Well this is my first pair of Timberland walking/hiking boots, after having owned 3 other pairs of Timberland boots in the past (one pair I am still wearing after nearly 9 years of heavy and rough use). They're a good quality boot, no frills in particular, but warm and very comfortable even from the first time you put them on. Nicely waterproof (although always remember to clean and treat them!), though you can't really go too wrong with decent leather boots (after owning Regatta boots, I will never again buy another pair as they do leak within short periods of time, though are nice summer boots).So here's the pro's and con's of the boots;Pro's- Good quality,

I read a couple of negative reviews about these boots. However, I was quiet impressed with these boots because the fitting is good, they look good; good grip on outside soles; the comfort level is good inside and around the ankle padding and on the tongue; laces a bit too long but that is not a problem they are a solid pair of boots ideal for autumn maybe even snowy winters. The only drawback is that they are slightly faded in some areas maybe due to the leather being treated with some form of coating and they get marked quickly if rubbed against anything also the tongue is not gusseted and the ankle area opens up a bit even when boots are tied up properly allowing dirt and water to get in apart from that they are good boots.

I have worn out many pairs of these boots over the last 15-20 years. They feel great once they are broken in and are very durable. I have tried to find a better feeling and looking boot with the same long lasting exterior with no success. The leather holds up well. These boots can be a bit heavier than other boots on the market and the strings over time, after years of use, have a tendency to get thin and pull apart. Overall I can't find a better boot for what I need and desire. Will definitely buy again when this pair wears out.

This is my 3rd pair of these EURO boot design.... I have many challenges with my feet and have found these are the best fitting and most comfort for my feet issues. So many of shoemakers keep changing their designs and I do worry that they will not continue to produce this model boot. Good news is they HAVE kept this design and i find my self ordering just to make sure I have back up pair... that just shows you how much i enjoy this boot. Snug, comfort, light weight and looks sharp means alot to me! Please continue production!!!

The change in the tongue design is disappointing but overall I still like these boots. While it seems Timberland decided to change the tongue design to make these boots more like a sneaker I can live with the slightly reduced functionality. I use these boots primarily for walking outdoors and have appreciated the extra water resistance offered by the old tongue design in my last two pairs of these same boots but I rarely need to walk through deep standing water. It sure was nice to have the added protection when I did though!

My requirements are not hard core fell walking, but wanted a good heard wearing boot for general country walking and enjoying the stony beach local to home. I did quite a bit of research on Timberland boots, visited the shop several times and eventually bought from Amazon. They feel quite hard out of the box, but were surprisingly comfortable first time out.Have not used excessively so far, but happy, good boot, good price, good delivery as usual from Amazon.

Very good boots for hiking. I use them a lot in Caucasian mountains during summer time. Also I just completed 1 month backpacking trek in Everest region in this boots. They endured well so far. It is water resistant but not water proof, it get soking wet in extendend rain. also after walking all day, especially during warm weather foot gets sweaty, but it is hard to expect leather boots to be waterproof and breatheble. I'm happy with them for the price I paid.

i read a few comments below saying that these boots were now manufactured in china and with that, it lost quality. I don't know where they get that, cause the boots i received were just as the same quality as the normal timberland boots. The leather is great, all the shapes have been wiped out, and the quality of the boot is high. Not disappointed with the package, or with the amazon service, who once again fixed all my problems. excellent pair of boots!

The boots fit very well and look good apart from the white line around the front of boot at the toe area. I find it is still there after i have polish my boots i only have to do a few step and the line is there to see again. I have never had this line on any of by boot's before and find it spoils the look of them. I was hoping to were them as my best boot's with my jean's but because of this they will end up as my dog walking boot's.

I normally wear a 9 & 1/2 in tennis shoe, casual boots all seem to be made large. I had a pair of these in 8m (first pair), just ordered 7 & 1/2 second pair . Fits perfect! The 8s I have lasted me 10years, but are SHOT these look the same to me. Everyone stated the shoe was redesigned? Wears great too, doesn't hurt my feet. They are very stiff and need oil to soften up but great product!! Very happy!

I've read the reviews concerning the design change and I agree it didn't help. That being said, the boot is still a quality product. I like the strong water resistant leather. The lug pattern is great against caking and rocks. Although I wear a wider width, I can wear the medium with no discomfort.While I don't recommend these for K-2 but for regular round house weekend stuff they are perfect.

High quality and very light weight and very comfortable. I tried many shoes before.. like JAck Wolfskin etc.. but this one is far better. I used it to walk long distances and felt zero pain. Cf to my jack wolfskin I feel pain in my heels but this one was no issue. However, I do not know if it is waterproof. Can be used in summer, I did not feel sweaty inside even tho it was very hot.

I love these boots.They fit great, give my feet perfect support and look nice.They where a little scuffed upon arrival, but after giving them just a little mink oil, to make them water resistant, no more scuffed to be seen.They arrived about 2 weeks ago, I took them out for a nice outing in Palm springs (Rocks, dust, water...) and they held up nicely.I would buy them again.

Good pair of boots. I had the previous iteration and they were the best boots I've ever had and these are the latest version... These are not (yet) as good but I'm waiting to see if they are once worn in... Initially signs are that the ankle part rubs a little, but they are waterproof and starting to soften so I'm still hopeful. Good value I reckon.

I purchased the boots for my brother who lives in Green Bay Ws. for Christmas in July gift. He doesn't have car so he walks all over town. A couple of years ago he fell, hurt his hip very bad. These shoes are snow tires for him. Now, I don't have to worry if fells & breaks a leg. Cause I won't want to leave sunny Fl. to take care of him.
