Perhaps I didn't look hard enough but I couldn't find a British made electric soldering iron. There were plenty made by goodness knows who, goodness knows where, but having watched a few John Ward video reports on various Far Eastern electrical products, a German Weller seemed to be a better choice. When it arrived the package said 'made in Mexico' but, it would be nice to think, it was to German standards. It appears to be well made, the extra tips, which were pre-tinned, in the kit have been useful, but most of all I have confidence in it. My only criticism is that the LEDs are not very powerful.

Amazing delivered within hours of ordering. Product well made as expected from Weller, however no mention in listing of two pin plug. No natter will eorn in UK 249v with suitable adaptor. Could chop offf two pin and fit UK three pin bug guess would invalidate warranty. Great value for money and as above brilliant delivery service. We done Amazon. Could only have been quicker by drone ?

I had one of these for over 30 years and it served me relyy well never let me down ever. I broke my rule of never lending tools and it came back broken. Luckily this new one is equally as good as the one from the 80's so I'm very happy. and re learned Never lend out anything you value.

Fantastic item, excellent value for money. Heats up in a few seconds. Very happy with this soldering iron and would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it.

he does deliver a great heating power in a record time and if you leave it a minutes is amazing much better than a gas one absolutly nothing to compare

Reaches required temperature quickly ( approx. 2 minutes ). LED lights assist accuracy and ease of use. Would recommend for work on guitar wiring.

The light is useful. I have not struggled to solder at cold temperatures outside. More powerful than my gas powered soldering iron.

The leds help with close in work only downside is that the front of the handle near the leds gets very hot
