Metal body fits in the palm of your hand nicely and is easy to hold, direct and use accurately.Blade is sharp enough to do the job (fitting kitchen plinths/kickboards, window sills, plasterboard etc.) Great that the blade can be replaced for when it blunts.Only downside and reason for the 4 star rating is the plastic blade fitting/adjustment - feels a little cheap and flimsy and is a bit fiddly if you have fat clumsy fingers like me. That said it does the job and stood up to the task.

One of the best tools I've ever bought, paid for itself when I was cladding a stud wall with plaster board, finishing the edges perfectly flush, good build quality, my dad has had one of these exactly the same and its older than I am.There is a plastic yellow one of these also made by Stanley and takes the same blade, it has a different style body however I prefer this style as it sits in your palm better

Never seen something like this before i thought it was a blade that does the shaving of wood but it's like a cheese grater that does the job .This will work for me thought it be nice if the picture showed that too.Hence one less star for poor presentationHowever it seems to do the job as i tried using it to see what it can achieve.Surprisingly good

Small, light and does the job. Simple plastic twist catch to hold the metal cutting edge in place, and while I'm not 100% convinced yet of that part's long term robustness it does do the job ok. So far I've only used it on plasterboard after cutting to size to smooth the rough edges but it works fine and has a nice feel in my hand.

Great product for trimming some custom MDF doors down after fitment. Still needed to finish the edges with some sand paper, but for quick removal of additional material (5mm) it was great.I can’t comment on the longevity of it, as I’ve only used once.

Best slippy cup we've ever bought! No leakage, easy to dismantle and clean and my son loves drinking from it. With this cup there's no worries about it affecting their teeth and it teaches them how to sip from a cup. Extremely happy with this product.

Decent quality. Is adaptable for many different uses. Only problem I find with even any brand of these is the blades ar guitar fragile so don’t put all your weight behind it until you get used to what it can do ! Would buy another if needed.

Great sturdy little tool - when you need it you'll be glad you've got it.Surprisingly tough, I had some boards where screw tips were protruding slightly, this thing got them flat and the blade was still good afterwards.

Did the job. Two doors now close, Was a bit sceptical that it would work, but it does and leaves quite a smooth finish, rub down with a bit of sandpaper after use and all done. Another job ticked off the wife's list.

Very handy tool. I have bought a number over the past 20 years. Lost them so bought this. Good quality blade which is very easy to change. Solid in the hand. Excellent for finishing small areas, door shaving etc.

This hand held unit is just perfect for little bits to finish off a job without a large or a bulky power plane and also you can change the direction of the plane to have the blades towards you or away from you

8.2.2019

The full term for this unit is a surform block plane. It's a wood/ hardboard rasp. Not a bladed block planeSolid design though.minus 1 star for misleading/incomplete product title.

So I'm no professional, once you get the right motion of shaving a door it comes of nice like a cheese grater. Worth the money if you want to shave them doors

I am having to learn how to diy for myself and my husbands was much to heavy for me. This was so much better and I managed to do the job I needed to do.

14.2.2016

simple and honest scraper that I use for all my major thinning and shaving tasks. Also, replaceable blades are so cheap and a doddle to change.
