So I have been wearing this for years now, so this is going to be a pretty in depth review. The bottle is a lovely thick glass cylinder which is weighty to hold. The lid fits securely and is unlikely to come off in your bag. The labels are modern, and like most rimmel products it has had several updates over the years in its bottle and label design, but the product remains almost exactly the same.Applying:The foundation is easy to apply. Against all advice, I actually apply it with my fingers as I find that using a brush can leave brush marks in it, as I don't have the right sort of brush and I like to apply it fairly thick.Staying power:Is very good. I can go to bed,and as long as I sleep on my back I can wake up the next day almost perfect. Now that's something. If I sleep on my side it does rub off a bit on the cheeks but that's to be expected.Removing:It's very easy to get off. I usually use a baby wipe or a cotton pad with some make up remover. Shower gel or face wash in the shower doesn't tend to work as well in my opinion.Water:Sweat will remove a little bit of the foundation. Especially if your sweating heavily at the gym or on one of the few really hot days we get in the UK in the summer. A light shower of rain on the other hand, won't touch it. Nor will getting in the shower with your make up on as long as you don't rub it or wet it too much. I frequently do my make up before I shower if I'm not washing my hair that day and I come out of the shower looking perfect, even if I get a bit of water on my face.Colour match:I find that in the summer, I have to go up a shade to match my slight tan and stop myself looking too pasty around all the sunbed lovers. I'm not lucky enough to tan very much so I don't have to worry too much about that. Sometimes I won't go up a shade I'll just use a slightly darker powder over the foundation. In the winter, I'm pretty pale but not ghostly and I find ivory 100 a perfect match. In the summer I like shade 200. The pigment in this foundation is very strong so you do need a good colour match or you will end up with a rim around your face where your foundation colour doesn't match your skin. I find a bit of bronzer under the chin and jawline helps to blend it in, as well as blending the foundation down a little when applying.Cakeyness:This make up never looks cakey. Even with layers and layers of different powders over it. I use a pressed finishing powder, bronzer, contouring powders and a highlighter and even with all that it looks amazing. I find that around my lip area and 'side burn' area near the ears where there is a little facial hair it can look a little clumpy sometimes but I just wipe the areas with a tissue to take some off and it's fine.Mouisturising:This foundation never dries out my face, but others do. The moisturiser in this is very good and helps to keep my dry patches moist when I get them in winter. It's a lovely bonus to have that in a foundation anyway, most don't include any sort of moisturiser.Sun protection:This at the time of writing the foundation is SPF20 which gives you 20 mins in the sun without worrying about burning which I find is perfect for normal days when your not outside much. On longer sunshine days I just apply a little suncream on top of it. I have never been burnt whilst wearing it so I presume because of the heavy pigment it blocks the sun from your skin mostly anyway, which you can look at in one of two ways, either 'Yay it protects me' or 'Ugh I can't tan whilst wearing it.'.Smell:It has a slight smell. Sometimes I think it reminds me of plasticine ever so slightly, it's quite pleasant. It doesn't linger once it's on and dry.25 hour claim:I've been wearing this for years. Since it was marketed as a 12 hour foundation, and then, I'd always tell people it lasted much longer than that. I kind of doubt 25 hours would be possible in everyday life. I think somewhere in between is more realistic on a very good day. Maybe if you sat still and never touched your face, sweated, slept or anything it could go 25 hours. In real day to day life, it easily lasts a full day at work. On a busy day, morning to bedtime, I will apply twice. Usually because I have a bad habit of rubbing my face under my eyes or on my chin when I'm stressed or concentrating.I can't recommend this enough. My skin is a bit oily at times and a bit of pressed powder over the top of the foundation helps to soak that up over the day and prolong the length of time it stays on for. It lasts really well and looks really good on me. Friends have converted to it after seeing me using it. If your looking for an affordable but excellent quality foundation, stop reading and just buy it, you won't regret it.

