Unlike most long lasting foundations, this one offers a lighter coverage. It seems less like the 'silicon' based 24 hour foundations and more like a standard good old fashioned one. It seems to come with a built in sponge applicator. It is a small shaped sponge at the end of the lid. Only about 1cm by 0.6cm so of very little use as anything other than dotting the foundation around your face. Personally I dont think this is a very hygienic way of doing things. Even on a cleaned and moisturised face, you are going to end up putting bacteria back in the remaining liquid in the bottle. I would prefer a squirty pump or just a good old tip bottle. I tend to use my fingers to apply and spread foundation, and this applies nice and evenly doing that. The result is a almost matt, natural looking finish that does seem to last and does not 'slide' during the day or transfer too easily to say, your phone etc when touching your face. All in all, I was happy with its application, finish and durability. It also does not make my skin feel dry like the usual 24hour foundations.

I was quite impressed with this foundation. It's got a very lightweight fresh feel, as if there's nothing on your skin at all, yet somehow manages to deliver medium coverage. The shade I tried (Ivory) was pleasingly neutral/beige in tone - there's a massive fad at the moment for yellow hued foundations which can look horribly sallow on pale skin - no chance of that with this base. The finish is a sort of gentle velvet matt - not too dull or drying. It's also quite a good foundation for minimising pores. The packaging is a heavy glass bottle with a tapered shape which truth be told I didn't love. When you take the lid off you find it's attached to a sort of sponge tipped paddle which is good for applying the foundation directly to your face, though I don't think it's a great on the go product as you really need to able to put the bottle down on a flat surface whilst dabbing the product onto your skin and blending in. Overall this gives a lovely finish without ever feeling heavy and is pretty affordeable too. Recommended!

I usually wear one of the No 7 colour match foundations, which come in a variety of types - but I thought I'd give this a try. It's quite a light foundation, I need to use more than I did with the heavier No 7, so I'll probably use it up quicker, but it feels pleasant on the skin - the 'breathable' aspect, no doubt. I need to apply it twice to get the same coverage as my previous foundation, but once on, even two applications don't feel as heavy and 'caked on'. It feels light, like a nice moisturizer, and blends in quickly and easily. I also find my skin doesn't get that flaky look by the end of the day where the foundation is wearing off. I like that it also includes quite a high SPF - not so much an issue at the time of writing this review,in October, but come the summer my pale skin will be glad of a bit of extra protection! It has an interesting shaped applicator, not sure if you're supposed to use this to blend the foundation in, or it's just designed to get the most out of the bottle.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation is a very nice natural looking foundation which glides on either using a clean sponge, clean fingers or even a foundation brush. It provides a nice natural finish which simply enhances the facial skin, instead of using it as a mask. If you wanted to hide dark circles or blemishes a concealer would be needed. This is a lovely foundation which I would use daily as the natural finish it provides a natural glow. Personally, I really like this foundation as it still allows my skin to breathe which will not block my pores etc. which can and will lead to the dreaded blemishes or spots.Rimmel London Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation is beautiful to use beauty product which glides along the facial skin surface.I would not use the applicator which is attached to the lid to apply or blend the foundation as it simply is too small, yet it holds a lot of extra product which would remove the natural glow this foundation provides.Happy to recommend.

FOUNDATION===========It’s basically a liquid foundation . It's 30g so it's quite convenient to pop it in your bag. It is available in a few colours. As with all foundations, if you choose too dark you'll look silly, if it's not dark enough they'll be insufficient coverage.I also use different colours depending on the time of year. I'm paler in the winter and have a little tan in the summer. So I can use a darker shade when have a tan. As that fades, my skin tone lightens and so a foundation in Summer is not the same in Winter.EVEN=====I was pleasantly surprised as it applies really evenly and looks flawless. It's not too heavy but gives a subtle airbrushed healthy glow when used with the darker shades.NATURAL=======It has a natural look.It looks nice close up too. I got a nice natural coverage with ease.TIP===I think a little investment in a sponge will pay dividends.OVERALL=======It's a fine foundation.

This is an interesting concept ... A breathable foundation with added moisturisers and sun protection for healthy skin. This foundation comes in a choice of colours and I received 'Classic Ivory' for reviewing purposes.Rimmel produce some lovely beauty products and this foundation is no exception. It comes in a tube style bottle with a sponge applicator wand and the colour is a lovely creamy vanilla yogurt colour that is perfect for very light skins like mine. This foundation is easy to apply and gives good coverage without clogging up your pores, it is slightly scented but not overpoweringly so. Containing moisturisers, SPF20 and it is also a 25 hour wear foundation ...I have no idea if this is true or not as I like to remove my foundation before bed, but what I can say is that after application my skin felt smooth and moisturised for most of the day.Love it.

This new foundation from Rimmel is a good-value and easy to use product that gives light to medium coverage – it can be applied first thing and should then moisturise all day. It is fitted with a soft sponge applicator that is rather small but OK for touching up where required – but my wife uses a larger applicator initially. There are currently fourteen shades of this Rimmel breathable foundation on the same Amazon product page and hovering your cursor over them will give you a rough idea of the colour of each shade – my wife is blonde and finds the Classic Ivory shade suits her well. At under eight pounds for 30ml, currently from Amazon, this is a good-value and effective product that my wife recommends. The product also offers built-in sun protection (up to SPF 20) which may prove useful in the summer – but not really necessary at the time of writing – October.

