Red is THE colour of Autumn-Winter 16 thanks to being the focus of the debut collection of Chanel's new global designer for cosmetics and colour Lucia Pica. Thus the high street are looking to provide affordable alternatives!Bourjois now owned by Coty has hit the nail on the head with their punchy richly pigmented shades but their claims of 12 hour wear are a little enthusiastic unless you are intending not to eat or drink for that period of time. The formula of rouge edition 12 hours is buttery if a little waxy as it can drag on the lips when it's a little cold, I would advise if you don't like using a brush for the perfect pout slightly warm the bullet whether with a superquick low heat blastwith the lid on from your hairdryer or popped in your bra whilst applying your other makeup. The feel is comfortable and moisturised, but I would advise blotting if you don't like the slip, as it does feel slippy until once blotted then it feels like natural lips.I can get continuous wear through drinks both got and cold and general day to day but it is decimated by food, I needed to remove and reapply after eating as it wasn't salvageable. Towards the end of its wear/or after eating it does wear patchy from the inside out and feels powdery-dry and a touch gritty as it 'dries out' and is no longer blendable to 'fill in' the wear.It does transfer very easily on skin so be careful kissing, my 4 month old daughter looked like she had bumped her head after a kiss! This is also true of smearing whilst wearing it can easily overspill your lip line and you will need careful touching up with a cotton bud/q-tip dipped in makeup remover or oil to prevent this just smearing like a toddler going to town with a crayon.Colour wise, red-belle is a pillar box strawberry red, but more in the blue tone family than coral-orange, it's reminiscent of the vintage 1950s red lip look but not quite deep or dark enough for a true wartime 'Victory Red' or 'Russian Red'. It's certainly a flattering shade that's wearable by most skin tones despite its brightness.Overall I like this lipstick despite not being a fan of lipstick overall, this feels more like a balm-stick once applied (and it warms!) and is beautifully pigmented. My mum thinks it's too bright but then she doesn't like bright makeup so it will be down to your individual taste.

You know what, the re-applying lipstick nightmare doesn’t look that way to guys. I’m writing here as a clueless guy, just so you know, but a woman fixing her makeup is endearing, it’s charming and feminine and rather lovely to see, and I’d happily wait for her. It says here’s a girl who cares about the way she looks, not to some guy necessarily but to herself. I see the inconvenience in re-applying lipstick, I really do, but it’s not the worst thing in the world, and it’s not in itself a bad look. That said, there is much to be said for a decent stay-all-day lipstick, one that you can apply and forget about. This one from Boujois is a classic twist-up lipstick in a classic colour – a deep burgundy red.The eye-catching feature here is of course the 12-hour claim. Well, the market has certainly shifted away from basic lipsticks, to the extent that there are plenty of brands offering this kind of longevity. And this one does last 12-hours, providing you don’t let anything touch your lips. That’s a challenge and a half unless you say nothing, eat and drink nothing, and kiss nobody. I’m guessing that’s not quite the 12-hours you had in mind. So, while the colour is great for day and night, formal and casual, it’s not really up there with the best of them for lasting all day long. For comparison, we’ve found lip gloss has much better staying power than most lipsticks, though we tested a stick from Rimmel recently, which did last pretty well all day long, even with talking and eating and drinking, and dare we say kissing.Overall, this is a lovely colour of lipstick. It is a very wearable shade for all occasions, so a good go-to stick, and great at the price. We are just not convinced about that 12-hours.

The lipstick is a bright but dark red burgundy would be a good name for the colour ! Its quite highly pigmented so does give colour for a long time but I find eating and drinking removes most lipstick. It faded to a more to a pinkish hue' I would say lipstick would only last 12 hours if put on before bed before an un interrupted nights sleep .The packaging is light weight plastic feels neither .classy nor cheap. At one end is clear plastic and indicating the colour handy if you have a lot of lipsticks in your bag or draw. The ingredients are not listed on the lipstick so no idea if there are any which commonly cause allergies or which are not suitable for vegetarians which some red pigments arenotSkin doctor no more oil T zone controlThis product has been tested on teen age sensitive skin and mature skin. It feels nice going on, is easily absorbed and does not have a lot of fragrance. Its not upset either skin which is quite uncommon. Seems to work quite well at balancing oil without causing dryness. The product is packaged in a light plastic pump action container, makes it easy to apply and the product is not getting contaminated like with an open jar into which a finger is dipped. It contains only 30mL of product but the outer cover makes it look much more. This is quite common with cosmetic manufacturers who make the container look much bigger than it is. skin doctors do give info about their products on the outer packaging unfortunately this has been misplaced so no comment on whats in'.

