Maybelline "Lash SENSATIONAL" 9.4ml Mascara in BLACKThere are so many different types and styles of mascara, it is sometimes difficult to know which to choose. Here is my experience of this one.1st Impressions:• There was no tamper-proof seal to the unit• The shimmery, dusky, pale pink casing with shiny turquoise writing and centre band, makes for a nice feminine look. The chunkier style of the casing is easier to hold for those who have difficulties with hand grip.• There is a peel back label on the casing, which lists the Ingredients in the product, for anyone who has to be careful about allergies.In use:• The wand is of a good length, making it easy and comfortable to use.• The curved bristles have several rows that are of differing lengths.The shortest are at the bottom and the longest are at the top of the curve. The bristles are comfortable and effective to use. I found that they coated and separated my lashes nicely and evenly. The shorter bristles are more like a comb.• I did not find any 'clumping' or 'clogging', just a really nice natural looking coverage of the lashes.• I found that for my older age group, one coat was enough for daywear. I believe it is better to look more natural and understated, as to have too much make up can be more ageing. For eveningwear, I would apply two coats for slightly more effect under electric light.• My lashes felt very comfortable, and the product did not cause any irritation or breaking off of lashes at all.• I usually use waterproof mascara and this one worked well, but was easy enough to remove at the end of the day, using my usual cleansers and toners.To sum up:The description of the product claims to make your lashes look "multiplied and fuller". I did not find the effect of the mascara to be that dramatic. This was not a problem for me, but some ladies might find this very disappointing. I liked the more natural look that this mascara gave to my eyes.At an RRP of £7.99 (considerably cheaper on Amazon) this Maybelline mascara is a good price. I would definitely use it again. However, I have deleted 1 star, because I do not feel it lives up to the description given by the manufacturer.

On opening the package I was pleased with mascara, it looks very high end and a premium product, it’s a rose gold colour and has 3D lettering in both the wand and unit. The unit felt nice to hold and as it had the 3D lettering it made it easier to grip the wand without dropping it. This would be rather useful for people who have trouble with their dexterity!The wand is quite nice and I’ve not tried this style before either. Its a usual mascara shaped tip except it’s like a silicone material and the tip is flexible and bendy as well as soft. Pulling out the wand from the unit, the tip is fully coated with mascara and it doesn’t look like it’s uneven or anything or heavily coated at one end but not the other.I like this as I don’t have to scrape it to remove the excess.Application: I removed the wand and started applying to my lashes. I always coat my top lashes first  but after my first zigzag and blink, I noticed the lashes were not really coated very well as my usual routine would have done so. I had to go over a couple of times to coat them where once is enough usually. The wand tip did get the ring lashes in the corner though in first try so that was an improvement to my routine. After my first application I noticed my lashes appear to be more sparse than usual so I applied another coating which gave it a better result but the lashes didn’t separate very well as they usually would.Conclusion: There’s nothing wrong with the mascara or the silicone wand, it’s just not for my liking. As a fair haired 52 year old that doesn’t have thick or long lashes I prefer a bristled wand tip. I can build up 2 coats of mascara as the brush wand will also separate the lashes and lift them, giving a thicker and fuller appearance . I think this silicone type of wand is more suited for the younger person or those with fuller looking lashes.The mascara was easy to rinse off with face wash in the shower and caused no irritations throughout the day. • Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Well-known cosmetics firm Maybelline presents this new mascara, which promises lots of volume—layers and layers of lashes -- with no clumps or mess. The very black mascara is washable, delivered to the lashes on a patented fanning brush with ten layers of bristles that capture and unfold layer upon layer of lashes for the new full fan effect, getting to each and every lash with precision, for volume that builds with each coat, and that the liquid ink formula will coat lashes from all sides. They add that the product is contact lens safe and ophthalmologist tested, and will remove easily with soap and water or a good eye makeup remover. The instructions state that,for best results, the user should sweep the brush from root to tip of lashes, and continue building volume until the desired lash look is reached. They warn, however, that the use of this product should be restricted to the user; that the applicator should be treated with the hygienic care the user would give her eyes. Also they warn that the product should never be used in a moving vehicle, diluted with water, saliva or any other substance; that the cap should be closed tightly after each use. And that use of the product should be stopped if change in color or appearance occurs, or it the eye is injured, irritated or infected.My eyelashes are pretty scanty, despite my having tried half the eyelash enhancers on the market. I’m just plain in the age range where eyelashes start to get scanty, plus for many years I had a real unproductive nervous habit of tearing my eyelashes out. So I’ve tried many types of mascara. Most get all over my eye area, as my lashes are so few; some irritate the area. I’ve been using this product for a month or two and strongly prefer it to the previous Maybelline product I had tried, Great Lash Big. A fantastic mascara at an even better price (I paid £6, but would buy it at the RRP of £8 happily). I bought this after I had seen positive mentions by makeup artists and others interested in cosmetics (and I've had good experiences with Maybelline mascaras previously), and for me this did live up to the hype!I am lucky enough to have dark, fairly long lashes naturally so I didn't pay much attention to what mascara I used previously (I thought anything 'did the job') - this has changed with this product though as I have seen what a volumising mascara can do! This mascara builds both length and volume substantially, and seems to hold the curl of my eyelash curlers pretty well too. One coat is plenty,but I sometimes do two coats which makes for a really wowing eye look.What really amazes me is that there is absolutely no smudging or flaking of this mascara throughout the day. I must admit I have even slept in this mascara and even then I have not seen it move at all! Really amazing formula for me personally. I don't have particularly oily skin/oily eyelids, so I can't comment on whether it's as good for all skin-types (bearing in mind it is not waterproof).I find it is pretty easy to remove too, which is great as I don't like firmly rubbing the delicate area around my eyes - I do use a dedicated eye make up remover for this area though (at the moment I'm using the Simple brand one).All in all one of my favourite and most reliable makeup products - will definitely be re-purchasing once mine has run out.

