I love my matte red lipsticks and i have one i normally wear, it isnt this, but i am adding this to my make up bag. I have very long hair so me and lipstick have a checkered history. One good gust of wind with my hair untied and im wearing thin streaks of whatever is on my lips dragged up my face (and dont get me started on lip gloss...). Matte lipstick has been a Godsend. Hair doesnt stick to it, hurrah!Things that annoy me about lipsticks in general are that you spend ages getting it perfect, take one sip of a drink and oops, there is half your hard work stuck to the glass. I could never see the point of applying something with so little staying power. I have since discovered long wear lipsticks.

My mother assisted with the review of this item and here are her comments.Rouge Velvet is a very impressive lipstick. My mother would usually stick to Yardley or Maybelline as they have a colour range which suits her. Having used this lipstick she advises she will use it again, she described the texture of Rouge Velvet as very creamy and rich unlike some lipsticks it lasts on the lips for a long time. My mum has advised that she usually would re-apply lipstick hourly on days on which she wears it but has found that reapplying it as she would after a few hours or so the previously applied lipstick had not fully faded.The design of the lipstick, the black casing "collar" surround of the lipstick,

Bourjois Rouge Berry Formidable Velvet lipstick is one beautiful lipstick and I would compare it to other more expensive brands, as the colour was strong and vibrant. I loved that it glided on with the bonus it had a matte finish therefore if I wanted to change the "look" of it I could simply add gloss to give it the glossy look.The colour which I was given was the Rouge Berry provided a strong deep rich red colour, therefore if you wanted to wear this I would recommend using a less noticeable eye makeup as if you used too much makeup on the eyes and lips, it would not look good and overdone.This is beautiful to use lipstick and one I do love to use,

TL;DR: not dry, layers well, bought several shades, mixes well too. Comfortable to wear and not high maintenance so you can wear it with confidence.I am not a lippie kind of person but I wanted to "invest" in a good one for special occasions. I ended up using this on a daily basis to work even and can't get enough compliments. I do snack and drink a lot of coffee throughout the day so I need to reapply at times but by the end of the day I've got a few layers packed on so it holds even after curry dinner.I also bought the same branded lip liner for this, which doesn't add much value to be honest, just apply the first 2 layers with a brush and you're settled for the rest of the day with the shape of your lip.Also as a tip.

The one thing I have to say first is that this shade looks absolutely nothing like the shade depicted on the model at all. It looks like its a bright hot pink but in reality its a very dusky nude.Ive attached a picture so you can see. Ive got 2 coats on.The lipstick is shaped curled upwards to mimic the shape of your lips, and it goes on very creamy but then dries to an almost powder finish, i could not rub my lips together after 10 minutes so if you like to be able to do that then this won't be for you.However its a lovely shade, on be its a nude pink and i really like it. The other thing to say is that its weightless, and you cannot feel it on your lips, there is no stickiness, its actually very dry,

I have to start by saying I am not usually a bold person when it comes to lipsticks. I tend to choose nude colours that do not make my lips very visible. I was looking for quite a time for the perfect nude. The colour that fits your needs perfectly and stays on your lips the whole day without drying them up. And this is what Rouge Velvet did. I had the Hey Nude colour and it made me feel a different person every morning: hydrated lips and long lasting matte finish. The only small things I did not enjoy were the smell ( it felt very artificial) and the packaging ( it was difficult to open and close when in a rush). But you can easily forget about such small things when you found your perfect nude.

4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.Flaming Rose is a slightly retro pink matt shade, ideal for late summer (and now, early autumn). I wouldn't describe it as 'hot pink', it's more subtle than that, a more natural pink with hints of the Sixties that looks great with a lightly-tanned skin, on pinker-toned lips.I really liked the fact that Bourjois have gone back to basics with a chisel tip on this lipstick, making it much easier to apply.There's a reason all lipsticks used to be this shape, it's much easier to put them on that way.'Rouge Velvet' implies a very soft velvety feel, and this certainly isn't drying. It's got good staying power, and coped well with eating and drinking.Set to be a summer favourite,

This is one of the best lipsticks I have ever used. I have always in the past used high end ones that cost up to three times this amount. After trying this Bourjois rouge velvet lipstick I think this is equal to if not better than the top of the range ones.A gorgeous shade of pink if a little paler than I thought. I needed two coats for a smooth finish and it went on very very dreamily but the effect is quite Matt when it dries. I love the effect but when I applied a little covering of lip gloss over it is fabulous, lovely and shiny and with or without the gloss looks gorgeous.A long lasting,lipstick that is super easy to apply.

I very much like this lipstick.It comes in a traditional type capped lipstick dispenser with a clean, modern design. Inside, the lipstick is shaped at the top for ease of application.The flaming rose is a very bright candy pink. Extremely dry result, which is one of the 'fashionable looks' now, at least in my neck of the woods.Normally I go for a deep purple shiny lipstick and I'm liking this as a complete change - very fresh for the summer.I've been using this lipstick for nine days now and I've experienced no allergies or sensitivies.It is a dry lipstick so I apply some lip moisturiser at night but then, I'm getting to that age.Suitable for those who want a bright powder-pink result.

This lipstick formula is great, it goes on so creamy which makes it easier to work with than other matte lipsticks, but then dries down after about a minute or so I would say. It has pretty good staying power, it survived a night of drinking, but didnt do well against greasy food, which is pretty standard in my experience. The colour was pretty (hey nude 01) but did draw more red than nude on my complexion (very fair porcelain skin). My only criticism is that despite the creamy formula it accentuated the dry patches on my lips, so you would need to make sure your lips were well prepared before application. When you apply it, it's lovely and creamy but that soon dries down without making your lips feel dry. I usually put two layers on to build up a good colour and it's the most perfect nude for me, not too pinky or brown with a hint of peach. I usually use a lip liner as I find you don't really get a very precise edge when using this lipstick. That doesn't take anything away from it though, I'd still buy it! I got Berry Formidable. The colour is a nice deep red with blue undertones. Goes nicely with olive skin and it's bold and dramatic.The lipstick is like velvet. It's very smooth to apply and it's soft and light. It dries and then does not move. Even when you touch your lips. Obviously rubbing it off or using make up remover will remove it and I haven't tried leaving it on for 24 hours so not sure a single application will last that long. It survived a meal and drinking water and there was no lipstick on the glass! After the meal it looked like I had just applied it. It eventually came of with my normal cleanser.For the price, it's a lovely product!