The lipstick is presented in an elegant, square-section shiny black tube, embossed with the Bourjois logo and printed in reds and white with the product information. The lipstick colour is shown at the bottom of the tube, which is transparent plastic. On removing the cap, the lipstick tip is oblique as is usual but the end of the tip is dished and not chiselled, so that the curve of the product fits the curve of the lips. I like this. The lipstick has no smell and no discernible taste. The lipstick slicks on easily and well, without any dragging or slipping. There is not any pulling nor dry feeling, nor any of that that crinkly lip sensation some lipsticks give. In wear it has a satiny finish, not gloopy or glossy., and it doesn’t have that chip-shop-lips look. The colour I have is no. 46, Burgund’it. It is a strong, decided crimson, quite dark but not too Dracula nor too drab. I feel it is smart with a business suit and feminine with a sleek frock. The colour doesn’t change in wear, even after several hours and it doesn’t feel sticky either. Both the lipstick and the colour last well but still easy to remove. I often have trouble finding a lipstick I like, but this one is lovely. Do I like it? Yes. Would I buy it again? Yes, please.

Love the packaging its very nice to look at. The colour is a very deep berry red and will be good for a dark deep red look. I found the lipstick to be fairly moisturising and not drying, which is a real plus as I struggle with lipsticks being quite drying on my lips, think this could be due to having worn the lip gloss types for several years and when switching back to lipsticks the texture is very different. I found this lipstick comfortable to use and the colour whilst quite dark was very glamorous! I put this to the test in that it was on though a few cups of coffees (it did start to fade a bit) and then lunch. After lunch I checked out the damage to the lipstick and found that yes,you could still see the deep colour staining my lips, particularly around the outline of my lips but I did need to reapply to get the full proper look again. The point is the stain had remained, which is great as it would allow to keep a lipstick look in place to allow a full touch up after you have eaten/drank especially whilst out socialising. Think Bourjois are a great brand and they have tried really hard here to create a day long lipstick! I like this and would recommend to all.

As a bloke my opinion is that there are really only four or five colours available, but according to my partner this is not true. In fact, you can have shades of the same colour! The 'Bourjois Rouge Edition 12 Hours Lipstick, Red-Outable' says that it is red, but this is a red with a touch of a winter berry, or a little plummy. This means that it does not quite have the load presence of a vibrant red, but more of an inquisitive hello, would you like to know more feel. The quality of the lipstick is good and it stays on for a decent length of time. The product aims for 12 hours and if you don't eat anything during that time you may be right, but it will need touching up should you have lunch etc.Like so many lipsticks it is hard to really differentiate when they get to a decent enough level. The 'Bourjois' is at that level and it applies easily and lasts. It is perhaps the more interesting shade of this particular makeup that will swing it for you as it does offer something a little more interesting than louder reds.

I have been looking for a good red lipstick for years & think this will be it!I have olive skin and brown hair and do wear lots of shocking pinks & reds.I have not had trouble finding pink lipsticks but have searched in vain so far to find a good red.The trouble for me is that many of the reds I have tried turn "purple" after a few minutes - this must be to do with skin pH (acidity & alkalinity) I think. Some lipsticks "taste" horrible to me and so I cannot use them - I have found this even with some of the expensive brands.I have never had a Bourjois lipstick before (I have used lots of their eye make-up).I have tried this one out several times and I love it - the taste & texture is good.Thecolour is super - a dark but true red - and it stays that way.It does seem to last a long time - I cannot say if it is the full 12 hours - but many do not seem to last 12 minutes on me - as I seem to "eat" them off! This one gets my vote - A SUPER RED!