My friend purchased this mascara for me, as it was on an offer in Boots. I was having a bit of an issue with another mascara that I'd been using, as it was making my eyelashes clump together, and look quite horrible. I was forever picking out the clumps and my eyelashes with it too, which isn't good.This is one of the best mascaras I've used for quite a while. It captures every eyelash, even the tiny eyelashes right at the inner corners. It's also quite good for the bottom lashes, which I normally have problems with those, as they either dry clumpy or just look like I stepped out of the 80s. This does not clump. I have now worn it for two days, and have not needed to pick out any clumps.It also stays on all day, although the only downside that it is, is you do need to put a bit more work into taking it off at the end of the day!I think with the bottom lashes, you will need to wear eyeliner too, as it does look a bit odd (in my opinion) with just the mascara on the bottom lashes. This also makes them look really thick and because it's covering every lash, your eyes also look bigger - and more awake in my case!This is definitely worth purchasing, and even better if you can get it on an introductory offer (which probably won't last very long.) It's highly recommended, just be prepared to put in an extra 5 minutes to get it off at the end of the day!

This mascara is amazing, for the price is adds volume and length to lashes. On first use I was surprised at how 'wet' and gloopy the mascara was, but if applied correctly you get thicker and fuller lashes from the first coat. It is perfect for both upper and lower lashes, the shape of the wand allows you to effectively coat smaller lashes and lashes right in the inner and outer corners of your eye.Because the mascara is quite wet I found some of my lashes do stick together upon the first application but using a separate eyelash comb/ spoolie the problem is easily corrected. Throughout the day this mascara does not budge, there is no transfer, mascara goop in the corner of your eyes, or crumbling,it just stays put.The only downside to this mascara for me is that I've found that after applying my lashes no longer retain their curl. Looking at the shape of the wand with its curve I assumed it would be better at retaining the height of the lashes. However this problem is easily solved by giving the lashes a good curl after the mascara has dried. My lashes do not move from their position for the whole day.Overall I would say that this mascara is amazing for the price, you can't go wrong.

As a devotee of a big name mascara beloved by bad gals, I wasn't expecting too much from Maybelline's Sky High mascara. I was wrong - it's very good. I was a little surprised to find the item arrived unsealed, though the lack of a box was a good thing and eco-conscious. I was intrigued to see it contains bamboo fibres - again very positive as bamboo is a sustainable material. This is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.I tried the recommended application method shown on the Amazon listing - eyelash curler, followed by a lash primer, then Sky High mascara. I applied 3 coats and found it worked very well both in terms of volumising and lengthening. Once dry,I found it didn't flake and my lashes did not feel hard or brittle as I've experienced with some mascara.Any competition then for those cult brand big boys? - Yes! There was for me not a big enough difference between Bad Gal Bang and Sky High to justify that huge price difference, with Sky High currently being sold on Amazon for less than a third the price of Bad Gal. Why pay more? And Sky High is fast becoming a cult product in its own right.

To avoid smudging disasters, I always prefer to use waterproof mascara and prior to trying this I was using waterproof mascaras from Lancome which used to be around £16 but are now in the £20-£25 price range. I am so glad I took a chance and ordered this Maybelline one because it's a really good mascara at a fraction of the price!I apply the mascara in the morning and it genuinely lasts all day until I remove it with my eye-makeup remover at night. It goes on evenly in just one coat, with no clumping. There's no smudging or flaking throughout the day either. It's a really good formulation and I'm not sure if some of the other reviewers who left negative reviews received old stock but mine has always been fresh - if yours isn't fresh,send it back! I really like the curved brush too as it really helps you to apply the mascara in one coat, which is important I think if you want to avoid the spider leg look. I like the look this mascara gives me, it makes my lashes look darker, thicker and longer without being too dramatic - and for the money I'm saving, I definitely won't be going back to Lancome now.

