Purchased to replace an out dated unit that alarmed. Perfect 100% replacement as far as the plastics and fitment goes, the connector though is a slightly upgraded form. Easy to swap wire for wire the connector block and i stall and fully test. Perfect smoke alarm (safe radio active isotope) that has a design to prevent false alarms and triggers. Green permanently on LED indicates this is powered properly with the standby battery good. Red LED flashes once every 45 seconds to indicate the alarm is in detect mode, the instructions on how to reset it and install are very clear. Well made and a great alarm with a third wire that is the relay alrm indicator to the rest of the dwelling or offices.

I have been using BRK Smoke Alarms in my house for 11 years and I have found them to be very reliable. I started with one placed in my hall and another interconnected on the landing at the top of the stairs and gradually my husband added them to other rooms in the house. This particular order was for four to replace models almost 10 years old that were coming to their end of life. I have another three to replace in 2021 and would happily have replaced them with new BRK heads BUT I have just found out that BRK have withdrawn from the European Market and as such no new replacements are being made and when retail stock is gone there will be no replacements available.

Bought two of these as both of our original smoke alarms that were fitted to our house from new (12 yrs ago and a different brand!!) had passed their sell by date and were continuously bleeping similar to if the battery was dead in them but even with new batteries the bleeping did not stop which firmly indicated both were dead as a door nail !These smoke alarms fitted exactly in the same footprint as our old ones and there was no need to re-drill for the mounting rings as there are plenty of fixing holes which matched up to where our original screws were to the old ones.Would highly recommend these as they are so simple to retro fit if you need to replace an old smoke alarm or indeed if also

I had the exact same model which needed replacing.Over twenty years the design has changes only slightly as the battery door is now inside the fitting. The previous design completely shrouded the base-plate but this one (which uses the exact same plate) is exposed but is as unobtrusive and as its mains powered should give you peace of mind.There's a little green light inside to show you its powered up, it goes red if the mains fails and sounds the horn if the PP3 batteries should run down (which were included by the way - nice touch). I have one downstairs and one at the top of the stairs. The wife decided to test them out by cooking a steak - they ring out loudly and should be noisy enough to wake anyone sleeping.

I bought two of these to replace a failed 24 year old BRK alarm and its twin (had no idea how far past their use-by date they were) which are no longer manufactured. They proved compatible replacements, the new base fitting into the old perfectly. It was then just a matter of cutting off the old connector, stripping the wires to connect them to the new alarm's terminals and then pushing the new alarm onto the fitting. Very easy and no more disturbed nights (why do alarms always fail at night?). Very happy and just a shame that BRK no longer I believe manufacture for the European market.Unable to rate the battery life at this stage and in any case have used Duracells rather than the ones

There are 5 interconnected BRK 670MBX in my home, spread over 3 floors. These were required under the planning permission granted back in 1993. I have replaced them every 10 years. If the wiring is already in place, it takes just 2 minutes to remove the old one and fit the new one in place. The original model had the battery in a tray that could be easily pulled out to replace the battery. The later ones are definitely more difficult. You have to unscrew the alarm from the base plate, pull out the mains connector and unscrew the battery compartment's lid before the battery could be replaced. Why they had to make it so difficult is beyond me.

Bought this as a replacement for some Delta alarms after reading other peoples review, and it was extremely easy to swap out. As others have mentioned the bracket was the same so it was a matter of removing the old one and putting in the new ones, after making sure the batteries are in.The validity of the units I got were for 9.5 years, which I think is acceptable given that between production and distribution there will always be sometime lost, but for the price you pay it makes it very good value for money at just over £1 per year of use, and for a peace of mind that is priceless!

I was worried a previous reviewer said theirs was manufactured quite a while ago meaning it’s life was shortened. Mine was order in September and manufactured in July of the same year so no problem there. It fitted to the wires and fixture for my old model so easy to swap over.If this is being installed in full (rather than a repayment) you should be aware that the wire is really short. When mine was installed the builders made no effort to extend this so the plug sits pretty much in the ceiling making it harder than it needs to be to get it plugged into the mains.

Our existing smoke alarm kept beeping, despite me changing the battery, so ended up buy a replacement.I couldn't see the same model (Delta 1151) anywhere so ended up buy this, I was able to fit this smoke alarm into the existing bracket so didn't require any rewiring, so was very easy to install, which makes it an ideal replacement.Comes with a battery.I knocked off one star as the the unit itself is flimsy, and feels like it could break when you install or remove it, but once up, its works perfectly, I just threw the bracket that came with it in the bin!

It never occurred to me that this kind of device has an expiry date, so when one failed (very noisily) at 3am in our 10-year-old house it was an unpleasant surprise and terrified the dog; replacing the battery was ineffective and the noise continued. It was only on taking it down, removing the mains connector and taking out the battery that I saw a tiny label with a 10-year expiry date. The replacement is easy enough. I believe this model may be replaced by a different one, but the manufacturers were helpful in sending a table of new-for-old model numbers.

Smoke alarm started bleeping and would not stop. Searched Amazon and found Bliss Acquisations supplied this Smoke Alarm. Exact replacement for the two I had, mine had been in place since house was built, 20 years!!! Finding these was just fantastic, followed instructions on how to install. Two removed and new Alarms fitted, straight forward. Tested, dated installation and stuck label on Distribution Box as directed by instructions. Speedy delivery, instructions easy to follow and the cost was the most competitive. Job done.

I purchased two units to replace units installed by the builder 16 years ago, I know I exceeded the normal life span! They were very easy to install, I was able to use the existing ceiling mount as they have not changed the fitting, thank you.An earlier review commented on the age of their units upon purchase, I can only say mine are only two months into their 10 year life span, can't ask for anymore than that.The delivery was excellent.So would I order again? Yes, without hesitation. I fully recommend this product.

When I heard the dreaded chirp of my smoke alarm I went to change the battery, however, somehow broke the connectors! I searched everywhere online for the exact replacement as I didn’t want to faff around with wires etc in the base plate on my ceiling but couldn’t find one anywhere (it was a Deta). Then I came across this one that looked identical except for the brand and for an affordable price so I took the risk - and I’m so glad I did. Perfect fit!

I needed to replace both of the smoke alarms in my house after they finally succumbed to the eternal beeping that signifies the end of their usefulness. You can't buy the ones that I had but after a bit of research these turned out to be an identical 1:1 swap, and they installed exactly as per the older ones. Very pleased with them, and they also had a very recent manufacturing date so will probably never need replacing again before I move out.

Piece of advice- if your alarm is making any noise, sort it out immediately. Spent half a night not being able to sleep once after ignoring the chirping sound of my old alarm.Thankfully, this alarm was sent immediately the next day and I got a good night's sleep at last. I will rest easily for the next 10 years.And... it cheers me up when I cook!At least I know it works great and will wake me up if needed.