I actually bought this on recommendation from you tubers so I had high hopes for this foundation and it is truly amazing, I actually like it better than my Mac studio fix fluid for full coverage as I find its much nicer to build. When I first started to apply this foundation with my beauty blender I was a little bit disappointed, it looked a bit oily and 'wet' and it seemed to be not as full coverage as I had hoped. It also appeared to be highlighting any lumps I had on my skin - not attractive. However, once I started to apply my second thin layer the full coverage began to come into play. The foundation as I said looks very wet on application, however it dries down nicely after you let it sit for about 2 minutes and then add a generous helping of loose powder over the top. After applying the rest of my makeup, I was blown away! I felt like I was having the best makeup day of my life today!I have extremely pale skin but I do fake tan my body so this colour was a nice match for my neck, however I wouldn't recommend this shade if you are very very pale as it's quite dark for a light shade. I do feel like this is a little bit of a downfall as people buying this shade would be expecting it to be much lighter, however, if you apply a good layer of translucent powder and bake your under eyes, it brightens the whole face up anyway and it's not a bad match. For the price, this foundation is amazing. At £7 you really can't go wrong. I have recently been trying quite a few lower end foundations and have gone through fazes of favouriting each one but for now, this is the one that will be staying out on my vanity as i just felt amazing today wearing this.Highly recommended, I would say it performs much like macs studio fix without the horrible 'foundation' smell and the cakey coverage. Beautiful.

This buy is part of my ever lasting hunt for the perfect foundation. Most important of all is colour. I spent aaaaaaaaages trying to figure out the difference between Ivory and True Ivory as my skin is so pale I put Snow White to shame. After a LOT of google searching of swatches I decided to go with Ivory as results indicated that was the very lightest shade with no weird pink undertone. I think the colour is a decent match. It in no way makes me look orange and it is a very light shade, it is a hint more "alive" looking than my own skin however. I really am a shade of dead and this adds the tiniest hint of colour to my face. However once applied it looks good and actually stops me from looking unwell. The finish is nice.It isnt easy to detect it on your skin like other foundations. It blends very well.It also does not go blotchy throughout the day. I have found with almost every foundation I own that a few hours down the line my chin and sides of my nose (oily zones} go blotchy, making the makeup stand out and generally looking terrible. Not with this! It stays where it should all day.I also loooooove the smell of it.The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is that it can feel a bit greasy after a few hours. I have combination skin and find that the oily zones feel a little tacky after a while. However you cant actually SEE it. Looking in a mirror tells me my makeup looks fine but touching my face feels greasy. More so than other foundations i've used in the past. Obviously this is a mixture of natural skin oils mixing with a certain ingredient of the foundation BUT it's nothing that cant be fixed with a bit of blotting and application of powder.I would buy this again in the future for certain.

This is a great foundation, at an excellent price!I've tried a lot of foundations over the years, and my favourite is Mac MatchMaster but at £29 for 35ml, it's a little pricey to use as an everyday foundation. The foundation I tried before this Rimmel one was Boot's 'Perfect Match' foundation (the one that use a little high-tech device to find your "perfect match") and I absolutely hated it! So I decided to turn to the internet - and this is the one that I found!Rimmel Lasting Finish is a fraction of the price of many other foundations, it has excellent coverage and a good range of shades!I'm very pale with very sensitive skin so finding foundation, blushers etc that match my skin tone and type can be very difficult - I've wasted a lot of time and money trying to find the best one! I've settled for using the Ivory shade as it fits my powder and blends to my neck a lot better than other shades.I'm not saying this foundation is perfect - hence the 4 stars and not 5 - but it's kind of close!PROS: Easy application (I tend to use my fingers more, but a brush or pad applicator works just as well), Smooth and equal coverage, non-shiny effect (I do seal with a powder, haven't tried without). And one layer is plenty to get the desired coverage!CONS: Can take up to 5 minutes to dry and setWould I recommend? Definitely! - JUST be sure to let it dry at least 2-5 minutes (depending on what moisturiser, primer and/or base you use) before applying anything else (eg. eye makeup and/or blusher)Would I buy again? YES! This is now my go-to foundation!

