I'm strictly a waterproof mascara girl, so when I received this product I wasn't happy but I always test out the mascara Influenster sends to me multiple times before sitting down to share my thoughts. I was wrong! I can rock this mascara despite it NOT being waterproof. My eyes tend to water and I also rub them occasionally so waterproof mascara has always been my go to or else I end up with raccoon eyes within an hour or 2 of application. I was able to wear this mascara multiple times through the WHOLE DAY without turning into a raccoon! Now my other concern and the deciding factor for my mascara choice is the formula weight. Being Asian I have extremely straight eyelashes that tend to point straight down or out,so I have to heat my curler with my hair dryer if I plan on using mascara that day or else they end up poking into my eye due to the added weight. Sadly, the formula of this mascara is too heavy for super straight heavy lashes even if I curl them. As soon as I applied this to my freshly curled lashes...... they fell and ended up straight completely cancelling out my effort of curling them. I tested this mascara for about 2-3 weeks so I tried multiple applications from light, heavy, and even tried using it only on some of my lashes instead of all, but in all cases my lashes uncurled and went back to super straight. Rating 4/5 because I know not everyone has my eyelash problem and I believe Nyx makes amazing affordable drugstore products. I have been trying out NYX's new mascara Worth The Hype for a few weeks and let's just say....it's love! First, let me introduce myself: I am a busy mom with a very full time career. My idea of makeup & putting on a face is mascara and lip product. Needless to say, I have tried (and own) too many tubes of mascara. From this mascara's wand to that mascara's formula to this mascara's packaging (yes, I am that fickle)....I have tried them all. So when claims of this mascara surfaced "a breeze to apply and comfortable to wear, this buildable formula actually does what it promises, making it 'worth the hype' in every which way." It also features a brush that tapers at the tip so you can brush, build,and lengthen even the littlest baby lashes at the inner corners of your eyes." Well, HELLO! Yes, please! It was no easy task (kidding) but someone had to put these claims to the test. So, is it Worth The Hype you ask? AbsoFRIKKINGlutely! The brush made it easy to coat every lash, even the teeny weeny ones on the inside corner. Like the description says, you can build this product up. TIP: I wouldn't again more than 3 coats as a heavy hand can result I spidery lashes. Unless that's what you're going for, then by all means spider away! I will say, practice caution when applying as the formula is very wet. Don't take my word for it beauty, with it's affordable price....you can try it for yourself. You're welcome! I received this as a complimentary sample from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I have never tried a mascara from NYX before and was really excited to try this out! I love black pigment and a bolder, more dramatic lash look on myself. I have sparse, thin lashes, so I'm forever searching for a mascara that can give me pigment, volume/lift, and curl. For the most part, I have to say I am impressed with this mascara. Aside from the fact that the price is incredible (in true NYX fashion) the product is really good quality. It's a smoother formula that doesn't feel so clumpy, so my initial coats weren't troublesome.I gave this about two passes on each eye and the clumping was mild and my lashes didn't stick together nearly as much as some of the other brands I use. Also, I like that it isn't heavy or really wet. The pigment is just perfect and my lashes are still pretty soft to the touch - not super crispy - and they have a really nice frame. The volume and curl on me was pretty mild, but I still really enjoy the natural look overall.In my opinion, this is an excellent mascara for bold, every day lashes. The curl and volume was not as dramatic for me, so I think i'd have to layer with falsies if i really wanted to edge this up. It worked great on my bottom lashes as well and gave me a natural open-eyed look. I used it without any other eye products and it still gives that extra drama when you need something quick out the door. Great product with great value overall! UPDATED: - Updated my rating to a 4 star as after 3 days of wearing, and putting a GOOD coat of it on (instead of my normal quick coat) I do believe my lashes do look a bit longer, though I can't seem to take a decent enough picture to be able to show it properly (this is probably down to me having short eyelashes). And whilst I've not been out in the rain with it, it seems to be staying on really well and not smudging under my eyes. Still find the wand a bit clumpy as per my initial review below and does tend to leave some blobs or clumps of mascara on lashes if not careful. End of Update.I only ever put on one layer as I hate clumpy thick looking mascara and this gives a nice coverage and it's VERY black.However can't say I can really notice any difference in volume or length to my normal ones. Maybe a tiny bit of difference in length but nothing to write home about. Thought the brush was quite clumpy with mascara though which will need wiping off each time I use it.If it was waterproof I probably would buy again as its slightly cheaper then my existing one.Have attached a pic with no mascara on and another with this mascara on. Sorry i dont have great eyelashes anyway so not the best examples, and they seem to want to go all over the place but you can see i definitely have mascara on in the 2nd pic.

Since I was 18 I have been stuck using the same expensive brand of mascara. I tried branching out to other mascaras in search of something more affordable, but there was always a hiccup: the brush wasn’t something I vibed with or the formula wasn’t as thick and creamy as I was used to. I found myself in a cycle of paying for my usual mascara and then spending money on new mascaras on top of that just to end up never using them.Along came WTH mascara.... and saved my lash life! The bristle brush is strong and thick and holds the amazingly creamy and pigmented formula perfectly and allows for maximum application with minimal effort! It wears all day, doesn’t flake or smudge, and spider lashes are history!No need to build this product up to the heavens to get drama lashes. This stuff is so dramatic it could be its own reality show! It literally is worth the hype. This product was sent to me a week ago and i’ve been wearing it since then to get a full in depth review. I really love it and it has become my new favorite drugstore mascara. It makes my lashes look fuller and longer. You only need one coat, but if you want to go for a full glam look i would suggest just too coats. Since i’ve been wearing it i’ve been staying again from lashes. The amazing thing out this mascara is that you can very easily go from an everyday look to a very glam one. The brush is really good for getting the bottom mascara as well. It dries pretty quickly, so you do have to work fast. One con it that it’s not exactly waterproof.I have very runny eyes they water all day and when I first apply the mascara after a few hours it is okay even when my eyes began to run, but soon after it starts to run as well. Even though the mascara runs it still keeps my lashes looking to same as the first application. This is an amazing product, and the price point is very reasonable. I'm really liking this mascara. I have short eyelashes with a little curl that are light brown in color. This mascara really does the job with lifting and lengthening their appearance. The brush is easy to handle, and I really appreciate the tapering which allows me to reach my smaller lashes and corners with ease. I sometimes experience allergic reactions when switching to a new mascara, and that did not happen with this one. Phew and woo! I also love that it comes off easily when cleansing my face. I tend to have a problem with mascara smudging off on my lower lashes, and that hasn't happened (score!). received this product for free from Influenster to try for testing purposes.Only complaint: it can easily clump up if you apply too much. so you have to be mindful of that when applying.Am I gushing cause I got it for free? I have kind of short, normal lashes and this mascara actually gave me a good amount of length and separation... I really look for volume as well in a mascara and it def delivers some, but not ALOT. You can build it up with a couple coats but not too many bc the lashes will start to kind of group together, which again, doesn’t really help in the volume department. It has a really big brush which I was kind of scared of at first bc I have smaller, hooded eyes, but it wasn’t difficult to use at all and I didn’t get any transfer. It’s a drier formula which I personally like so if you want a wet mascara,this one won’t be for you. I haven’t noticed any flaking or smudging throughout the day either which is great!