Normally a Clinique Lash Primer user, I wanted to try a lower priced brand to see if it compares to the higher priced brand as it didn't seem to last long for the price. So far so goo in that it feels the same yet less than half the price. It has thickened up after a couple of uses which I don't mind as it allows for thicker lashes once mascara applied...just hope it doesn't dry up completely too soon as that will lower my opinion regards price comparison. I will update when I have used it for longer but so far, very happy with this primer and hoping it will be one I continue to use. *** update to say, a month on and still going strong. Very impressed with this and have given full star review as deserved.*** About to buy my third one now as definitely very happy with it. Watch for the price change though as when I went to purchase this one, it had been increased by almost £2 to £7.99...having waited a day, it has now gone back to a more reasonable price (currently £6.38) from previously being £6 but also, there is the saving option you can sign up for which makes it even lower.

I used to always buy Maybelline's Falsies mascara in a purple tube with a slightly curved wand and loved it. I kept repurchasing it because other mascaras just wouldn't do the job. It's not so much that I didn't like the consistency of other mascaras (they are all pretty much the same) but the wands are very different and achieve different results. After seeing this mascara on TikTok I was dying to try it. Tried it for the first time today and oh wow! I'm converted! Will definitely be repurchasing. I didn't expect much from it to be honest because some say it's amazing while others are not impressed. It made my lashes super long with minimal effort.My lashes are not the shortest so I'm not sure if someone with short lashes can achieve the same result. The wand is great. I could get every single lash with it. Even the ones on the outer and inner corners which are sometimes hard to get to. Lashes did clump a bit in certain places but I don't mind. I actually like that kind of look. They don't look too clumped if that makes sense. Two quick coats and my lashes are super long.

Sky High mascara can really do it all; the colour is very rich, I get great separation, added length, amazing volume increase, and the formula never flakes. plus it holds the lift all day and is easy to remove. the volumizing abilities of this are fantastic with just one coat, plus the increase of length is good too - my lashes end up hitting the tops of my sockets. I've found that the size and shape of the brush separates, fans and pushes the lashes up and out, right from the roots to the tips, so my eyes really pop - it almost looks as though I've tight-lined my lashes with liner, the bristles do such a great job at reaching the roots.what else can I say? I think that this is an amazing mascara for the reasonable price point.The only thing I think people may not like is that this mascara has a wet formula, so becomes gloopy when you apply multiple coats. I'm totally fine wearing one coat, so didn't remove any stars as the gloopiness isn't a problem for me, but if you like layering the wet formula may be a deal breaker.

My go-to, every day mascara that has not failed me.Initially I find the formula is a little wet, after a few uses it becomes slightly drier and that is optimal for me. You can build this mascara if you want to, it does not clumb my lashes as others do ( e.g. Tarte Lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara).I also use the Bad Gal Bang from Benefit occasionally but I do find that if in doubt and I want a solid, reliable, non transfering mascara that makes me feel confident and not worry the state of my lashes, I will reach for this one. It does not clumb and it elongates and lifts my lashes and keeps them in place neatly without using a curler.I have been buying this for a few years now and always keep a second one,as I do not ever want to run out.This is my one of my most consistent purchases in my makeup collection, next to my Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.I certainly recommend this product, it fulfills everything that a mascara should have for me and it is an affordable price too.Thanks

I always stick to mascara with a huge bristled brush because to me that’s always meant more volume, so when I opened this mascara up I thought, oh well, this isn’t going to work. I can’t believe how wrong I was.Usually when I do my mascara I have to to about 5 layers of it to make it look like there are even lashes there. This mascara took one, maybe two layers for a drastic difference to be visible.The thin, flexible brush makes it easily to manoeuvre around my tiny eyes and leaves loads of mascara on the lashes. The comb like brush separates each lash and the liquid defines them.It dries quickly, feels soft when dry, not rigid or crumbly. I’ve had a cry with it on and I didn’t look like a stand-in member of KISS.I even went on with my day without needing to touch it up.I’m so impressed, honestly. And for £7 it’s even better really. I’ve had the pleasure of testing this one but I will be ordering again as a new makeup necessity. It is epic and easily 5* worthy.

I was keen to try this new mascara as I’m always on the lookout for mascaras that give that false lash effect. As a big false eyelash wearer myself I find my lashes lack impact without them but I was impressed with this mascara!This comes in a nice, rose gold coloured casing, I like the embossed ‘sky high’ wording, it looks unusual and stands out visually.The brush is a flexible silicone style and fairly narrow, I wasn’t sure I’d like it but it’s actually easy to manoeuvre, gets into the corners and has good coverage.After one coat my lashes looked longer, I found it easier to build while wet so there wasn’t too much stubby thickness,I like long lashes rather than ‘spider legs’!My picture shows my eye on the right with the mascara and my eye on the left without and you can see the difference it made after 2 coats.Very impressed and has almost made me a convert from using false eyelashes! Amazing product. Recommended.