I LOVE this product. My color is in "Sand." I have extremely oily skin. I enjoy the stickiness of this foundation. One sunny day I was moving large packages from outside to the Attic, I was sweating for 3 hours and the foundation looked flawless. I am drawn to this light fragrance like a bee to a flower. I use a Stippling brush to apply and I am able to achieve an airbrushed appearance. I apply a powder on top of this foundation to control oil (Iman Perfect Response Oil-Blotting Pressed Powder in light medium). A tiny bit of transfer broke through around my nose, however, when I sweat, the foundation still stays dries without leaving spots or creating a crease between my real skin and the foundation.I do not have to reapply or touch up. The foundation has a 'semi-matte' feel. I do like my foundations EXTREMELY matte because of my oily skin. This will be my cheaper alternative for a semi-matte feel to my "Makeup Atelier Paris Gel Foundation." I prefer to use only gel foundations because I like waterproof foundations. The foundation lasted up to 13 hours for me without a primer, without lotion, and WITH pressed powder. You WILL do some blotting without pressed powder for those who have oily skin. I have noticed softness to my skin after cleansing my face!

I have acne and skin that can be dry and flakey but when I apply make up it goes oily and makeup slides off! Because of these issues i'm really crap at applying foundation so i generally don't wear it. However I recently had a party to go to and had a number of large red spots appear a few days before so i decided to try a new foundation to help me hide their appearance and after reading lots of reviews i'm glad I purchased this one.I've used it a few times now and I find it is really easy to apply with a blender, it didn't look cakey and covers my red spots well, doesn't make dry patches really noticeable either, but do make sure you gently exfoliate before using. My skin did go a bit shiney a couple of times, but the foundation stayed in place and a quick touch up with powder fixed that. I've never worn a foundation that felt so comfortable, i'm guessing the "comfort serum" is doing it's job!Pros - cost effective, good match for my skin, stayed in place, felt comfortable and was actually easy to apply. I can vouch for it being touch proof too!The only negative i can think of is that it doesn't hide or reduce large pores, this foundation made them quite noticeable (up close) but applying powder on top helped to reduce their appearence.

I am really pleased with this product, when I first opened the lid on the Rimmel london long lasting foundation I noticed it had a pump with it which is great as it's easier to come out and it's less wastage. The smell of the foundation is beautiful.I applied the foundation with a beauty blender and it went on so smoothly and it was really easy to blend as it has the serum formula which acts like a moisturiser. I have some dry skin around my nose and the foundation didn't cling to the dry patchers which was good. the colours are really good especially ivory, it is ideal for pale skin and it kind of gives the skin a golden glow with out that horrible orange look, the only negative thing I would say about this product is it only gave me a medium coverage instead of a full coverage but personally I prefer a medium coverage as my skin is not too bad so this didn't bother me. It left my skin feeling smooth and flawless. The foundation lasted all day and didn't go patchy or budge from my skin at all. Overall I think this foundation is one of my favourite ones I have ever tried, it's great value for money and i will be purchasing again. It's not too heavy so it is perfect for everyday use. After struggling for years to find a foundation that covers my acne spots and scars, my dark circles and doesn't cling to any dry patches I did not hold out much hope for this but I was so wrong! The formula is full coverage as it states but it doesn't feel heavy on my skin and when I've worn this I really don't need concealer at all!As for the staying power we'll, I put it on at 15:30, went out drinking and dancing, came home after a few too many, slept in it and got up late for a girls date and didn't have time to apply new makeup (gross I know) and only at 19:00 the next day did it start to look bad... That's 27.5 hours of perfect foundation!!!Obviously I don't recommend leaving it on that long but it certainly held up to its 25 hour claim.I would suggest using a primer too just because it is full coverage a primer will help prevent any clogged pores. Also worth noting I have very acne prone skin and after wearing this foundation everyday since Friday I have had no spots or irritation which happens with almost every other foundation I have tried. This is my new go to foundation!Inserted a picture of it on my night out and a picture of it after 12 hours at work. Neither picture is edited or has any kind of filter.

I have naturally combination/oily and pale olive-toned skin and so I tend to go for long-lasting matte finish foundations, rather than foundations that are dewy or moisturising, which tend to just slide off my skin. However, due to some dermatological treatments I developed flaky and dry skin and so I started to look for a a more moisturising long-lasting foundation. I saw this in Boots and miraculously I found a shade (Soft Beige) that kind of matches my yellow-toned skin (in my opinion most UK foundations seem to be ivory/pink, which looks horrible on me). Some days, I LOVE this foundation - it leaves a dewy but not oily or shiny finish and the coverage is perfect and lasts all day. However,on other days, I find this foundation feels tacky for a few hours after application and can go a bit patchy towards the end of the day. I'm not sure whether it's because of my skin being more/less dry on different days (I am still undergoing treatments that leave my skin a bit unpredictable) or perhaps it's dependent on the temperature outside. Who knows!Overall, this is an excellent drugstore foundation, comparable to "holy grail" foundations, such as Estee Lauder's Double Wear, but at a fraction of the price. Buy it!

