I really like the concept of this mascara as it's designed to last longer than an ordinary mascara does. I think that the whole idea that you can shake it to get rid of all of the clumps is pretty cool. I do personally hate when you can tell that there is still plenty of product left in the tube but its starter to get all thick and clumpy. It just starts to look bad and flakes off the eyelashes throughout the day. Therefore this idea is genius. As I've only had the mascara for about a week, I am unable to comment on whether the shake function works but there are certainly no clumps as yet.The mascara itself has a very runny and wet formula, which i find makes mascara last longer in general. On me, it lasted all day without any smudging or flaking. I found it a little bit hard to get off with my normal makeup remover so it took me a bit longer to make sure it was all gone.I enjoy the brush because it is made out of feather bristles, which I think result in the most volume. It is perhaps a little bigger than I'd normally like, though, as I have small eyes and I found it a bit difficult to control and get in to the corner and bottom lashes. I think it'll just take a little bit of practice and then it will be great.I would highly recommend this mascara to anyone who is looking to try something new that will last a long time, both on your eyes and in the tube!

The first surprise of this mascara is the weight. The bottle is much heavier than most mascaras of its size, and this is due to the large ballbearing / weight placed within the bottle. The purpose of this is that when the bottle is shaken the ballbearing moving within the contents helps to keep the mascara liquid and stops it from drying out. That's all well and good, but the mascara needs to be effective as well, it's not much help to have a liquid bottle of substandard mascara. Fortunately this genuinely is a good quality mascara. The brush isn't a gimmicky one, it's pretty standard, reasonably large. As would be expected with a mascara designed to be liquid in use, there was no evidence of clumping with this.Often the first sign of a mascara drying out is a stringy lump of product that can quickly ruin your look.It took a couple of coats to get the natural, slightly feathery effect I wanted but the mascara works well. It stayed on well too, no flaking, powdering or batting off on cheekbones.Whilst it doesn't claim to be waterproof, it needed a good quality make up remover and cotton pads to remove it.The ballbearing should work in keeping this liquid long term, if the mascara is used regularly. When this is finally used up, rather than dried up, I'd certainly look at this again when looking for a mascara to replace it.

The Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara is a very good product indeed. As I seem to be affected by a lot of cosmetic products, I was relieved to find I had no adverse effects with this one, therefore if I can use it then most people can!The mascara itself is good; it is easily applied and I found that two coats were sufficient to produce a nice rich black, although I might apply a third coat for evening wear. The main thing for me is that the mascara didn't flake off onto my cheeks as is the norm so that in itself is enough for me to recommend the product. I cannot comment on the non-clumping feature as it's too soon to report although the idea is sound and as this appears to be a quality product itwill probably achieve its non-clumping goal. One downside is that it does take a little more effect than usual to remove the product although it is worth the effort as this is such a good mascara.Very well-presented in a nice chunky bottle with a decent brush, I would judge this to be very good value for money indeed, especially if the product is not likely to dry out as other mascaras are wont to do.Definitely 5 stars!

This is a mascara which has been designed to beat the thickening, dried out effect that mascara suffers from, which shortens its life span. The idea is that ( a little like a spray can of paint) the mascara tube is shaken and because of the added ball bearing the contents are agitated and kept thin and easy to get out.The addition of the ball bearing gives you a thicker than average tube, it that is the only real difference with the packaging, you have a traditional style mascara brush which works well at collecting the product from within the tube and depositing it onto your lashes. The mascara is a true black and whilst it does need two coats to get a really noticeable look, when you have applied the second coat it gives long, glamorous lashes that last, with no flaking or smudging.i found that this withstood my standard make up removing wipe, so I needed to use a dedicated mascara remover to take it off.I had no problems with irratation, despite having sensitive eyes.

A big heavy mascara (weight wise) - this is one of the most substantial ones I've encountered. This is because this has added ball bearings to stir the content, stopping clumping as time and use ages the product. The mascara has been designed to beat the thickening, dried out effect that mascaras often exhibit. How often has one thrown out a tube knowing there was plenty left but it was too hard to use? Like a spray can the tube is shaken and because of the added ball bearing the contents are agitated to keep them thin and easy to use.Otherwise this is fairly normal - a largish style mascara brush, a true black mascara, which after two coats, gives a really good effect. Not often that I am impressed, but this is impressive.

My wife reports that this shake and sweep mascara really does work. The larger than normal mascara tube houses a small ball bearing that, when shaken up and down, keeps the mascara liquid and non-clumping - just as the same idea works with paint, nail varnish, specialist pens etc.. With two coats from the straight and well bristled brush she achieved length and volume, but retained the separation of lashes. The black has good depth of colour and the mascara has staying power - although it is not waterproof it is pretty smudge proof and you need dedicated eye make up remover to take off all traces. Good value and the new technology should ensure the mascara lasts without drying up.

Pretty cool. Very heavy - must have sizeable metal ball inside for when you shake it. Jet black colour goes on easily and doesn't smudge. Several coats needed to max out. Plenty of volume and length though ;) Considering it isn't a waterproof mascara was fairly hard work removing it. Haven't had it long enough to see if it lasts longer without drying out. Not too expensive so if you are a mascara junkie you will want to try it and f you aren't why not ? ;) Update: Have used this for a month now and its still just as good as the first few times. Rimmel FTW

This is a really good mascara. I was expecting something thick and suitable for evening but it actually a really good lash lengthener that you can build up if you want to.I found it had excellent staying power. Looked like really long natural lashes, and was just lovely.I was puzzled by the heavy bottle. Not sure if this is a gummick? The mascara is excellent but because of the heavy bottle I don't like it in my make up bag, as I try to keep it lightweight. 5 stars even with the annoying heavy bottle.Would recommend.

A good deep black mascara that doesn't flake or smudge throughout daily wear. The container includes a ball bearing (or something similar) that can be shaked up and down to keep the mascara consistency maintained for longer so it doens't get thick and difficult to use. Normal containers can result in thick and clumpy mascara so this design means a longer-lasting mascara.I've been using it over the last couple of weeks and it is a very good and consistent product.

This mascara is quite large and feels heavy because of the ball inside the bottle keeping the mascara liquid so you feel you're getting a lot for your money. It has a bristle brush applicator so good coverage and volume can be achieved and it goes on easily in a couple of swipes. It dries quickly with no clumping or flaking and lasts all day being easily removed with a cotton pad and a good removing lotion.

This comes in a larger container than most mascara, it is heavier to,so I would keep this at home rather than in my bag. The extra weight is due to the ball bearing inside which when the mascara is shaken blends and agitates to ensure a clump free finish. I have used this a few times now and have been pleased with the easy and smooth application and its all day lasting power.

I love this! It could be my imagination is captured by the gimmicky appeal of this mascara but I really think that the product comes off the brush fresher and provides better coverage after a good shake. Will definitely buy this again.

Bought this for my mother in law as part of her Christmas present. I looked around and saw it was selling for £10 in big name stores. Found for an amazing price on Amazon. Exactly as described and saved me money!

A great mascara, which coats and curls lashes beautifully.I liked the unusual curled brush, which made the smaller outer lashes easy to reach.Long lasting with no clumps.A winner!

My favourite mascara by far, don’t understand why there are a few bad reviews. Use to thicken lashes after using a simple coat by another mascara.
