I bought this for my Italian mother in law after I saw her mashing potatoes in a way that seemed very odd to me.. she was boiling the entire potato, then peeling it and putting it through a ricer. What a palarva! I showed her my masher (from Ikea, the only place in all of Italy (probably) that sells them)and she wanted one. This is shorter and a bit smaller than the Ikea one, but has the same wiggly mashing part, so it does the job the same. My mother in law is not unused to a bit of elbow grease when needed so this is not a problem for her and in fact, saves time on her old method.

This Brabantia Profile Line Vegetable Masher - Stainless Steel masher is a really good improvement on my previous plastic masher. To reduce the spuds, or carrots etc, to a mash is quite effortless. Even when I have misjudged and the veg is still a bit hard this masher deals with it.The resultant chunky ish mash is good enough for me. I prefer it chunky than reduced to baby food type.The only real criticism is the hook on top of the handle. maybe good if you hangs things up but a pain in the hand if the hold the masher in a certain way.

Way better than the traditional waffle-looking things, significantly easier to clean too.You may need to boil your potatoes a few minutes longer (or cut them up a bit before putting them in the water) to avoid lumps, but this is not exactly a hassle.

This is really good and is easy to clean unlike the plastic one I had before. Only critiscism is that the thin and smooth handle means that putting pressure for mashing is not as easy as it could be. Overall I think it is a great product.

This is a new amazing masher. Requires very little effort, cleans beautifully and actually makes a great job of mashing. Great quality. Really pleased with purchase and I would say it's the best on the market.

A smart, well made kitchen utensil that is so easy to use. You don't need the strength required for some other mashers either, it is much quicker and more effective.

Had a masher like this when I lived abroad and love this shape it works so well. Back in the uk I’ve looked all over when I found this. Perfect masher! Love it!

I love this masher! Not only does it mash well, probably with slightly more work than the normal one, but it washes easily without bits being stuck everywhere!
