I've been reading the complaints about the too low toebox and yes, it may be an issue, I hope that is resolved somehow in the next version. Traction has improved compared to the previous Timp 1.5 but to be honest, not too much, so be careful on slippery and icy roads, Lone Peak has a much better traction but its cushioning, especially in the 4.5 sucks big big time. This Timp has great cushioning and will have to see how they behave with pronation (previous Timp was awesome in that aspect but now the shape of the sole changed). It feels tight on foot and more secure. And it's lighter which is great! I dare to say this is Altra's fastest shoe I tried (faster than the Escalante and Provision).Except for the toe box being too low, the not very secure traction, and the fit being just a tiny bit too tight, and maybe it will deform due to pronation (I hope it won't just had them for a day and did a quick 5 road run) they are the best Altra racing shoe. It's not your everyday walking shoe, maybe later when they might loosen up a bit. To me they are for racing, even more than for training. They had a small manufacturing defect though but not big deal, more an aesthetic thing.

I have bought the Timp 2.0 for longer runs when a little more cushioning is welcome. Overall I like the shoe, it feels more cushioned than my other shoes but it still doesn't feel overbuild. I have a more narrow foot and like the overall fit. The toebox has less height than my other Altras but the shoes have widened a bit after the first runs and when running i have no complaints about it. For my feet the heelcup of the shoe could be more narrow and give better hold but if I do the lacing carefully it works. The lug pattern works well for road to average technical terrain. If a really aggressive lug pattern is needed there are better options. I have the same size as my Altra Superior 3.0,King MT 2.0 and also Nike Terra Kiger 4 and it feels right. I think this is a shoe that can cover a pretty large range of runs regarding length and terrain.

Tried these to help with plantar fascia problems. Had previously been used to Lowa rengades, which I've used for years, The Altras take a bit of getting used to, main thing, as its now november, is that they are not waterproof at all, having said that, they are not supposed to be waterproof. After a weeks use on the moors walking the dog, I would never go back to ordinary boots again. Heel pain due to the Plantar problems have virtually gone, which is a huge thing. These grip well on all but wet smooth rock, but the Lowas were the same on wet rock. The feel you get with the wide toebox is brilliant and being zero drop with no arch support, it improves your gait no end.

Amazing design - materials, grip, cushioning and general high quality, and red colour looks amazing - but they fit very small and are low In volume. I normally have an 8. I tried both 8 and 8.5. 8 was really small on me. 8.5 is good for length and heel felt nice, but tight across forefoot, i.e. at the bottom of the laces, not the toes. I could probably go up to a 9 in these, so I’ll have to try those. I’ve never had Altras before, so don’t know if they would stretch a little. With a little more volume, they would be perfect.

Excellent trail shoe. Spectacular grip. Tested in wet terrain of rock and earth, with some technicality. Good cushioning, similar to Torin4 of the same brand (for road). Points to improve: - it needs a little more lateral space in front of the foot and this model is fairer in height, that is, the space above the foot in the front area. - improve the adjustment of the foot so that it does not run forward when going downhill. If so the normal number is correct. Otherwise, I suggest half a number above.

overall a very good shoe , light, sturdy better cushioning than the Lone peak so comfy for those longer trail runs. The only issue I had was that my first run in them was a longish 45 Km, and the toe box did not seem as roomy as the lone peak or previous Altra shoes. I did end up with a black large toenail, which is unusual with Altra's, the shoes seem to fit a half size smaller than Lone peak or the escalante, im going to try a pair 1/2 a size bigger

I have just had it for a couple of days, but the fit is really good. The heel and mid foot are locked down and secured while there is room for the toes to splay. The shoe is pretty tight over the forefoot which I like. The rubber on the sole feels sturdy and I hope it will last a long time. It's a really good shoe so far and I can't wait to take it out on the trails! It might be a good idea to take a half size bigger than your everyday shoe.

Timp 2 is the third leg. I've been wearing 7 pairs since the first generation before that. With this Timp 2, I think that the rigidity of the shoes, or the feeling of firmness, has improved further. In addition, the laces are excellent, they do not loosen, and they are easy to tighten. The grip is also good. It's good in rocky areas. A feeling of size is a little tight. I think it can be one size larger. These shoes are easy to run.

I have now bought my second pair of Timp 2, as this is my favorite trail running and hiking shoe for this year. The upper fits my narrow foot really well and has proven to be robust despite looking quite simple. I would have preferred slightly deeper and longer lasting lugs but apart from this the shoe works great for me and the fit is much better than in the Lone Peak 4.5 with might work better for wide feet.

I started running with the Altra Escalante 7 month ago and I have to say that the sole of the Escalante is a little bit to thin for a beginner (13mm) but 1 week ago a changed to the timp 2.0 cause I was getting more and more into trails and I must say that this shoe is amazing. Light, rigid at the right point, fast and comfortable. I´m really happy also with the service of RinnerInn!

I spent a long time studying which sneakers to buy, and I decided to buy these Timp 2.0. It was the best choice! Damping is very good, it looks like I'm gliding. You don't feel stone beaks for example. Super comfortable, the feet move freely, but not too much. No more foot pain. I hope they last, because if you continue with this performance, I will buy some of the same.

I’m a big fan of the Escalante’s foam but not so much the lacing system and the stretching of the heel cup over time. The Timp lacing system is better. I tend to a run a mix of trail and road so the Timp 2’s offer a sensible compromise. They excel on gravel trails and are just about cushioned enough for the road. PS Bought a pair 0.5 size bigger than my Escalante’s

Perfect for those long trail runs on non technical trail and those runs where you have t run on road to and from the trails. They are really comfy and feel much faster and like actual running shoes than the Lone Peaks. I bought my actual size and whilst it fits fine, it is tighther than the usual Altra toe box. Maybe buy a half size up if you're undecided.

I found myself very well.I got a couple of other thyme 2.0 at the best price on the web .... in the sense that the price of that color and the number that interested me was the lowest.I got the traceability just after one day from the order and after another 4 the shoes arrived in their original box, new and of the right size ..... perfet to ........

Best other shoe from my point of view. Light, cushioned, not too high profile which makes it very stable. Thanks to its lightness it is perfect for any distance, it excels in long ones. Upper without seams not too elastic which gives a good feeling of safety also on the technician. Grip designed for dry and not very technical paths.
