I already run in the standard GT2000, so I know that this model comes up small. If you are aware of that in advance there is nothing to fault with this shoe. I normally take a 5.5 but have to go up to a 7.5 with the GT2000 range - so go at least 2 sizes up to get a good fit. These were perfect straight out of the box. I can't comment on their ability to withstand water as I haven't been out in the rain yet; but that is not my main concern. They are not an all-out trail shoe for rocks/scree - but more suitable for gravel paths/ stony tracks, wet grass, leaves etc in bad weather. Not many trail shoes are described as support shoes and these fill a neat gap in the market when you need a bit more
