virtually immediately (tho the alarm was sited a few feet away across the room). I rushed from upstairs & turned off the tap. The CO level was still so low I could barely smell it but this alarm is so sensitive it had picked up a minute level of carbon monoxide. Useful display panel (on the digital model 10LLDCO).

I mean... I assume it works... It's not beeped and I'm not unexpectedly dead so I assume it's doing its job. Certainly the test mode works and the instructions are clear on how to set up. Ultimately I'm happy with it but technically I'm more happy I don't seem to have a gas leak. Will update should the following happen: battery dies, gas detected or goes clearly faulty. Will not update if I'm dead.*Will ask someone to let you all know if I'm dead.**Will only get someone to let you know if it's related to the review. You probably won't care otherwise.***If you do care thank you that's sweet. I hope you're well.**** If you don't care that's pretty heartless and I feel bad.

Although I’m a member of the Vine programme, this was a personal purchase.I had a shock when the engineer who serviced my gas boiler told me my carbon monoxide monitor was out of date and had probably not been giving any protection.I looked around and decided to go with this Kidde monitor because it had a built-in battery and a ten year manufacturer’s warrantee.Using the supplied installation guide, installation was simple, Screws and wall plugs were provided and I was able to use the back plate as a template for the screw holes. Having mounted the back plate, sliding the body of the monitor into place activated it.Great value for peace of mind.

There was no instruction on how best to open the sealed plastic package containing the alarm! This may be best done with strong scissors, but take care. Easy to fix, just two screws in the wall. It is best to fix at eye level, to enable you to more easily see the flashing indicator lights. Alarm not as loud as my last Kidde model. Has a 10-year guarantee.Beware of the little instruction booklet; it is held together with staples which are not bent down at the ends. I caught my finger on one of them and drew blood; not life threatening though. I shan't bother reporting this incident to the Health and safety authority!

Wasn't too sure as to which brand to buy or if to go for the digital display but having bought it I am pleased with my decision. It stands free or can be screwed to a wall & a light flashes every 30 seconds to show the unit is working. On testing the unit it goes through a sequence of flashes & resets within 30 seconds. I am definitely happy I bought the digital display model as it will show a full range of Carbon Monoxide at the unit from 30-999, useful I believe to show if any Carbon Monoxide exists at all, even if its not sufficient to be an issue. I like this & would treat as a very early warning.

Fabulous piece of kit. I had one that had gone past its date of use, and as I am conscience of the effects of carbon monoxide, I decided to purchase another. Kidde is a branded product and one I trust implicitly, There is another version of this device which has not got the digital display, but for a few pounds more, I decide to go with this one. On arrival I simply opened the package, pushed the back plate in to place, and this automatically started the device. 10 year battery life is amazing. Green light tells you that the device is working correctly, You can also test weekly, Highly recommended.

Brilliant compact design, easy to test and then fit, great price from Amazon. Bought this item to fit for an old lady neighbour of ours, which is why I chose one with a 10 year battery life. She had a new boiler fitted in her bedroom and whilst I was showing her how to set up the timer etc., I noticed that the engineer who fitted her new boiler had not fitted a CO monitor & alarm. He argued the boiler installation was 'safe by design', but seals can go at anytime between each annual services, so persuaded her to let me fit this alarm for her. At this price, why risk it; CARBON MONOXIDE KILLS!!!

Purchased this item in February 2016. We thought that it had developed a fault in November 2016 (intermittent beep every 30 seconds). Informed Amazon and a replacement was provided. However, on taking the monitor down from the wall in order to return it to Amazon, we discovered that the beeping was actually coming from an old monitor that had been stashed away in a cupboard behind this monitor!! Imagine my embarrassment!Amazon, to their great credit, was prepared to accept return of the replacement monitor but I decided to pay for it and keep it as a spare.

These are replacements for Kidde alarms that had come to the end of their life. Always found them reliable so hope this one will be the same. This one has a longlife battery which should last ten years. I have three of these throughout my apartment..My original one did pick up a carbon monoxide leak which was from an old boiler in an adjoining property. Emergency authorities took a while to find the problem and condemned the boiler which had to be replaced.So would really recommend for anyone living in an apartment or a flat.

The unit looks good but it’s not cheap. I can’t comment on performance yet as until we have a build of carbon monoxide and it does what it says on the box we won’t know. As for battery life, again I’ve only had the unit a couple of months and it states ten year life and as the batteries are non replaceable it could prove expensive, so time again will tell.It’s difficult to give a positive opinion on something that’s in the first few months of a proposed ten year guarantee but if it does what’s advertised I’ll be well pleased.

This product is neat, compact ,and the LED display is easy to read.I chose this sealed battery model to avoid future worrying about battery changes ,as it is guaranteed for 10 years.Compared to other makes and models it was competitively priced.The test alarm worked well, and even my Hetas fire fitter was impressed.As it was only fitted this week, I cannot comment long term about its function, as it remains to be seen, but so far I am happy !.This has given me great peace of mind !.

Kidde quality and value what else is there to say, if you have a fuel burning appliance of any kind anywhere in your home you simply must have a reliable CO monitor nearby and within earshot. These certainly fit the bill. I’ve had the previous generation units for the last seven years (now time expired and consigned to the Recycling) they were faultless, changing batteries was a bit of a nuisance though, these are 10 year life units with a sealed battery - happy days.

Purchased for the living room which contains an old gas fire and even older chimney.I hope it never goes off but better safe than sorry. I opted for the 10 year sealed lithium battery version as AA battery's these days tend to leak after a few years of being installed in a device that constantly draws a small amount of power. Plus it prevents people from stealing them for use in the remote or game controller.I will update this review if the alarm ever fails me.

I previously had a Kidde CO detector that took replaceable batteries. After 7 years it started beeping to tell me the 7 year life had come to and end.This new version has an inbuilt battery that will last the full 10 year life of the detector, giving complete peace of mind for 10 years without having to replace batteries.You cannot quite fit and forget for 10 years as you do need to test the alarm regularly but this takes seconds by simply pushing a button.

Bought two different versions of the Kidde (7DCO & KID10LLDCO) just to see the differences, this is slightly lighter/slimmer than the 7DCO as this version is a sealed unit. If you don't want to cut open a package and insert batteries go for this version. Both very easy to install and test. Love the digital display. I used 3M picture hanging strips to attach this to the wall, much simpler to use than the screw supplied and just as secure (but no holes)