This is a good foundation, and it certainly does last, but I find it a bit too much for my skin because it is very matt, slightly drying, and it completely covers my natural skin tone, making it good for covering blemishes but also looks a bit artificial. Like, it's super smooth and even, but somehow uncanny. I definitely need blusher when I use this, so then my makeup becomes a whole big elaborate thing. That is why I prefer a tinted moisturiser which gives a slightly translucent, dewy texture.I don't mind the sponge applicator- someone pointed out to me that it's to help with contouring, which is not something I do. I just use the applicator to dab, and then blend it. The foundation dries quickly,so you need to blend it straight away.I think this is a good quality product and if I want full coverage I will use it. Just not for every day.

My eldest has been reviewing this fabulous Rimmel of London Foundation. Here are her thoughts,Overall good coverage, lightweight and breathable with a nice finish.Pros:Lightweight. So lightweight it doesn't feel as if you've got any on but at the same time it gives good coverage. You can layer it up without it looking cakey. It provides a smooth finish which is neither too drying nor too oily. It's good for a mixed skin type like mine. It's good valueThere are lots of shades to choose from .Cons.The applicator is particularly easy to use - I preferred to use my fingers or a brush and this gives a more even finish. It didn't last 24 hrs as it says it does ,more like 6-7 hours and won't last one of my on-call shifts. On the whole though a worthy 4 stars. With thanks from me, from Emmie to Vine and of course to Rimmel London

I'm a die-hard Rimmel fan; I've used many of their products for years because a) the prices are within my budget and b) they suit my skin. I don't wear foundation every day, but when I do I want one that feels light and not thick and heavy, and this one is great. It's the Goldilocks of foundations – it's neither too thick nor too runny, not too pale or too dark. The consistency is smooth making application with a cosmetic sponge, or fingertips, very easy, and the coverage is fabulous; it makes even my ageing skin look absolutely flawless. It looks really natural on my skin, none of that heavy, plastered look you get with some foundations, it feels light and fresh, and it lasts all day without the need for touching up.Removing it is easy with either warm water or micellar water.Excellent product at a reasonable price.

This is a lovely light matte foundation that offers decent coverage. I prefer a natural look and that is what you get. It doesn't feel like I am wearing any makeup at all. It blends quickly and easily and gives a smooth even finish with the tiniest amount of sheen which gives a healthy glow. I find it doesn't dry my skin even at the end of the day or irritate it. The only thing I don't like is the sponge applicator which as far as I can tell only serves to daub the foundation on the skin. To be perfectly honest I would prefer to empty some of the fluid onto my fingers and dot it over my face as it is easier to control the amount that goes on that way.It also strikes me that a foam applicator which touches the skin and then goes back into the bottle isn't the most hygienic system.

This is a perfect foundation for someone who wants their skin to look healthy and glowing. It gives a light coverage which can be built upon to cover up any imperfections. It makes the skin feel very soft and mositurised and look radiant. It looks beautiful on the skin, making it look naturally luminous. It's not so glowy that it makes you look oily. It just makes your skin look very bright and the light reflects off it nicely. It lasted on me all day and looked great for the whole time I was wearing it.It's a great foundation for anyone with dry skin because it will give the look of plumed and mositurised skin.People with oily skin could also wear it because it's not too shiny.A great value product which is great quality.I'd recommend giving it a try!

I always been a fun of Rimmel foundation and powders. This one is also good, does what it says, it's lightweight, it's not visible on my very light skin. The only thing I don't like about it is the applicator. All my previous Rimmel foundations came with a pump dispenser which was working great, this one comes with a 'bud type' applicator. If you buying a breathable foundation, the likelihood is you struggle with occasional spots or acne and you wouldn't want to touch your skin with something you put back into the foundation bottle to not put back any bacteria. With this I have to apply few layers first on the top of my palm, and then try to spread it on my face to avoid contaminating the bottle,so it's not ideal.

My staple go-to foundation has always been L'Oréal True Match so when my last bottle ran out I was straight to Boots to get another. Unfortunately they didn't have my usual shade so I thought I'd give this one a try instead as it seemed to be a close colour match.I was really surprised with it, it is definitely a lightweight foundation which you can add layers to build up a higher coverage. For an every day foundation it ticks all the boxes - its durable, covered imperfections, and most importantly it didn't slide off my face after a few hours like most other brand of foundations do! I'm pretty impressed that I've found a fab alternative to my usual foundation, and at a reasonable price!

First thing when I opened this and saw it had a wand and wasn’t a pump dispenser I was disappointed. For me it adds another step in the process. I normally blend in my foundation using my finger tips. With a pump and can get out what I need and spread it on. With this I have to brush my finger against it on put some on using the wand then blend it in with my fingers. Just a little thing but doesn’t seem the logical choice for Application for me.The foundation it’s self seems to last pretty well throughout the day. I haven’t had it on for 25hrs so can’t say if that claim is true.It blends in well to the skin and matches skin tone well. Overall a good decent foundation for the price.
