A lovely combination of subtle colours with that little bit of sparkle in the middle. This Bourjois set of 3 shades of creamy beige, taupe and a soft darker brown with a smaller glittery highlighting extra provides great colours for daily use, the three combine well as brow/lid and definition colours to give a gentle eye make up for day-to-day use and then the glitter can add the sparkle to perk up the look for evening.This is one of a range of sets to give a smokey eyes looks with blue/denim versions and darker browns I think this is a more gentle smokiness without a really dark colour. The creamy beige has pinkish tones and can be used a base primer to help the shadow last longer but they are not as long lasting as some of my favourite sets [hence the 3.5/4*]

My gf has used this makeup a few times now and we both like the light and pretty colours. They are discreet, yet noticeable.With regards to application, it doesn’t sprinkle all over the face and only takes one layer/stroke with the little sponge applicator. She usually uses two shades – light at the bottom and dark at the top - and both colours stayed in place and were equally easy to apply.The packaging looks nice and is functional in the setup. It’s easy to open and a good size for carrying in the bag for evenings out or at work.The only criticism of this is the applicator sponge. It works well to apply the makeup precisely, but it’s quite hard and the quality is not very good,

I have heard it said that Chanel make Bourjoir products, or that they are made by the same manufacturer at the same factory..With this in mind I was keen to try their eyeshadows, because the colours of the premium brand are gorgeous.This is a really [really] nice set. The colours are super vibrant, and the gold in the centre is the most gorgeous eye shadow I have ever seen! There are no 'duff' colours in this palatte. All of them are really nice and I have to say it, some are as vibrant and luminous as the powders in the Chanel range!They go on beautifully, and have good staying power. These colours really are a bit special.I think this is excellent value and I will be looking for 'blushers'

I like how Bourjois creat a palette of colours that work together, and I have a couple of these already. This one doesn't include a guide to where to put the different colours (Bourjois often do this, it's helpful for less make-up savvy folk like me!), but it's not a problem, these colours were easy to use and I'm now used to how to create different looks with colours. I particularly like the middle sparkle powder which does add that something extra - particularly useful for a night out or turning a day look into a night look quickly by just adding the sparkle.The colours were nice but there wasn't quite enough definition between the different colours for me.

This Bourjois Smokey Stories Quad Eyeshadow Number 12, Grey Rose, is an attractive and good value product that my wife has been very pleased to use recently. For around eight pounds you get a nice palette with four smokey grey shades – the centre shade is a highly concentrated glitter which is ideal as a top coat. Included with the palette is useful applicator making this a self-contained and convenient product for your handbag or dressing table. Bourjois is a French cosmetics company with over 150 years of make-up expertise and a Parisian theatre heritage – it is now part of the American Coty group.

This is a lovely set of understated, almost natural colours which are designed to produce a 'smokey' colour.My wife used these and was very happy with the end result. The sections are divided well and allowed her to mix just the right colour between them to get a more natural effect but you can use more of one colour to produce slightly different shades and the sparkly silver in the middle for some extra shine. The brush applicator is small but still useful in getting the right amount evenly spread.The pink is actually much stronger than the pictures on the Amazon product page show, but not strong enough to be a bright pink, it's still a smokey pink colour. This is good quality eyeshadow which goes on well and importantly lasts.The colours are pretty and go on subtly enough to allow you to build it up to a strong vibrant look or blend it to be much more discreet.I like to use a brush rather than the applicator provided in the pack as this is a little small and the sponge tips are not as good at blending the colours.I have sensitive eyes and have to be careful with all eye make up, from mascara to eye shadow but I am happy to report that this has not caused me any problems at all ( it's normally the cheap ones which cause problems for me,)The packaging is good and strong , so more than up to the rough and tumble of an average make up bag too.

Eyeshadow compact containing 1 x primer, 2 x eyeshadows and 1 x highlighter plus foam tipped applicator. The primer is good and once applied all over the upper eye area helps prevent the eyeshadow from sinking into creases and keeps it looking fresh. The two brown eye shadows are a nice contrast. The darker one is perfect for the corners of the eyes and the soft, gold highlight is subtle and nice to blend just under the eyebrows. I'm not a great fan of these little foam applicator brushes and the overall effect is better if I use a cosmetic brush - the blending is softer. Nice set of colours and decent quality.

I just love these Bourjios Smoky Stories Eyshadows. I've got one in a bit of a green colour and also a brown colour. I use the colour on the right to put all over my eye lid and then the darkest on to put on my eye socket line. I use the lighter one on the left to highlight and 'pop' my mid eye lid and only when I'm going out for the evening, use the lightest sparkly one in the middle to highlight on inner eye, bridge of eye brow and in the middle of the eye lid. I love them. Feel like I couldn't do without them. Easy to use with brushes to get a really good look. Use with a eye makeup base from Avon.

Bourjois has long been one of my favourite makes of cosmetics, and I love their bold, vibrant eye-shadows - great for evening glamour. But before now, they would not have been my choice of eye-shadow when trying for a subtle understated look.However, this palette has the best of both worlds. The matt colours complement each other and allow shaping,whilst the pale sparkle gives eyes the brightness that I associate with Bourjois eye-shadows, whilst blending subtly enough with the others that the look remains natural and understated.This is now my favourite eye-shadow for daytime wear

Having just written a review about a lipgloss by the same brand as this eyeshadow set, and recommending to do some real life viewing of colours, I am going to contradict myself about this purchase as I didn't do any research. It could have gone badly but I'm absolutely made up (no pun intended!) with this set because the colours really are gorgeous and they look great on my eyelids too. The only thing I'd say that could be improved is the quality of the little applicator, if you are trying, like me, to condense the contents of your handbag whilst still having everything you need.

This is a super eye shadow palette for a special night out - great shades from a good makeup brand. The base contour colour is a warm brown shade and the three highlights are differing shades of gold, with increasing levels of sparkle in them. The central, brightest gold is amazing, it almost seems to have an internal glow. You can use it to add a golden sparkle to anywhere on your face or body, not just your eyes - even your hair. And the sparkle will stay there until you wash it off so, no matter what you get up to, you will retain your golden glow all night!

This is a set of four eyeshadows, designed to give a smokey effect. I tried the browns, using the light peach as the undercoat for the whole eye area, then applying the darker, mid range silvery grey, followed by the darker brown in the edges of my eyes. This works well for a day time look. Then just add the sparkle in the middle for an evening. The set comes with an applicator, and is well presented.This is a lovely set - really good shades, and an ideal set for covering both daytime and evening wear. Highly recommended.

I love the colours in this Bourjois Eyeshadow Palette.There are three shades of gold and a dark smoky brown. The gold shades all include glitter. A small applicator is also included. These colours can be used together or separately. My favourite is the the dark brown. It smooths easily onto the eyelid and gives a dramatic but subtle result. The gold shades blend well with this.The golds are all good, too, and will definitely be used in the coming Christmas season.

First this little compact looks high quality, made of a soft rose plastic. It contains four shades of eyeshadow. Three subtle shades; rose, a beige and a brown, then in the middle is a little golden glitter to add sparkle. They are nice subtle shades to give a natural look, but the glitter can dress it up for evening or parties. The applicator is okay, although more subtle effects can be created with proper brushesOverall a nice compact of subtle eyeshadow.
