This is a fantastic little plane for the money, i was a little bit doubtful about purchasing this after reading some of the other reviews, ie the sole plate been a little bit course ground which has absolutely no bearing on the performance what so ever although can be easily sorted with a bit of wet and dry if you wish, and the front sole plate not always lay flat when adjusted just pushes back into place with no effort at all. Tremendous value for money if your in the market for a new Block Plane then don't think twice just get it and enjoy your purchase and your saving.

I have only so far used the block plane a few times after giving the blade a good sharpening, although it wasn`t that bad anyway. It feels good in the hand and is an awful lot better than the old one I had.But what I am amazed about is the fact I only ordered it yesterday, and it was in my house when I got in from work!! Brilliant service again from both Amazon and the carrier.

Nice little plain for the money, however the build quality is not great. Initially wondered if it was an original product or a Chinese knock-off, but packaging and online pics confirmed it to be a proper Stanley product. The blade was badly out of true, and needed to be ground square and sharpened, and the foot had to be ground flat. But once that was done the plane works great.

This plane is both very tactile and a beauty to use.The blade came very sharp (so no immediate need to grind it down) and it cuts beautifully.It is well made and the adjustments are very easy / precise to use.Obviously it is "courses for horses" and this is design for small and more delicate work, but it make a good addition to the woodworking toolkit.

I love this block plane. It wasn't perfectly flat but that took about 30 minutes on a sheet of emery cloth to sort out and can easily be forgiven at this price, (Google tuning up a block plane). But it fits well in the hand and the blade doesn't creep. At a fraction of the price of some block planes. Great little plane.

My frog is slightly off from factory as I have to adjust the right angle to get a straight blade.The chip breaker does not sit completely on the iron and has a small straight edge at the front,if you set your chip breaker closer than 0.5mm the shavings crumple up, if you set it a bit further back, works a treat.

This little plane is up to any work you use it for, solid heavy with a reasonable blade.I was a little disappointed with the plastic palm handle. But for the price, I'm sure I canmake a rosewood replacement. All in all, I'm happy and started using as soon as Idhoned blade

Have used Stanley tools for many years. This is a very good block plane.Just make sure you sharpen and hone the blade properly.Use the best sharpening stone you can afford with honing oil and finish off with a good quality buffing compound.

It's a Stanley block plane, there's a reason they're still making them and that's because they are a good bit of kit that does the job that it was made for and does it very well indeed.

Great little plane. Lots of negative renews but anyone that has bought Stanley planes before knows that’s it has to be refined a little bit ie refining the base. Great quality

remember this plane is not to be used for any heavy work at all. but only for honing in on finishing,, taking the arris off doors, and for edging 1/8 plywood e.t.c.

Great plane at a great price. Works great for planing and landing net building and have recommended to others...dont buy those cheap made ones a Stanley will last!

This is a great little plane. The iron release catch is not quite up to the standard of the rest of the build but I have had no problems with it so far.

I was tempted to get a cheaper plane as this is not the cheapest on the market, but you get what pay for and this is well worth the extra cash.