This Bourjois Burgund’it lipstick is an attractive and decent value product that my wife has been very pleased to use recently – although this shade of red is not one she would normally choose for herself. However, there are a choice of four shades altogether in this Bourjois Rouge Edition range so another one may be more suitable. For around eight pounds you get a lipstick that is intended to last for up to twelve hours and it's texture and semi-matte finish is somewhat different to other lipsticks – however, my wife did find she needed to reapply after a meal as it started to look a bit uneven after eating. Bourjois is a French cosmetics company with over 150 years of make-up expertise with a Parisian theatre heritage – it is now part of the American Coty group. This Bourjois lipstick is a good product from a large range of related items currently available from Amazon and Bourjois is a brand well worth checking out further.

I love this lipstick! This is the second time I've bought it (I have several other shades from the same range), and will probably buy it again when it runs out.In the tube, the colour looks quite dark, almost brown, and has a small amount of glitter. When applied (on me, at least) it looks much brighter and more of a pink-plum. The glitter is barely noticeable, except to give a sheen - definitely no sparkle. The lipstick is easy to apply, and doesn't bleed, even without lip liner. It can be built up or blotted off to give a range of effects, from a light berry stain to a full glossy plum. It does transfer (eg to a glass or cup) but is not sticky or oily and wipes off very easily. The colour fades evenly between applications, and can be removed completely with minimal effort. My lipstick collection is huge and varied, but this shade holds its own among classics and high-end products. I highly recommend it.

This was a nicely packaged lipstick that when opened, appeared to be a deep berry true red. It glided on smoothly without any bleeding despite my not having lined my lips first and having previously applied a lip moisturiser with SPF (I did let that soak in a minute or two first). The shade that appeared once on was the same deep shade it had promised, a true red that was not too dark for daytime wear and the perfect shade of semi-matte for my rock-a-billy retro look. It promises 12 hours of wear but I found after a breakfast, a couple of coffees and then lunch, the colour remained as a stain but the lipstick itself needed a light refresh application. The lipstick did not dry my lips out and upon second application,I could feel that it was lightly moisturising. So, if out and about all day, this is a good lipstick, just keep it in your purse for a light touch up after eating meals.

Cosmetic companies seem to make ridiculous claims about the longevity of their products, 24 hour foundations etc, claims which I tend to take with pinch of salt. If you want a very long lasting lipstick you will have to compromise on moisturisation. Ruby Woo by Mac lasts for ages but dries out your lips. This Bourjois feels quite moisturising and tacky immediately after application so I immediately doubted the 12 hour claim. It's a flattering colour, more raspberry red than burgundy which is a better shade for my pale complexion. It's a blue toned shade which has a whitening effect on your teeth - another bonus. It's just a shame it has the 12 hour label as it only lasts a few hours and will not survive even a snack. If you want a pretty, flattering, easy to apply lipstick this is for you but ignore the longevity claim!

Bourjois make wonderful lipsticks at a fraction of the cost of the high end ones sold at leading department stores. This is a long lasting lip stick that is long lasting as long as you do not eat anything. I had a cup of coffee and a little transferred to the cup but when I ate my lunch I had to re-apply. Mao whilst an excellent product claims to last twelve hours are a bit wide of the mark. This is a moisturising lipstick due in part to the Shea butter and it comes in an attractive lipstick holder with the shade depicted through the glass at the base. This is in the Burgundy colour way which is very dark and does not really suit my skin tone.I will re-buy this in a paler side as I do really like the lipstick and it is good value for money.

Although this lipstick did not last all day (it is advertised as lasting for twelve hours) it is a really gorgeous product. It is nicely shaped, easy to apply and feels comfortable. I did not need a lip pencil with this, the colour was a classic red and looks great both during the daytime and at evening. It is matt, rather than shiny, but you could obviously add some lip gloss for evening wear if you wanted to.I find some lipsticks either dry out your lips or tend to just vanish after the first cup of coffee at the office. This certainly lasted much better than most and I only re-applied once during the day. I think this both feels, and looks, nice and it does last well.

24.8.2016

This is a scarlet lipstick, which has an almost delicate matt coverage, which gives an effective colour to the lips, which lasts. It is advertised as 12 hours, but I found it would last until lunchtime, during which, the activity of eating tended to ease away the coverage. The coverage had coped well with breakfast, but clearly the larger meal was too much. This isn't overly surprising, very few lipsticks would last beyond a meal. But I was impressed with the coverage until the meal, which remained the same delicate matt scarlet.I would recommend this - it is a lovely shade, and although it didn't manage the 12 hours, it did manage 6 very effectively.