I have this in a glass bottle and have never seen it in a plastic tube even years ago when it came out. Foundations for oily skin constantly improve and so did this foundation. As a foundation junkie, I always look for the best foundation for my oily skin but so far, have not come across the very best. The problem with Revlon Colorstay and Estée Lauder Doublewear is the shade selection. No matter how many shades I have tried, nothing came close to my own skin color. Some shades such as Warm Golden Beige in Revlon Colorstay even make me look sick. Same goes for a lot of other famous foundations for oily skin. I am close to NC30 so I went for No. 200 or Soft Beige.Very complimentary color as it disappeared on my skin and perfected the unevenness. Unfortunately, the effect did not last. Within 9 hours, it became patchy and the oil came through in a disgusting form. The foundation oxidized and my perfect shade changed to orange on the cheeks. Nothing stayed on my nose either. For a couple of hours, it worked. 25 hours? That is a joke! I tried this with my favorite NYX HD primer and it lasted for hours and did not oxidize. I will keep this product but they need to be more conscientious about the advertisements.

When my foundation arrived "rimmel London lasting finish foundation - soft beige" I was so excited to try it. It came in a lovely glass bottle, nice and sturdy so you know there won't be any of them risky make up bag leaks of plastic bottles. I was eager to try this straight away so grabbed my make-up remover and whipped my current foundation off. Going on it went on so lovely & smooth, had a lovely fresh scent and a nice even finish. Nice, silky thick foundation you know will give a good coverage - I was sitting thinking yes this is it, my new foundation...6 hours later after a day of parenting I looked in the mirror and was saddened to see that it was patchy and uneven :-(.6 hours is pretty good going imo but I was under the promise of 25 hour coverage so was feeling a little let down. That being said it wouldn't put me off purchasing this product, I found that 6 hour coverage with a day of a 7 month old pulling at my face was good, I would have no qualms about topping it up throughout the day as needed as on a whole this is a great product. Gives exactly what I need from a foundation, nice and moisturising without being greasy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I had never really found just one brand of foundation I'm happy with, so my usual foundations were very pricey mineral foundations/creme foundations - depending on how my skin was on a particular day, but when I went back to uni I couldn't afford such luxuries, so I tried Rimell Lasting Finish 25 hour.I've been using it for nearly 2 months now, and I've well and truly converted. It is very easy to apply, whether you're using your fingers or a brush, making it easy to get an even coverage. It's ridiculously light and natural on your skin, which makes it surprising to find out that it really does last all day - and even if you sweat loads, it doesn't run down your face/smudge like most foundations do.I've also notice my skin has improved somewhat - I'm less prone to getting spots and pimples now too. Perhaps a sign of using a lighter foundation without forsaking coverage?! It smells pretty nice too!Value for money wise - for all that, compared to what I was paying for foundation before, it's a no-brainer really. Smashing value for money. All in all, I'm giving this a 10/10. It will take something extra special to make me give this foundation up.

I would describe my skin as normal. I moisturise every day and still find that the foundation gets patchy mostly on my t zone. Not so much that I feel I need to keep a bottle in my bag, but whilst in work I don't really care as much. Nobody has noticed (I work with some very honest people!) but I do.I find this product gives me full coverage that is sufficient for lasting the majority of the working day. I work in an office which it often warm and stuffy so this probably doesn't help my skin. If I was to go out after work and don't have time to redo it completely, I find I need to 'top up' the foundation to feel comfortable it looks good. What I dislike the most it that it feels very wet once applied.Therfore, I go over with some translucent powder to help it stay in place and also feel dry. If I didn't do this, I wouldn't use it as it does feel sticky and wet for hours. If this was more expensive (£10+) it would be a 3 star. For the price I paid (just under £5 as it was on offer) it's 4 star. When it normally is priced at £7-8 In the shops, I only ever stock up when it is on a 3 for 2 offer. Therefore, for the price if this, it is great.
